They never quit do they Peggy? This is why eternal vigilance is necessary. We’ll be watching but I doubt it has a prayer of passing. I don’t think we are that far gone…yet.
This bill is similar to one presented in 2011. Looks like they’re not going to give up trying either. They got ObamaCare passed, just think of what they could do in 2014 if they get the House back and have total control again.
I wouldn’t put it past him to try and/or use Executive Order to get what he wants. Remember the mayor of NY got his extended for a third term. So it is possible.
Vigilant watch? You bet, but we all need to realize we have a very powerful opponent who believes our laws do not apply to him.
Rep. Serrano (D-NY 16th) has been doing this for years and it never gets past an introduction to the house. Don’t worry about it. It’s not the President it’s just 1 member of the house that thinks this should be the law. As a note, he also introduced this same resolution on January 3, 2001 after Bush had been elected our president.
Not sure I’d call him crazy, for the framers of our constitution didn’t place a term limit on the President. The 22nd amendment was passed by congress in March of 1947 and it was ratified by the states in February of 1951. A very good argument could be made for the abolishment of the 22nd amendment. As it stands a very good argument was made for the amendment. I have no idea why Sen. Serrano keeps introducing this bill. One thing is for sure; our constitution is not set in stone. It was meant to be ever changing as our society sees fit. This was part of the brilliance in the making of our constitution.
The lawful process for repealing the 22nd amendment is built into the Constitution. Should that process be repealed? Probably not. I think some things should be set in stone.
A very good argument could be made for the abolishment of the 22nd amendment? Really? I think not.
At least not without a Constitutional convention.
Representative Jose Serrano (DemocRAT-New York), has introduced this constitutional amendment in every Congress since 1997. Like most Democrats, he is a tenacious, loose-screw jackass wasting taxpayer dollars by the mere fact he is alive, breathing, and in office. But then, so are the New York citizen morons who keep voting for this jackass.
I truly, sincerely, with all of my being, hope and pray that wannabe dictator Obama puts to print an executive order banning and confiscating all carbines and rifles with detachable magazines and pistol grips. This communist raised fool and his political lackeys may then reap what such arrogance deserves.
Unrelated subject.
If this is a joke, I’m not laughing.
New bill introduced to eliminate term limit for the President!

BTW…It takes a 2/3rds vote to approve in the house and senate and, I think, 3/4 of the states to ratify. This bill doesn’t stand a chance.
Thanks Michael for the info. Good to know it’s just one crazy representative.
