I don’t blame the nation’s entire police force. But the fact is that many of them are causing further harm to normal peaceful citizens. We have seen moms teargassed, navy vets beaten, cameramen punched in the face, old men pushed down on the concrete, and even people standing on their porches pepper-sprayed as police fail to distinguish between rioters, looters, and arsonists and those who are lawfully gathered for a peaceful protest. And if you haven’t seen these things, you may be in a bubble, meaning you need to actively look for them. Again: one of the things police could do to end or at least de-escalate these protests would be to stop committing police brutality at the protests. But it just keeps happening. So the protests will keep happening, too.
One Criminal given the sendoff deserving of someone who honored life and gave to society instead of being a burden. That best describes Saint Floyd.

Now there’s a peaceful de-escalating action that hasn’t been tried by your protesters, but then that doesn’t make headlines, it just quells the issue until a better moment.

On a daily basis police officers risk not returning to their family, while preforming their sworn duty, so far we lost 74 of them this year alone, but not one GOLDEN sendoff to honor the fact they gave their all to protect us.
Nope, to get that golden send off, it seems you need to break the law, not enforce it.

It is precisely because I believe in the standards of our justice system, and that they should be applied to everyone equally, that I object so strongly to what was done to George Floyd. Floyd did not to see the inside of a court of law for the small offense he was committing when he was arrested. The police ensured that by killing him in the street.
The officers have not had their rights violated in any way. Nothing has been done to them outside of the legal system. And yet you look at them and say that somehow they are not getting fair treatment while saying nothing of the treatment of Floyd! You need to do some self-reflection and seriously examine what biases would cause you to apply such a blatant double standard.
If “rule of law” means a standard that applies to all people, then I am all for it.
If “rule of law” means police and powerful people can enforce the law as brutally as they want on some people while escaping accountability for lawbreaking themselves–which is how Trump uses the term, and the only plausible interpretation of how you are using it here–then I want nothing to do with it.
