As you read the following please keep in the back of your mind that Barack Obama initially won the presidency, and Democrats the House and Senate, on the premise that GWB was a war mongering failure (left Afghanistan and didn’t get Bin Laden), who wasted resources in Iraq (A stable country as GWB left office), and his Vice Presidential choice,Joe Biden, was a genius at foreign policy…as opposed to McCain (Who actually has military and foreign policy experience that Obama did not have) and Sarah Palin (Who had more foreign policy experience than the Democrat choice for President). The media was all in for Obama then and it continues to be to this day.
Yes, as a candidate, the President made a big deal out of the need to go back into Afghanistan and “finish the job” that George Bush abandoned in order to “invade Iraq”. He got a lot of mileage for his election from the press out of making Bush appear to be an incompetent boob.
Well, who is the big boob now?
Egypt is in an uncertain state with heavy international implications if it falls to the influence of extremists. Al Qaeda has established itself with strong bases forming around the Suez Canal. Benghazi remains an open wound that has not been adequately addressed. Afghanistan remains a dangerous, corrupt nation…a hopeless mess. Terrorists have spread operations around the world. Millions of dollars (And countless lives) have been wasted both on a war that gained us nothing and on projects and equipment that won’t be finished or will never be used. The President is pulling our troops out of Afghanistan earlier than his own timetable of a year from now. And wonder of wonders, the early withdrawal and failure is accompanied by the news that in addition to an unfinished dam, a $34 million military operations facility has been built in Southwestern Afghanistan that will never be used:
The U.S. military has erected a 64,000-square-foot headquarters building on the dusty moonscape of southwestern Afghanistan that comes with all the tools to wage a modern war. A vast operations center with tiered seating. A briefing theater. Spacious offices. Fancy chairs. Powerful air conditioning.
Everything, that is, except troops.
The windowless, two-story structure, which is larger than a football field, was completed this year at a cost of $34 million. But the military has no plans to ever use it. Commanders in the area, who insisted three years ago that they did not need the building, now are in the process of withdrawing forces and see no reason to move into the new facility.
Both Hillary and Obama continue to be shielded personally in the media after presiding over the worst foreign (and economic) policies we’ve seen in decades! Our foreign policy has been a disaster. More information is available here, here, here, and here.
It isn’t that this administration has made mistakes…every administration makes mistakes. It is that the administration has been an almost complete failure and does not learn from mistakes!
The American people would know just how bad this administration has been if the media covered the presidency of Barack Obama as it should, unfortunately the main stream media continues to be, for the most part, totally in the tank for the President and for the possible future candidate they have already begun to support.
Citizens, we are on our own.
