Alexandria Ocasio Cortez made a huge discovery yesterday. But, she was so horrified by it that she reached out to her several followers on Instagram, asking what she should do?
What was the discovery that had her so unnerved and perplexed, you may wonder? It was a garbage disposal that came with her new apartment. She quipped, “There’s a monster living in my sink. It’s terrifying. I’ve never seen one of these before.” She sought advice, questing if this device was environmentally sound?
Well, isn’t she just the cutest lil thing? Sure glad she’s in Congress making decision to shape the future of America. I’m hoping her next discovery will be with a document called the U.S. Constitution. She should read it, it might help her understand her role in Congress.
You’re probably thinking, this is a spoof, right? Oh would that it were, but, it’s for real and here’s the link.
So I just watched the video, and I took it as her trying to be be quirky and funny to make a point. I personally related to the line, “Is this what social mobility is? Finding new kitchen appliances that you’ve never had before?” I never had a garbage disposal or a dishwasher growing up. I doubt that she genuinely hasn’t seen one before; she was just joking about being somewhat excited and nervous about having something that she didn’t have growing up.
It may also double as a troll job on the right: the first conservative blog to do an in-depth investigation of whether AOC had a garbage disposal in her last apartment loses. But I wish our politicians wouldn’t troll.
