Bipartisan congressional negotiators have agreed to a sweeping $1.16 trillion omnibus spending bill for 2017. This is in total defiance to what Trump wanted them to do. And what Trump wanted to do was what the majority of Americans wanted to be done! We are worried sick that spending on a credit card year after year will inevitably cause a monumental economic disaster reaching far into future generations. There is no way around it, this is basic math folks. Yet, despite every campaign promise made by every Republican to cut the runaway spending and start paying off the massive debt that looms larger every day, they vote for massive, budget busting spending, go figure?
How could this happen? Better yet, how could it happen over and over, for decades, election after election? Don’t they have a shred of integrity? Don’t answer that, I’ve finally figured that one out for myself. As soon as they are elected they forget all those campaign promises and go right back to doing the same old thing. The excuse is always the same, “You just wait until next election!” Next election phooey… they will do as they damn well please.
Here’s an idea….There should be no more “next elections” for them. We need to start over. They people in power can’t be trusted. They have repeatedly broken their word. You would have to be a complete imbecile to trust anyone running for re-election after all these broken promises. They have brought this all on themselves by destroying the last bit of trust with the people of America. They do not deserve to be re-elected.
Trump’s election was supposed to send a strong message to Congress, that we are fed up with they poor way both republicans and democrats have been managing the people’s money! For awhile I thought they got it, but it looks like it’s going to take more than electing a president who doesn’t owe a thing to either side. I think its time we fired a whole lot of republicans and democrats. They’ve become deaf to the demands of the public and instead of doing what we want, they are solely focused on doing what they want! The consistently take the path of least resistance. These phoney bums are living the good life back in DC, with their fat salaries, Cadillac health insurance coverage and all sorts of perks you and I will never see, they need to go!
The irony here is at least the democrats are open about wanting big government and big spending. They tell us right up front they want big government and higher taxes. Even though I do not approve of their agenda it’s at least more honest that republicans lying about what they will do in Congress and then selling us out. Both sides are ruining us, so there’s no need to keep either side.
It’s time to run the carpetbaggers out of DC. Its time for the people to restore a competent and honest government. Trump can’t do it alone, it’s too much, only the public can do this one and we’ve got just the right tools…. the vote! Now it’s your turn.
DO NOT RE-ELECT ANYONE. A POX ON BOTH THEIR HOUSES.
Gonna be a cold day in Hades before I ever vote for an Incumbent again.
I was upset too when I heard what this CR contained, but then it was explained this is for Obama’s fiscal year budget which began Oct. 1, 2016. Obama Reid and Pelosi refusal to pass a budget created the necessity for CRs.
I’m going to wait now until Trump’s budget comes out for Oct. and what Congress passes before I decide how I’ll vote in the future.
J.Soden, I’m right there with ya.
What about the Demonrats in Colliefornia (as Ahnode calls it)?
They just jacked up the gas tax, the diesel tax, the car registration tax and implemented a new tax on electric vehicles. The tax on diesel will increase over 20 cents a gallon and the tax on gas over 12 cents a gallon starting November. The way they wrote the law, the tax on gas will go up another 7 cents about a year later. AND these tax increases are perpetual because they indexed the taxes to inflation so they will go up every year automatically.
Now, some people in So Cal want to recall the Demonrat b@stards who did this
“We are building a broad-based coalition, people are just fed up,” said former San Diego city councilman and GOP political activist Carl DeMaio, who hosts a local radio show. “This is rushed through and will hit working families pretty hard. It will cost an extra $300 to $500 per driver every year … This is the final straw.”
The three hosts plan on using their public platform to try recalling Orange County Democratic Sen. Josh Newman, who was elected to his first term last year by a narrow margin. He helped pass the gas tax, which was approved by state lawmakers with the exact number of votes required.
Newman is seen as the most vulnerable target in a bid to roll back the plan.
“Once he is recalled, we will issue an ultimatum: either you rescind the tax or we will go after you,” DeMaio said.
Newman’s office verified that he had been served last week with a recall notice.
Other foes include the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, which led a successful 1978 ballot measure to cap property tax increases, and Melendez, who says she has been overwhelmed with bipartisan complaints from her Southern California constituents.

Captain Jack and Miss Tina, if you can’t get on board with splitting the state can you at least get on board with recalling these r@t B@st@rd Demonrats until they cry uncle and rescind all these recent tax increases? If we don’t stop them now, I guarantee you more tax increases are coming. Is that what you want?
Joe I’m not sure what makes you think we’re not “on board” but perhaps we’re just not communicating.
What exactly do you expect from Jack and me, Joe?
He’s just blathering from deep inside the bubble. Joe, we are the 60 and you are the 30. Consequently, there will be no Republican assent in California, and there will certainly never be a split state. Rather than do all this completely unresonable blathering about stuff that’s unlikely ever to happen, why don’t you … go listen to Colbert’s Monday Monologue.
Oh, my … such language.
Libby, despite our political differences surely you must have found Colbert’s comments completely inexcusable, unprofessional, gratuitous and a new low for television media, right? It was a regrettable abused of the first amendment. You want to talk about hate speech, there you go, Colbert was out of line and should be fired. We don’t need that kind of talk on the airwaves, its filthy. It should be repugnant to any civil society, which apparently we are not, since he got away with it. Had the same low punches been served up on Obama during his misadministration there would be a firing and howls from the left, you know it! Hey, I think i just invented a new word…misadministration. That succinctly describes Obama’s stent in office. lol
I will listen to colbert before I comment.
That said cable has different rules. I do not like many things on TV like MSNBC and Fox where I have found blatant propaganda,
But here is the truth One group of people do not get to dictate what is on TV by their ideology.
I see churches down here in the south exploit the Bible and word of God to demand donations. I mean stuff like did your electricity go down?
That is GOD telling you to donate…ect ect
…How about no it was a Hurricane Mr foolish preacher…
So Change the channel – do not try to dictate
Think about it.
Now I will watch Colbert before I comment on it particularly.
In answer to you first question: Nope.
Colbert is a satirist, an entertainer, and he is entertaining … to some of us, anyway. (“The Apprentice” just isn’t my thing.)
And the unhappy fact is that your president says the most unpresidential things. In a free and open society, he will be called on it … in decidedly colorful language.
Suck it up.
What exactly do you expect from Jack and me, Joe?
How about starting a recall campaign for those county supervisors who would not allow us to vote on the issue?
You two have a lot of clout and I bet you could pull it off.
Now would be a good time to start because people are fired up about these recent tax increases.
I’m not aware of the “clout” we have you’d have to show me the evidence on that one, lol. But putting that aside, right back atcha! Why don’t you organize a recall vote? You could submit articles and post information to help in your effort.
The process for creating a separate state is long and arduous. I’m simply not up to much more than I’m doing right here.
But I do appreciate your confidence in the clout we have here at Post Scripts and I’m more than happy to post articles that could help to persuade the citizens and our leadership.
I’ve tried multiple times to get you to make separate posts for some very important articles and so far you have not and I do not know why.
I’ve tried once more with this posting earlier today. It contains two articles I would like to see as separate posts on Postscripts as I think these are important articles for everyone to see.
Here I try once more.
Below is an article I hope Mr. Jack and Miss Tina will make a separate post for.
This is an initiative that is worth supporting as Demorat politicians plan on using the fuel and vehicle tax increases for things other than roads, bridges and highways. And the tax increases are huge and do NOT include the increases in fuel costs due to the Cap And Trade tax that will be going up (and no one ever mentions the Cap and Trade tax when discussing CA’s fuel taxes).
These Demorats just jacked up the gas tax, the diesel tax, the car registration tax and implemented a new tax on electric vehicles.
Now someone is trying to do something about it.
Initiative filed to repeal California gas tax increase

Here is another very important article I hope Mr. Jack and Miss Tina will make s separate posting for.
In transportation tax rush, did Sacramento break the law?
http://www.ocregister.com/2017/04/16/in-transportation-tax-rush-did-sacramento-break-the-law/
And check the end of the article. Disgusting.
In addition to the billion dollars of “reward” written into SB132 on April 6, the bill was amended on April 5 to add $1 billion for “augmented employee compensation.”
Yes, another $1 billion of “compensation increases and increases in benefits” for state workers was slipped in while everyone was wondering where the state spent all our transportation taxes.
Talk about being taken for a ride.
And here is another article explaining why these tax increases are a bad idea. If you do just a tiny bit of research you can find many more articles on this subject.

The Conservative Treehouse “Budget Communications: OMB Director Mick Mulvaney Takes Point…” (video)
(scroll down for excellent Ramirez cartoon.
So … when (if ever) is it going to dawn on you … that it is not “them” … it’s YOU, who are unreasonable.
Look in the mirror, Libby. There is nothing “unreasonable” about this deal. Whats your problem? The system worked.
You didn’t get everything you wanted either.
Your most important loss was the fact that we will not be bailing out the insurance companies to save Obamacare from crumbling.
Next we will be funding, at a much higher rates, our military, our vets, and border security.
Go ahead and celebrate. Obama’s final budget got funded with only a few changes…but they were key changes.
One bite at a time, that’s how progressives bought us to this precipice.
We will not reclaim our nation all at once. We can expect to lose a number of battles. But the nation is still fed up. Anger at Republicans will not significantly translate to a swing back toward Democrats where nothing but misery resides.
Tina Marco Rubio undermined the ACA with a bill in 2014. FACT
Second I can not wait til People see the bull in this bill and it harms millions. We will collect people to fight for single payer.
But Bail out the Insurance Companies? Why are you clueless on what really goes on? You buy the bull.
and why are you against allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices like the Ins companies do? GOP votes no every time. The gov has to pay more!
So Hey what are you really PROTECTING in the GOP BILL (the Dems are quite OK with it as well)
Those Poor Poor CEO’s Raking in the dough!
CIGNA – David Cordani $27.2 Million $104,479 per DAY!
UnitedHealthCare – Stephen Hemsley $66.1 Million $254,328 per DAY!
CENTENE – Michael Neidorff $28.1 Million $107,796 per DAY!
aetna – Mark Bertoloni $15.0 Million $57,745 per DAY!
Humana – Bruce Broussard $13.1 Million $50,319 per DAY!
Anthem – Joeseph Swedish $8.1 Million $31,016 per DAY!
You’re simply too stoooopid to realize it but those CEO salaries are a drop in the bucket compared to the expenses and payouts of the insurance companies they run.
To imagine the US government would manage that money at a lower cost to the people is delusional. They want the money and the control…they don’t give a rip about the state of our healthcare, the debt that would explode, or the higher taxes, hidden taxes, hidden fees, cost of administration, cost of regulations and tax preparation, wait lists, denied care, and God knows what else. In England they have a horrible record of service…just like some of our government run VA hospitals.
You know who likes universal healthcare…people who have no health issues and people who won’t be called upon to foot the bill. In nature we call them parasites.
That utopian dream of yorus is really, really stooopid.
Oh and by the way those CEO’s need a tax cut to. They thank you for your support
Of course THEY don’t need it.
The people who need for them to have it are the jobless, the people paying high deductibles and premiums, the small business man that can no longer sustain because he doesn’t have enough customers because nobody has extra money…that’s who needs the CEO’s to get a tax cut.
But in reality under Trumps proposal some of them may end up paying more tax…just a lower percentage…gosh you are stooopid.
Like talking to a brick wall.
