   I am a 7 year USAF veteran and lived with blacks, Mexicans, , Italians, Irish, Polacks, American Indians, as an enlisted man before pilot training, both stateside and overseas.
   We worked together, ate together, showered together,drank beer together, in a single story barracks that held 100 men. There was never a racial slur or denigration. Then in 1960, the Democrats took over and we got LBJ! He was a liar that saw an opportunity to divide and conquer. He killed 68,000 American boys in Vietnam who all bled red!

     While you were living with “blacks, Mexicans, Italians, Irish, Polacks, American Indians” in the barracks prior to Johnson, blacks were beginning to thrive and climb the ladder of success in America. Walter Williams has written about it:

     Today’s level of lawlessness and insecurity in many black communities is a relatively new phenomenon. In the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s, people didn’t bar their windows. Doors were often left unlocked. People didn’t go to bed with the sounds of gunshots. What changed everything was the liberal vision that blamed crime on poverty and racial discrimination.

     Johnson’s Great Society, along with the sexual “revolution,” the denigration of faith, and mainstreaming and glorifying drug use, destroyed the family and severely destroyed chances for success for many kids across America and especially poor blacks.

     Although affirmative action and social welfare programs helped to lift some from poverty they worked negatively more often and in devastating ways. Now we have generations of welfare poor growing up in single parent families and educated in very poor schools where too many fail to learn or just drop out…criminal activity has skyrocketed:

     Many of the same social problems highlighted in a landmark 1965 study on black family structure have only worsened over the last 48 years and are now causing similar hardship for white and Hispanic families.

     That’s a major finding of a new report by the Urban Institute, a liberal think tank, which re-examines the circumstances of black families nearly five decades after former Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan authored the controversial report, “The Negro Family: The Case for National Action.” …

     … By 2009, nearly 75 percent of black births, 53 percent of Hispanic births and 29 percent of white births were outside of marriage, according to the report.

     A decline in marriage rates has followed the same path. In 1960, more than half of all black women were married, along with more than 66 percent of Hispanic and white women. By 2010, just 25 percent of black women, 40 percent of Hispanic women and half of white women were married.

     “That the decline of traditional families occurred across racial and ethnic groups indicates that factors driving the decline do not lie solely within the black community, but in the larger social and economic context,” the report finds.

     Acs said that the Moynihan report’s main conclusion about the importance of traditional families has been vindicated by research that shows children from two-parent families typically fare better educationally, financially and emotionally.

     “Family structure is important,” he said. “Fathers do matter.”

     To improve prospects for struggling black families, the report calls for reducing structural barriers to black economic progress, enhancing the incentives for working in the mainstream economy and improving family dynamics.

     Fostering and feeding the notion that racism is rampant in this nation and convincing blacks that white Americans hate and work against them feeds a political tactic of the radical left…it does nothing for the black community or America at large.

     We are not a racist nation. We are a nation that supports and celebrates equality, freedom and prosperity for all. As human beings raised under these ideal we recognize that success is the result of the effort and good choices of individuals. We’ve seen people of all races rise from poverty through effort and work. We’ve seen people from the poorest to the most wealthy fall into lives of destitution and crime.

     But I feel a certain sense of hope about the future. I think divisive politics is beginning to blow up in radical left faces now…it’s about time too. We don’t want or need that kind of truly low down and dirty politics that has been the mainstay of Democrat politics since Johnson…and as we know from history was a staple in particular of Southern Democrat politics as demonstrated in the despicable acts of the KKK.
