Jack, they (the Dear Leaders, Senior and Junior, and his tiny generals) have been making the same silly noises for all my life. Does it occur to you that it doesn’t really matter, at all, if they develop transpacific capabilities? They use them and they are toast. And, while Little Fatty may lose sight of this main point from time to time, the little generals do not.
The entire problem, here and now, is with our little general.
Libby, the more time that passes, the more The Donald shows me he understands his limitations and defers to his team of experts. I am more than okay with that. Nobody could know it all, look what is asked of the #1 decision maker in the world? No single person could be that good in finance, war, diplomacy, trade, healthcare, etc., and even the best minds in the world with all the facts in hand can not guarantee a 100% correct decision. So, no I really don’t Trump as a guy with his finger on the nuclear trigger like you tend to characterize him. I’m trusting to the team of experts, because what else is there?
If the democrats were in there, would really be that much different? I don’t think so, although in Obama’s case he had a big enough ego that he probably thought he knew better than anyone else and that’s pretty scary to me. Didn’t it scare you?
Which experts are you referring to, Jack? Trump has said he’s put Jared Kushner in charge of establishing peace in the Middle East. Kushner has zero qualifications for such a job. Does that really sound like Trump knows which “experts” to defer to?
What qualifications are vital in your opinion?
And what evidence do you have that Kushner has “zero” of these qualifications?
Hillary Clinton was supposedly imminently qualified to be the Secretary of State…the world after her term was an absolute mess…worse off than when she took the helm.
Maybe the “qualifications” we’ve been relying upon are not all that great after all. Maybe someone who brings other than politics and tenure in politics will do a better job. He deserves a chance to show what he can do just like all of trumps advisors do.
They deserve to be judged by what they do rather than prejudged according to partisan, attitudinal opinion.
Tina, you know as well as I do that Kushner has no relevant experience that would apply to negotiating peace in the ME, so why would you pretend not to know that? Jack said that Trump relies on “experts,” and I pointed out that no, he relies on people like Kushner, who is absolutely not an expert on the ME. Again, you know this, which is why you didn’t list any of his qualifications for this job, and instead asked me pointless questions. Your stance is the partisan one; you only believe he “deserves a chance” because he’s working for a president and a party you like, not because he has done anything to deserve this position. You have blind faith in Trump and his people, and no rational case for it.
Uh-Huh. The previous crop of “experts” was pushing “WMD” as the big booga-booga. And they weren’t merely wrong … they lied like little doggies. I cannot believe I have to go through this again.
One more time … if we frighten NK into some nuclear stupidity … it’s on us, nobody else. We is supposed to be the grownups. And we wuz … until last November.
You “is” unable to evaluate what it is to be grown-up…obviously!
Unless you had parents that rolled over and bribed you with treats every time you screamed and stomped your little feet, you would know that the “grownups” don’t put up with bullying threats from out of control “children.”
WMD’s were a serious concern with Saddam. Must I pull all of the <a href="http://freedomagenda.com/iraq/wmd_quotes.html"quotes on Saddam and WMD from the Clintons, other Democrats, and leaders of foreign countries? How about just one:
NO ONE expected anything but that we would find WMD.
The turn coat left, opportunists and cowards all, conveniently slithered off to make political hay of the situation when no significant stash was found but they are ALL on record as believing the intelligence!
Sorry Libby but your assessment about the last occupant and his band of characters as “the grownups” is just too too funny. Denial about the failures to address serious problems successfully and the mess they left behind is staggering! Everything they used to run against GWB, the debt, the economy, the war…ALL are in worse condition.
Just forget it, lady, you have nothing on which to prop a complaint at this point.
Of course, as you know, many people expressed doubts about the WMDs prior to the invasion; we just chose not to listen to them.
What DOES matter is that the United States of America project strength and the willingness to follow through and not roll over when threatened!!!
A bulls eye on the White House is taken as a serious threat. The political symbolism points directly to the crap your party pulled on Sarah Palin when Gabrielle Giffords…the little creep pays attention to such tripe and knows exactly which Americans he is playing to…those who appease…he knows you have his back!
A strong response IS NOT an immediate call for war, as you progressives think.
Appeasing a bully, as you do, results in the spread of the threats (terrorism) across the globe. The stance creates the direct opposite of the thing you lefties claim to want…peace…human rights honored.
Have you learned NOTHING over the course of eight years of weenie leadership!!!!!?
Once again I am blown away at your phoniness. You continue to hold America in contempt for the decision to drop the bomb to end WWII. You worry endlessly over someone like Donald Trump (or RR) with his finger on the nuclear button, but a seriously deranged individual like Jong-Un, or the Ayatollahs in Iran, ain’t nothin’.
They only need to succeed once and a lot of Americans will die. In 2015 under President Obama Adm Bill Gortney told the press that they believed North Korea had developed “the capability to place miniaturized nuclear warheads on its latest KN-08 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). … The KN-08 is a road-mobile ICBM, meaning Pyongyang can move the launch system throughout the country. ‘It’s the relocatable target set that really impedes our ability to find, fix, and finish the threat,’ Gortney said. ‘And as the targets move around and we if don’t have the persistent stare and persistent [intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance] that we do not have over North Korea at this time, that relocatable nature makes it very difficult for us to counter it.'”
Japan, an ally, and Hawaii are closer targets.
It is the job of the President to do all he can to protect EVERY American. It is his constitutionally mandated job and it is an oath he has taken. Our Commander -in-Chief is NOT a problem. Your crap hippie dippy attitude is and has been the problem for some time. Little dictator types are popping up all over the place, making life miserable and deadly, ever since the appeasers of the world have gained in positions of power.
Sorry, Jack, to stomp all over this funny…and it is funny…but I’m up to my eyebrows with suck up lefty attitudes.
We had 8 years of hand-wringing from Obumble whenever there was a crisis, and he completely ignored NK.
Glad to see that the era of hand-wringing is over.
Chris: “…you know as well as I do that Kushner has no relevant experience that would apply to negotiating peace in the ME, so why would you pretend not to know that?”
I wasn’t pretending a thing. I was genuinely asking you what qualifications YOU think are needed to advise the president.
Valerie Jarret similarly advised Barack Obama. Her scant credentials were never questioned…nor were her bosses.
Kushner has experience dealing with influential people from his real estate and media holdings. Many of the same skills used to negotiate business deals are used in diplomacy. He certainly has the education you’d expect. And apparently he does have knowledge of the ME and is respected:
Once again…what qualifications do YOU think are needed to advise the President?
Thank you for clarifying your question, Tina.
Jarret had two decades of experience in politics before the election of Obama. Believe it or not, political experience matters. Trump didn’t have any either, and he’s slowly realizing this job isn’t as “easy” as he thought it would be.
Political advisers should have political experience.
Kushner commenced his political career at 16?
Tina, give it up. There is no defending the current administration … by any means … on any level.
Just hope we forebear to rub your nose into it on a daily basis … for we have ample means to do so.
