The notion that our government would have a registery to keep tabs on our enemies has been the focus of leftist disdain since Trump suggested we should place a temporary ban on Muslims. We’ve all heard the snarky comments, no need to repeat the drivel. But it turns out our nation already had a registry for such persons. It was wisely, and quietly, put in place after 911 to help keep our nation safe.
After taking the presidency in 2008, President Obama waited until 2011 to “freeze” the program. Today he announced he will dismantle it. If the regisry is as repugnant and vile as the left claims, what took Obama so long to dismantle it? Seems to me he’s only now doing it to try to redeem himself and his legacy!
Had the program remained in place, and had this administration followed through with the strategy to defeat the enemy might we have avoided the Bostson Marathon bombing (2013), the San Bernardino shooting (2015), and the Orlando massacre (2016)?
I say go ahead and dismantle the registry. It will leave a clean slate on which to build a much better and more technologically savvy system to target “Arab and Muslim men visiting from countries with active terrorist groups” as well as those coming here and living now as refugees from such countries. We need such a system of identification during this time of war and I’m confident the PC police will not be able to deter Trump from delivering what the people have demanded. As for Obama, he’s more than a day late.

I’ve known many nationalists in my life time of many different races and both genders. They all wore the same symbol. It’s called the Stars and Stripes.
