Report: Western World Helped Obama Spy on Trump

Posted by Tina

An explosive report reveals that all of the spy agencies in the Western world were aiding the Obama administration in it’s efforts to dig up dirt on first candidate, and then president elect, Donald Trump. The revelations are both troubling and legally profound. While we’ve spent months watching the media accuse and suspect the Trump administration of things untoward regarding ties to Russia and put up with the smears and smarmy mirth of progressive talking heads it turns out Trump was right all along. Last week both the Washington Post and the New York Times admitted Trump was “wiretapped.” The Daily Wire has details from various sources (see links). The Guardian:

The European countries that passed on electronic intelligence – known as sigint – included Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia, a member of the “Five Eyes” spying alliance that also includes the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand, also relayed material, one source said.

Another source suggested the Dutch and the French spy agency, the General Directorate for External Security or DGSE, were contributors.

As John Hinderaker pointed out (see link), absolutely nothing of substance was ever found on trump.

The story here is that the Obama administration abused the power of office to spy on a political opponent, something Nixon only dreamed of doing. If the rule of law is to mean anything in our nation, this abuse of power should be investigated by the DOJ.

  1. Chris says:

No, the Daily Wire is grossly misrepresenting the known facts here.

The very next part of the Guardian article–which the Daily Wire intentionally omits in order to deceive its readers–says this:

It is understood that GCHQ was at no point carrying out a targeted operation against Trump or his team or proactively seeking information. The alleged conversations were picked up by chance as part of routine surveillance of Russian intelligence assets. Over several months, different agencies targeting the same people began to see a pattern of connections that were flagged to intelligence officials in the US.

Therefore, your conclusions that “The Obama administration abused the power of the office to spy on a political opponent” and that “Trump was right all along” are, as of now, utterly baseless.

It is of course possible that GCHQ is lying and that this was an intentional political attack to target Trump. But as of now there is no evidence of that whatsoever. Trump’s claim that he was “wiretapped” by Obama remains baseless. The available facts at the moment suggest that British intelligence was doing legal surveillance of foreign operatives when they picked up on connections between the Trump team and Russia, and then legally (and responsibly) circulated that necessary information among other intelligence agencies.

In my view, Trump and his enablers’ attempts to make the intelligence community the bad guys here is a naked and transparent attempt to shift guilt. The troubling part here is that while monitoring foreign operatives, ties were found between Trump and Russia. Whether or not those ties are as sinister as the Left wants them to be is yet to be seen, but the facts should trouble everyone.

    • Tina says:

Chris don’t wag that finger at me until YOU read the links. Try this one that demonstrates media collusion.

The portion of the paragraph you posted from the guardian tells exactly what went on:

Over several months, different agencies targeting the same people began to see a pattern of connections that were flagged to intelligence officials in the US

      .

The Western world DID help! My conclusion is not “utterly baseless” and your unwillingness to even consider your party is capable of abusing such information is ridiculous given the goings on under Obama.

In addition to the facts, there are the LIES, repeated again and again by members of your party and the media. There was no intel that suggested Trump colluded with the Russians to defeat Hillary Clinton. CLEARLY the assertion that he did is an abuse of power!

As any person who’s paid attention over the last eight years knows, there is the intelligence community and then there’s the intel community with a private progressive agenda. It’s difficult to trust the intel community or any governmental department because of this. We watched as the FBI and our justice system failed to work as they should. We watched as Comey laid out an iron clad case for Justice to bring charges against Hillary Clinton and then declined to do so.

The free world is in a fight for it’s life. Radical progressives in all areas of government in the free world work to undermine our freedoms and the rule of law.

REPEAT: Nothing of substance was found on Trump in the ILLEGAL continuing surveilance and yet he was publicly accused of clandestine meetings with the Russians to tank Hillary’s election. THIS ORGANIZED TACTICAL ATTACK should be evidence enough to spark some curiosity in you. That it doesn’t is suggestive of a closed mind and or willing accomplice.

      • Chris says:

I did read the links, which is how I know both the Daily Wire and you misrepresented the Guardian.

But I don’t expect you to be any more willing to admit that then you ever were, every other time I caught you doing this.

Why would I read another Daily Wire link after I just proved that the one in this article is dishonest?

The Western World helped pass on information they uncovered in routine and legal surveillance of foreign operatives. You’ve provided no evidence that their surveillance targeted Trump or that it was illegal (putting the word in all caps is not evidence).

You don’t have to trust the intelligence community. But asserting as fact that what they did was illegal, when you have no such evidence, is no better than what you claim they are doing to Trump (and it should be noted that the intelligence community has not “accused” him of anything; they are conducting an investigation).

  2. Dewster says:

Tina What are you talking about? Read the Guardian Article.

The fact is Obama is wrong for not doing something. I am not an Obama fan but this ignorant Blame Obama crap seems to be so hard for you to let go of

This election should have never happened. Both candidates were under investigation, and likely both should have been thrown out.

I am well aware of what happened. THE EU countries picked up intel and gave it to the US. Ya see the discussions with foreign agents were suspicious to them. Fact is Trumps people are busted and the US is just sitting on all the info.

When you talk to foreign agents the calls are monitored. FACT.
Intel does that to every person who speaks to foreign agents.

Your phone calls are all recorded and stored. Get a Flipping Clue

    The Guardian:

GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added.

Over the next six months, until summer 2016, a number of western agencies shared further information on contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians, sources said.

It is understood that GCHQ was at no point carrying out a targeted operation against Trump or his team or proactively seeking information. The alleged conversations were picked up by chance as part of routine surveillance of Russian intelligence assets. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/apr/13/british-spies-first-to-spot-trump-team-links-russia

You repeated a propagandic spin of the original article.

Bottom Line Trump’s people were doing bad things that raised alarm!

Fact is Obama should have done something and let all the RW’ers squeal.

He was on his way out anyway who cares.

If Obama cost us 1/2 of what Trump does for security and golfed as much as Trump does RW’ers would have been fit to be tied.

The real DEAL is the ties to these Russians, his business deals or the ones he is trying to get,ect ect. There is a web of suspicious activity… you need to dig deeper.

Being Picked up talking to Russian Agents who are under surveillance by all these countries including the USA is on Trump. He is not a King. He is busted. I have much more info than what the guardian reported there.

Hillary Clinton and Donald J Trump are Criminals with no regard for the law or the USA.

The stupid election interference Russia did in our elections was the normal amount. They always do these things and we do it too!

Hillary Lost because she cheated in the Primary. Karl Rove Played her. And The GOP used Interstate Crosscheck in the Gen.

Both Parties cheated and yes Rove helped her in the Primaries then stuck it to her in the GEN< Shame on her and hahahaha.

Hillary lost cause we stuck to our guns and told her to take a hike.

Two criminals and the corrupt election system.

The DNC pushes this Russian narrative to cover their loss.

The Gop realizes Trump is in trouble and tries to spin the info as it breaks out to those who do not read real news.

Giulani tried to talk to the FBI and they said no thank you we do not need you.

Will either get busted or will they both be protected?

Sorry but you are way off base…………

  3. J. Soden says:

Meanwhile, NSA gained enough strength to collect data on millions of Americans and stores it at their ultra-security facility built in Utah with taxpayer $$. If you don’t think the NSA is NOT listening, think again!

C.J. Box’s “Off the Grid” is a great book about a fitting response to said facility.

    • Dewster says:

Yes The NSA and other intel agencies have crossed the line into police state. The fearmongering is a tool to take away our rights and the USA has a Stassi far more dangerous than ever seen before on Earth.

Take the fact that they can also collect someone and kill them on US soil without ever telling anyone. #NDAA Clause

Look time to wake up. All it takes is one big false Flag and Marshall law and the switch could be flipped.

  4. Pie Guevara says:

You mean that Obama cynically (and possibly illegally) sought out the intelligence apparatus of foreign governments to assist him in trying to influence an election?

    Oh, my stars and garters!

  5. Peggy says:

The article by Sharyl Attkisson still won’t post, even though I turned my computer off to reboot it. So, here is the info. to Google. It’s worth the read. Hopefully, this will post without the link.

Sharyl Attkisson laid out a detailed timeline of the surveillance done during Obama term.

    Obama-era Surveillance Timeline:
    April 16, 2017

“You can find many timelines that follow allegations of Russia tampering in the U.S. election and alleged involvement of Trump officials. But I couldn’t find any comprehensive timelines cross-referencing Obama-era surveillance of whistleblowers, journalists and other U.S. citizens with Russia surveillance allegations. So I built one. Please note: temporal proximity of events doesn’t necessarily imply a connection.”

    • Peggy says:

Hummm? I worked without the link.

      • Tina says:

Peggy and Pie your link revealed the following which is key to the alleged abuse of power by the Obama administration:

October 3, 2011: Obama administration secretly changes longstanding policy. The change creates a “loophole” that Sen. Ron Wyden would later say allows the NSA to conduct a “backdoor searches” or “incidental collection” of U.S. citizens’ domestic communications.

What do we have to do, hit them over the head with a brick?

        • Peggy says:

Hopefully, with a little time a brick won’t be needed. This timeline just like the one of the IRS and Lois Lerner’s involvement in targeting conservative and religious groups will find their way to the courts. Those found guilty of breaking our laws must be held accountable.

Jonathan Turley’s warning that Obama was getting away with what Nixon wished he could have was an opening door to future president’s behavior.

Power corrupts, always has and always will. My fear is if Obama isn’t held accountable Trump will open the door even wider and so will the next presidents.

      • Peggy says:

Thanks Pie, I can’t tell you how many times I tried to provide that link. I really admire Attkisson for her investigative research and sound reporting. She doesn’t do fake news and I thought her timeline was important enough to share. I owe you one.

  6. Pie Guevara says:

Oh my, The Guardian is (for some) the end all and be all of journalistic integrity. A last bastion of truth and justice.

In any case, this story will be going nowhere. The left will continue to try and float the phony and false narrative that Trump and/or his team members were colluding with Russians to fix the election by manipulation of information released to the press. And the left will continue to assert that this a significant part of the reason why Hillary lost. Trump, of course, will continue to say whatever he feels like saying and not give a crap what his detractors think about it. With all the reservations I have had and still have about Trump, I truly do love this about him. He drives the left completely bonkers.

Obviously Chris is now officially off from being banned from this blog. As such it will not be long before he is calling Jack and Tina and anyone else who disagrees with his political views racists, bigots, xenophobes, sexists, homophobes, Islamophobes and so on. You know, the usual tedious, mundane, uninspired progressive political narrative that worked so well for them this last election cycle.

Jack and Tina have always bent over backwards to always to be civil towards Chris. Their behavior towards him has always been exemplary — considerate, thoughtful, kind, patient and even loving. In return for the favor Chris has always made it his mission to mock, deride, ridicule and insult them at every opportunity, no matter how thin the excuse. He flogs this dead horse sometimes to the point of exasperating Tina which, doubtless, gives Chris a great deal of pleasure.

Chris’ nature and behavior is a paradigm of the of the progressive bestiary. It is part and parcel of an aggressive progressive political agenda intended to disrupt, divert and dissemble. On countless occasions Chris has demonstrated that he learned well the lessons of his spiritual and intellectual mentor Quentin Colgan, one of the most despicable and depraved human beings I have ever had the distinct displeasure of ever encountering. Chris will, from time to time, put together an occasional suck-up to give himself an aura of comity and reasonableness, but this obvious fraud never lasts long and is always crafted in a manner so as to massage his own ego.

While I certainly do not wish Post Scripts to be merely an echo chamber of conservative thought and opinion and have no problem with a diversity of views being expressed in these pages, I think a mistake is being made. To welcome back a vicious snake — for whom slur, slander and libel is not beneath — only serves to reinforce and justify Chris’ detestable behavior.

Nevertheless, if Post Scripts wishes to bend over and spread their cheeks so that Chris can get his jollies at their expense, who am I to criticize? Best wishes as always. You folks will always be swell in my book.

    • Tina says:

Do I hear you correctly? Are you unwilling to post here for the above stated reasons?

If so I am sad indeed for several reasons.

      1. Jack has not been as likely to engage Chris and in my opinion doesn’t deserve the harsh barb in your evaluation.

      2. Although I respect your opinion that I “bend over” and “spread” my “cheeks so that Chris can get his jollies” at “my expense,” I disagree with your evaluation and quite honestly mildly resent the lack of faith you have in me to, A. Counter the response, and, B. To take the below the belt hit.

      3. In the overall snapshot I believe our readers are bright enough to decide for themselves the type of person I am and the type of person Chris is.

      4. Your own communications have fallen short; a human response. I realize that these posts are often in defense of PS and I appreciate it but also realize it is not your responsibility.

      5. I truly enjoy your participation and miss you when you’re absent for whatever reason.

      6. To my knowledge there was no meeting to determine the return of Chris. I assume the decision was based on his refraining from certain specific abusive behavior.

My purpose in life has always been to learn through experience including, and perhaps even more so, through unpleasant and difficult eperiences. In every situation there is knowledge and or wisdom to be had. All of those who post here add to my experience and my own ability to communicate.

I hope you will continue to post comments on PS. If you choose to move on please know that I wish only the best for you.

    • Chris says:

Pie, address the argument. The Guardian may not be that great, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Daily Wire lied about what it said. The Gaurdian could be the worst paper in the world and that wouldn’t make how the Daily Wire intentionally misrepresented its report right.

      • Tina says:

        Pie did address the argument:

…this story will be going nowhere. The left will continue to try and float the phony and false narrative that Trump and/or his team members were colluding with Russians to fix the election by manipulation of information released to the press. And the left will continue to assert that this a significant part of the reason why Hillary lost. With all the reservations I have had and still have about Trump, I truly do love this about him. He drives the left completely bonkers.

You may be disappointed or disagree with his assessment of the situation but he did address the subject at hand.

        • Chris says:

Tina, he was responding to me, so I was telling him to address my argument; that the Daily Wire lied about what the Guardian said.

          Which they did.

Neither of you seem to care about that. Why not?

          • Tina says:

Your opinion that the Daily Wire lied is based on one aspect of the entire article which you honed in on to make your case. Your own assertion could be called a lie by that standard. Ignored is the there that is there.

An Andrew McCarthymight shed some light on the notion that something nefarious was going on:

To summarize, it appears there were no grounds for a criminal investigation of banking violations against Trump. Presumably based on the fact that the bank or banks at issue were Russian, the Justice Department and the FBI decided to continue investigating on national-security grounds. A FISA application in which Trump was “named” was rejected by the FISA court as overbroad, notwithstanding that the FISA court usually looks kindly on government surveillance requests. A second, more narrow application, apparently not naming Trump, may have been granted five months later; the best the media can say about it, however, is that the server on which the application centers is “possibly” related to the Trump campaign’s “alleged” links to two Russian banks — under circumstances in which the FBI has previously found no “nefarious purpose” in some (undescribed) connection between Trump Tower and at least one Russian bank (whose connection to Putin’s regime is not described).

That is tissue-thin indeed. It’s a good example of why investigations properly proceed in secret and are not publicly announced unless and until the government is ready to put its money where its mouth is by charging someone. It’s a good example of why FISA surveillance is done in secret and its results are virtually never publicized — the problem is not just the possibility of tipping off the hostile foreign power; there is also the potential of tainting U.S. persons who may have done nothing wrong. While it’s too early to say for sure, it may also be an example of what I thought would never actually happen: the government pretextually using its national-security authority to continue a criminal investigation after determining it lacked evidence of crimes.

It’s clear that you do not care that the former administration likely used it’s power to try to discredit and derail an opponent based on a lie. It’s pretty clear that you have no use for the rule of law except as it can be bent or misused to further a leftist agenda or garner power for your party.

  7. Dewster says:

Sooner or later you are going to have stop waving your flag and covering up for Trump.

Fact is He and his peeps were caught on intel by chance. It was Foreign countries that picked it up first.

And Also realize who Comey is. He was karl Roves top lawyer in one of his orgs.

These people all protect each other. Never have we been so close to to toppling the corrupt house of cards.

Trump is an insider not an outsider as well but he may be making enemies.

Like I said in an earlier post the Gang of 8 was briefed during the election and allowed 2 candidates under FBI investigation to proceed.

I was calling for a temporary halt to the election on the basis of all this during the election. You ignore info people give you.

    • Tina says:

Very good article J. It describes exactly what is happening in the radical left circles that tag team to make news to discredit and slime Trump and the conservative point of view. Too many see this as a form of entertainment and miss the fact that if we lose the rule of law all will be lost.

There’s way to much stooooooopid going on in this country.

  8. RHT447 says:

Well now. This is my shocked, stunned, and amazed face. Again.

    Special Report
Confirmed: John Brennan Colluded With Foreign Spies to Defeat Trump

    • J. Soden says:

Thank you RHT447! Not at all surprised. He was caught lying under oath to Clowngress, but received no penalty.
But the Dept of Jerks was a lapdog for Obumble then and Brennan’s lying was deemed acceptable.

    • Peggy says:

LOL Judge Napolitano was right about the Brit spy after all.

Looks like everyone in the Obama admin. were liars.

      Holder
      Rice
      Hillary
Obama (Liar of the year award)
      Clapper
      Brennan
      Pelosi
Reid (On and off the Senate floor.)
      Lerner
      Koskinen
      Debbie WS
      Brazil

I’m sure there are several more I forgot.

  9. Pete says:

My God…the election is over. Mr. Trump won. He is our President.

I see no common good in continuing to bring up President Obama. He’s history. Let us move forward and focus on the needs of our country, for there are many and they are far more important.

    • Tina says:

Pete, you’re right, of course. The short term goals must be given full attention. The people have done our part. We changed the power base in DC. Much requires their due diligence.

However, it is not a waste of time to use history as a guide to improve the future and avoid repeating mistakes. It is not a waste of time to continue to educate and inform about the importance of preserving our nations founding principles and demonstrating the we have abandoned these principles to ill effect.

The blog is organic, but never fear we will continue to press for positive changes to make our nation strong, safe and an economic powerhouse while creating conditions in which the people can thrive.

  10. Tina says:

Fantastic article RHT447. I have suspected the following for some time:

An official in the intelligence community tells TAS that Brennan’s retinue of political radicals didn’t even bother to hide their activism, decorating offices with “Hillary for president cups” and other campaign paraphernalia.

A supporter of the American Communist Party at the height of the Cold War, Brennan brought into the CIA a raft of subversives and gave them plum positions from which to gather and leak political espionage on Trump. He bastardized standards so that these left-wing activists could burrow in and take career positions. Under the patina of that phony professionalism, they could then present their politicized judgments as “non-partisan.”

Government and education embeds are similar to serial killers in that they look just like everyday people…they are experienced as attractive and friendly. It’s what we don’t know about them that would give us pause and then make the boil blood.

George Neumayr’s conclusion nails the covert game and explains a lot:

Furious with Flynn for his apostasy from political correctness, Brennan and other Obama aides couldn’t resist the temptation to take him out after rifling through transcripts of his calls with the Russian ambassador. They caught him in a lie to Mike Pence and made sure the press knew about it.

Were the media not so completely in the tank for Obama and Hillary, all of this political mischief would make for a compelling 2016 version of All the President’s Men. Instead, the public gets a steady stream of Orwellian propaganda about the sudden propriety of political espionage. The headline writers at Pravda couldn’t improve on this week’s official lie, tweeted out by the Maggie Habermans: “Susan Rice Did Nothing Wrong, Say Both Dem and Republican House Aides.”

Liberals pompously quote the saying — “the bigger the lie, the more it will be believed” — even as their media enshrine it. Historians will look back on 2016 and marvel at the audacity of its big lie: whispers of an imaginary Trump-Russia collusion that wafted up from the fever swamps of a real collusion between John Brennan and foreign powers seeking Trump’s defeat.

    Truth is lasting.

    • Peggy says:

Obama’s legacy written by his own party’s co-chair.

Ellison: Obama Deserves Blame for Democratic Losses:

“Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) said former President Obama is partially to blame for the Democrats’ poor showing at the polls in 2016.

Ellison, now the deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee, blamed Obama for ignoring party politics while he was in office, which he said had put the president’s legacy at risk.

“Look I’m a great fan of President Obama. I totally voted for many of the things he supported — Dodd Frank, Affordable Care Act, Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act — I could keep going,” Ellison said at an event Wednesday at the University of Minnesota.”
