Cohen Offices and Home Raided by NY Office of FBI

Trumps lawyer, Michael Cohen, has been given the same thug treatment afforded Trumps former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, treatment usually reserved for drug dealers and mafia thugs…

Robert Mueller apparently passed information he uncovered during his “Russia probe” to the New York office of the FBI which proceeded to obtain FISA warrants to raid Michael Cohen’s office, his home, and a Park Avenue hotel where he’s been staying. Meuller is required to turn any information unrelated to his probe over to Rod Rosenstein. Once again the law may have been severely bent in the relentless pursuit to drive Trump from office.

FISA warrants are only issued when a crime is suspected. As far as I know, there isn’t a law against creating a contractual agreement among adults, so information regarding the Stormy Daniels soap opera can’t be all they were hoping to find in what appears to be an extension of a very long and suspect witch hunt. Concerns that campaign finance laws were broken is the excuse that’s been given but wishful thinking is not evidence so they better damn well have provide evidence of an actual crime.

Cohen’s attorney responded today:

“Today the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York executed a series of search warrants and seized the privileged communications between my client, Michael Cohen, and his clients,” Ryan said in a press release Monday afternoon.

“I have been advised by federal prosecutors that the New York action is, in part, a referral by the Office of Special Counsel, Robert Mueller.”

Ryan called the warrants “completely inappropriate and unnecessary,” saying they “resulted in the unnecessary seizure of protected attorney client communications between a lawyer and his clients.”

Alan Dershowitz expressed grave concerns for attorney client privilege after hearing about the raid:

“This is a very dangerous day today for lawyer-client relations” … Dershowitz, who has drawn the ire of Democrats for defending Trump, said Mueller’s move is also dangerous because it gives the FBI the option of deciding what information seized from Cohen to pursue.

“I tell [clients] on my word of honor that what you tell me is sacrosanct,” he said. “And now they say, just based on probable cause … they can burst into the office, grab all the computers, and then give it to another FBI agent and say, ‘You’re the firewall. We want you now to read all these confidential communications, tell us which ones we can get and which ones we can’t get.'”

“If this were Hillary Clinton being investigated and they went into her lawyer’s office, the ACLU would be on every television station in America, jumping up and down,” he added.

“The deafening silence from the ACLU and civil libertarians about the intrusion into the lawyer-client confidentiality is really appalling,” Dershowitz said.

The famed law professor said Mueller’s move will only convince more people not to cooperate and said he believes Mueller has “lost perspective” in the case.

Who will step forward to reign in the out of control biased agents and lawyers running this political sham? It looks like no one will. America will not stand if those who are meant to serve the people are allowed to run open loop in a political targeting game. I sure hope the American people are as fed up with this as I am and will send a loud clear message to the corrupt political party that’s responsible.

Oh, this is just peachy keen, Mr. Obama
Obama secretly violated the US sanctions and gave Iran access to US financial institutions. Aren’t such violations by American citizens or entities prosecutable under US law?

Are you listening, Democrats? Civil rights leader Reverend Al is one sharp dude. It is time to buckle down and charge full scream ahead. Don’t double down, quadruple down! This is a sure ticket to success. You simply are not nasty enough yet.

What’s up with this article dated April 9, 2018? A glitch in the ER server?

    • Tina says:

Peggy I think you must be right. Something evil has absconded with our content from April 9 forward.

I see Jack posted an article, however so, at least we can still move on.

Hi Peggy, I think the ER is suffering a major malfunction. Not sure if its a virus or hacking or what? The server has been acting up for several weeks.

Something weird was also going on with phone lines in Chico yesterday too. At the doctor yesterday the receptionist said offices all over town were having problems with phones and faxes. When I called mine I got a message the number had been disconnected and was no longer in service.

Hopefully, the problem is solved and it’s just a one time occurrence.

From the National Review (caution, graphic language) —

Time’s Up, Democrats. Throw Bill Clinton under the Bus.

    NOOOOOOOO!

Democrats, feminists, media, this is BAD advice. Keep those Clinton kneepads on. For both Bill and Hillary. To do anything else would show a critical public* your lack of resolve and steadfastness. Following this advice you will end up looking weak and hypocritical.

*You know, the great, unwashed masses of the little people who vote Democrat.

      Great article.

Billy doesn’t get it, the media doesn’t get it, his sycophantic followers and hangers on don’t get it, nor do quite a few in the so-called #MeToo movement.

I think one possible reason is that their own personal closets are chock full of similar sleaze.
