HOW HARD CAN IT BE… to stand when the US flag is presented and the national anthem plays?

HOW HARD when men have risen from lowly slave to NFL star…and more…Justice of the Supreme Court…President!

HOW HARD, when you consider everything America has suffered, endured, overcome, and accomplished over the course of her short history and in the name of equality and God given rights.

The first important step was made by the Founders who formally declared our independence with the intent to live under God’s command that all people are created equal and endowed with inalienable rights: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

Heated debates in Congress and a bloody Civil War cost our nation dearly in blood, treasure and human suffering. Battles to overcome old prejudices pressed the people of this nation onward toward living by the standards of our founding. Opportunity opened in many parts of the country, the military took a stand, and more battles in Congress culminated in the Martin Luther King era that crushed the last vestiges of the KKK and the oppression of Southern Democrats and Northern elites.

Onward we forged as a nation and minorities found acceptance and inclusion in schools and universities, the work force, entertainment, sports, television, commercials and ads, in medicine, the law, banking, business…and in the field of creative entrepreneurship. Yes, minority Americans have pursued happiness and succeeded, some of them spectacularly!

America does live up to that moral standard created in The Declaration of Independence…and Americans are damn tired of being told we don’t!

Perfect we are not, nor will we ever be! People are not perfect beings. The divisive problems present today are social and individual problems. Many have been generated through social and political propaganda and promoted by activist groups whose mission is to create anger, division, and strife…to create chaos and a sense of hopelessness.

These problems can only be addressed by individuals and local communities.

Recently Nike brand chose to use as it’s spokesperson a disgruntled man that has declared his allegiance to activism, a man that denigrates and demeans our nation’s police officers, military, and flag. Last week certain credit card companies refused to process donations to the David Horowitz Freedom Center. This week Levi brand has teamed up with Bloomberg to fund anti-gun rights groups.

Lines are being drawn ever more brightly prior to the coming election cycle. The people, as always, will have the final word. It’s a free country, after all!

We at Post Scripts respect our nation and our nation’s flag…we respect those who put their lives on the line every day to protect and defend our country and it’s people. And we will no longer tolerate fake narratives designed to brand and label so many of us as racist or bigoted and in the process, trash our nation’s symbols and reputation.

America is a wonderful country. Proud Americans believe in our country and the founding principles of equality, equal justice, and God given rights. It’s time to reject the divisive messages of those who shout bigot and racist…we are not hyphenated Americans, we are just Americans. It’s time we walked that walk, together. How hard can it be?

    Blah, blah, … blah, blah, … blah, blah, blah. You at Post Scripts … don’t know which end is up. And when you are most cornered … as by the conduct of your doofus in the White House (in this country, we do not sick the DOJ on editorial writers), this is is the sort of rambling, psuedo-patriotic, bilge you come out in.

    Substance … not symbolism. And the substance of the current administration is bilge, on the foreign policy level, anyway. Domestically … well, we won’t know for a year or two just how big a hole the Republicans’ gift to themselves has blasted into the recovery. But just as I promised to rub your noses into The Donald’s Doings … I will keep you apprised of your RINOs gifts TO YOU!

      You would perhaps prefer the many methods used by the former president? (Links to sources are provided within the Breitbart article):

      1. Campaign plane “hijacking” journalists. In 2008, the Obama campaign flew 25 members of the media to Chicago — without telling them then-Sen. Obama was not, in fact, on board. CNN reported: “[T]he press was essentially held hostage with no candidate and no choice but to fly to Chicago on a chartered plane.”

      2. Closing White House events to all but the official photographer. Obama barred the media from events — including, ironically, an award ceremony where he was recognized for “transparency” — and often restricted photographers’ access, only releasing images taken by the official White House photographer.

      3. Trying to shut out Fox News. The Obama administration targeted Fox News for isolation and marginalization, arguing that it was not a legitimate news organization but “the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party.” That served as a warning to other potentially critical outlets.

      4. Stonewalling FOIA requests. The Obama administration “set a record” for failing to provide information requested by the press and the public under the Freedom of Information Act. The low point was Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, where tens of thousands of emails were hidden on a private server and deleted.

      5. Prosecuting journalists and their sources. The Obama administration pursued Fox News reporter James Rosen’s private emails — then misled Congress about it.(They also targeted Rosen’s parents!!!) CNN’s Jake Tapper — to his credit — pointed out that Obama had used the Espionage Act against leakers more than all of his predecessors combined.

      6. Wiretapping the Associated Press. After the Obama administration’s snooping on the AP was exposed in 2013, a senior NBC correspondent excused President Obama on the grounds that he would not have been nasty enough to alienate “one of the president’s most important constituencies, the press.”

      7. Refusing to hold press conferences. For long stretches of his presidency, Obama refused to hold press conferences at all, going 10 months without a formal press conference in a critical stretch from 2009 to 2010. He heeled the lowest average annual number of press conferences of any president since Ronald Reagan.

      8. Filibustering at press conferences. When Obama did, finally, hold press conference, he often limited the number of questions by delivering long, rambling, often condescending answers. He “wastes reporters’ time by refraining from answering questions with any candor,” Jack Shafer complained in Politico in 2016.

      9. Attacking tough questions. When a Major Garrett of CBS actually asked a tough question — about why the administration seemed not to be trying hard to free Americans held by Iran, including Washington Post journalist Jason Rezaian — Obama scolded him: “Major, that’s nonsense, and you should know better.”

      10. Appearing on fringe outlets. While media elites gripe about conservative journalists being given a chance, Obama often restricted his appearances to fringe media: Inside Edition; Funny or Die’s Between Two Ferns (which was then nominated for an Emmy); YouTube stars; and a radio show called “Pimp with a Limp.”

      11. Iran deal “echo chamber.” The Obama administration created “fake news” to support the Iran deal, setting up what it later boasted was an “echo chamber” of “experts” who would comment in the media to support the White House narrative on the negotiations. Meanwhile, key details were hidden from the public.

      According to reports at the time from even New York Times journalists, no administration was tougher on leakers and punishing to the media than Obama’s, a saga reinforced by reporters who have called Trump’s team more forthcoming.

      Criticism of Obama’s attacks on the media and leakers did not just come in tweets and TV appearances by journalists but in an official report from the Committee to Protect Journalists, authored by former Washington Post Executive Editor Leonard Downie Jr.

      “This is the most closed, control freak administration I’ve ever covered,” said David E. Sanger, veteran chief Washington correspondent of The New York Times, in the report.

      USA Today said of the report, it “portrays an administration gripped by strict policies about information flow and paranoid about leaks across all executive branch departments.”

      It detailed prosecutions and even the use of lie-detectors on staffers.

        Tina … you’re right, the O-Man ran a very tight ship, media-wise … but he did NOT tweet threats of legal harassment or imprisonment to journalists. Your boy makes a habit of it, and it simply will not do.

          So, if Obama did it, it’s a “tight ship” and of Trump suggests it, especially on a toothless social platform, he’s the devil incarnate.

          Ridiculous.

          So your media says…but for a “fissured bulkhead” the Trump team sure has gotten a lot accomplished in a very short time!

          That beats pretty (empty symbolic) speeches every time.

          Could be this is what has all of you in such a panicked frenzy.

          You can make assertions all you want, it doesn’t make what you say true. Trump has demonstrated his management skills openly in meetings with leadership in Congress, with large and small business entities, with security officials and in international meetings. Presidents don’t “manage” the staff’s underlings…not his job.

          Did you know that a NYT anonymously sourced story in the past was investigated? Guess what they discovered! An obscure intern was the so-called high level source of the leaked information.

          Fake news, Libby, lots and lots of fake news.

            You are trying to compare apples and oranges, Tina. Informing STAFF that they will be sacked if they leak confidential information is NOT the same as threatening to charge JOURNALISTS with treason and have them jailed.

            These are two completely different categories. Staff, by accepting employment, agree to abide by company rules. A journalist’s job is to do no such thing. You know, you do this a lot.

            It’s interesting, in fact, that the O-Man was able to enforce his strictures by the force of his character, but The Donald’s “character” motivates his staff to sneak around behind his back … big time.

    We’ll never know what America would be today if the KKK, the Dem’s military army, hadn’t killed and intimidated black republicans and their supporters during Reconstruction.

    If only our schools were teaching the truth about Blacks being suppressed by democrats the party would not exist today. And all Blacks would have continued to gain equality as many had after the Civil War, which was fought and won for them.

    Also, a reminder to democrats, the first black elected and seated to congress was a republican. “In May 1874 he became the first African American representative to preside over a House session.”

    Rainey, Joseph Hayne:
    “In 1870 Republican Joseph Hayne Rainey became the first African American to be elected to the United States House of Representatives and take his seat. Others were elected earlier but were not seated.

    Once back in the state, he joined the executive committee of the newly formed South Carolina Republican party. In 1868 he was elected a delegate to the state Constitutional Convention.       Peggy education is one of the most important fronts in our battle to MAGA! Our kids have been poorly served and are all too often unprepared for adult life. Information like this exposes racism activist as the charletons and fear mongers they are. The worst of them teach and preach hatred and resentment toward whites. All of it needs to be exposed to the sunlight for all to see. Farrakhan and Jeremiah Wright both preach hatred and resentment toward whites…those chickens are now coming home to roost as blacks wake up to the game.

    Democratic SuperPAC Files ‘Perjury Charges’ Against Brett Kavanaugh. There’s Just One BIG Problem.

    Well, okay, there are at least two big problems.

    A group calling itself “The Democratic Coalition” “filed” what they called “perjury charges” with the Public Integrity Section of the U.S. Department of Justice, Saturday, claiming that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh committed perjury in his Senate confirmation hearings.

    They were very excited about the charges, and even added that they planned to take the case directly to the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, where it would be heard by none other than former Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland.

    There are a few problems. For starters, one can’t simply “file” perjury charges: that’s the U.S. government’s job in cases where someone may have intentionally lied under oath in a federal hearing. The U.S. attorney general typically does not follow up on random complaints lodged with its fax machine during off hours and over weekends by issuing a warrant for the subject’s immediate arrest and detention.

    Then, there’s the matter of Merrick Garland. He’s a court of appeals judge, which means he won’t be hearing an immediate plea to censure Kavanaugh for what The Democratic Coalition calls “ethical violations.” Those would need to be filed with the body that holds Kavanaugh’s law license, not a United States District Court, and certainly not a court that only takes cases up on appeal from an earlier judicial decision.

    So, basically, The Democratic Coalition filed their groundbreaking perjury claim … with Twitter. Which … okay.

    You didn’t bother to read the article I posted did you!!!

    He didn’t just inform leakers they would be sacked…he forced them to take lie detector tests.

    And he used the power of government (NSA) to SPY on James Rosen and his parents and the AP!!!

    It seems to have been SOP in his administration. “Staff” in his IRS, DOJ, FBI have all abused their power for political purposes.

    Twitter is not to be taken too seriously…he does like to pull your chains.

    Bull pucky! The NSA was never intended for use against US citizens. James Rosen and the AP became his targets. I’d say the man has two faces…the one he shows to the public is the one you buy into. The one he hides is very deceitful and not to be trusted.

    Your party threatened to impeach Trump BEFORE the inauguration. Your party has done nothing but harass and threaten Trump from day one. Tell me Libby, what crime is Trump accused of in the very expensive Mueller probe? Deep state continues in the Obama era corruption and abuse of powers.

    In Trump what you see is what you get. I prefer the transparency.
