Kavanaugh Hearings Begin in Chaos

Posted by Tina

The hearings to confirm (or reject) the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court opened today in chaos as Democrats repeatedly challenged the process in a delay and disrupt campaign initiated by Chuck Schummer. Protesters, whose screams intermittently punctuated the chaos, were quickly removed from the chamber. One protester screamed, “This is a mockery. This is a travesty of justice. Cancel Brett Kavanaugh, adjourn the hearing.” Protesters were led by members of the Women’s March, including Linda Sarsour. The hearings became so contentious and disruptive that Mrs. Kavanaugh chose to remove her children, aged ten and thirteen, from the room. Senator Dick Durban defended the uncivil proceedings in remarks praising the protesters, “What we’ve heard is the noise of democracy.” Is that what he calls it! Brett Kavanaugh had to sit through all of this hysterical nonsense. Games!

The American people are growing tired of such outburst by adults who’ve been given a specific job. The people are growing tired of protests to block and disrupt the business of the Senate in such hearings. The protesters, including Democrat leaders who engage in protest rather than performing their duties, are attempting to nullify the election outcome in defiance of the American people and the American form of government.

Unfortunately, the Democrat Party and it’s leadership have devolved into an angry activist organization. They’ve hung their hats on divide and concur tactics that pit groups against each other, defy the Constitutionally ordered process, and champion radical or fringe elements…no time for actual governance.

The time to protest and petition has passed. The election was almost two years ago. Elections have consequences. Kavanaugh was nominated by the President two months ago. Senators, their staffs, and constituents have had plenty of time to investigate and consider Kavanaugh’s record. The disruption today was nothing but a childish tantrum by a party that just can’t get over the fact that they lost in 2016.

A blow by blow account is available at Powerline.

Let the hearings commence with statements and questions for the candidate from both Democrats and Republicans, per procedure, and then let a vote be taken. The candidate, no matter whom he may be, deserves nothing less. That’s the process. That is the American way.

Blumenthal admitted it as well. And all of these Demwits have announced they will oppose Kavanaugh yet they demand more “documents?” Hope Grassley drops the hammer on the disrupters and calls for their removal. And I’m not talking about the audience!

Expect to see many TV clips of Demwits Behaving Badly in the upcoming GOP campaign ads . . . . . .

Fortunately we don’t have to listen to the tantrums. I switch over to something more edifying, like Gilligan’s Island, or Joanie Loves Chachi. In the meantime, I comfort myself with the knowledge that Trump haters everywhere are behaving the same as the Democrat Congresspersons. If that doesn’t help push the next elections in the right direction, I don’t know what will.

      Cherokee Jack —

I hate everything about Trump except for what he has done to profoundly reduce absurd regulations, reduce taxes to spur economic growth, send the economy and jobs market on an upward trend, stand for national integrity and government serving citizens in favor of illegal aliens. opposing the open border (aka open boarder) policies of the Democrat Party, and challenge unfavorable, giveaway trade agreements.

It is still less than two years, we will see.

By the way, Green Acres beats the living crap out of your fav TV.

I love the protesters who collaborated with the Democrat Party to make their side of the aisle look like a car full of sad clowns.

Pie, I think I referred to a couple of TV programs that were more edifying than the hearings. Not my “fav TV.” For pure enjoyment I might go for Green Acres, but it lacked the artistic qualities of My Mother the Car.
About your feelings for Trump: We had two choices. Did you like Hillary’s personality and sense of decency better? Same question for the previous president. Never mind their policies.

Opposition to Trump has become an obsession.

Left radicals with a specific cause are outraged against him because he is a strong Constitutionalist. They would treat any of Trumps picks the same way because that is what Trump looks for in in his nominees.

Anyone who thinks the Constitution is a “living document,” to be altered at the whims of any generation, would also oppose Kavanaugh.

Merrick Garland had questionable Second Amendment issues. He joined with other judges in a “failed bid to reconsider the landmark case that would eventually establish the Second Amendment’s protection of a personal right to bear arms,” according to Washington Times.

“… I’m not going to agree to sabotage qualified picks just because Trump picked them.”

      Good.

I’ve hated these hearings since the Democrats delivered that “high tech lynching” of Clarence Thomas during his hearings, one of their most despicable political moments in my lifetime.

Excellent, Peggy. I always learns something when Ted Cruz speaks. He has a way of clarifying the situation.

I don’t have a problem with Kavanaugh. The outrage against him isn’t really about him. A large part of it is opposition to Trump. Another is revenge for what Republicans did to Merrick Garland.

But I for one think Democrats should be the bigger people here. I will give credit to Trump for one thing: his court picks have been generally well-qualified and non-extremist people. We should take that as a good thing. I’m all for resisting Trump when it’s warranted, but I’m not going to agree to sabotage qualified picks just because Trump picked them.

I have been glued to the hearing on CSPAN and pretty much ignoring everything else. CSPAN, the best reality television there ever was and ever will be when they are serving as live recorder.

    Who is Zina Bash?

I’ll tell you who she is. Zina Gelman Bash is a former Kavanaugh clerk. Bash has a Mexican mother and a Jewish father and her Polish grandparents survived Nazi death camps.

She is married to U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas John Bash III and they have a daughter, Maria Izabella (nicknamed Mabel).

She has worked in Washington D.C. since 2007 and is a seasoned political and judicial mover who has worked for Senator John Cornyn and on Ted Cruz’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Bash was chosen as on of The Hill’s “50 Most Beautiful” list (http://thehill.com/50-most-beautiful/2017/343749-zina-bash) who “says that her favorite thing to do when the workday ends is to sing to her daughter, Mabel, in Spanish.”

So, who is Zina Bash to the left? She is the smug, smirking, neo-Nazi sitting behind Kavanaugh who has worked in the evil Trump White House.

This is the left for you. Anyone who is not a member of their ugly tribe is fair game for character assassination. No, I will not link to the vile left’s horrid, non-factual, vicious and completely asinine statements about her. They are a tissue of lies uttered by hate driven morons who see everything through an extremist filter.
