Spiffy. But did you notice the placement? If you vote yes … then you can’t ship your mentally ill to Napa or Sacramento counties anymore. This is a consideration.
Since we are the generally the recipients of the mentally ill from other towns, and we haven’t been able to ship them to Sacramento and Napa for the last 20 years that’s not much of an issue.
Straw Poll: Should the Board of Supervisors support the effort to withdraw Del Norte County from California and place it in the proposed new state of Jefferson?
Yes – 304 votes – 89.4%
“Since we are the generally the recipients of the mentally ill from other towns, and we haven’t been able to ship them to Sacramento and Napa for the last 20 years that’s not much of an issue.”
Now, it’s this kind of ignorance of the practicalities that’s gonna sink your endeavor, because this is EXACTLY what Butte County does with it’s overflow.
In fact, the last I knew, most of the north state counties do not employ a coroner. All your autopsies are shipped to Sacramento, aren’t they?
You’d better get up on all this stuff, if you’re serious … which we all know you ain’t. Yer just amusing yourselves, distracting yerselves, excusing yerselves from doing any real work on the project … like figuring out whether the citizens of Jefferson would be able to afford to employ a coroner and run a mental health facility, and all like that.
That’s an incredible showing for an effort that has barely begun.
Tina, we’ve got years to go and yet in just a few short months this movement has gained more support than I could have ever imagined. It’s gone from almost nothing to thousands of volunteers, counties passing statehood measures and others putting it on the ballot. It’s really been exciting to see. If this is done right, both the south and north state will profit from bringing government closer to the people with more accountability, more efficiency and overall better results….who doesn’t want that?
Libby is there no end to your arrogance and sense of superiority?
Butte County
People who live here, whether you believe it or not, are smart, educated and quite capable what will need to be considered as well as determining the necessary steps to realize what is needed.
And by the way…we don’t need nanny state thinkers like you to figure out what is necessary and what is decidedly a Marxist transfer of wealth scheme.
