U.S. Sent Missiles, Guns, Ammunition to Iraq; Will Send More

Posted by Tina

The AP is reporting that the United States has sent weaponry to Iraq in the last month to assist Iraqi Security Forces fighting al Qaeda and other terrorist incursions within it’s borders:

BAGHDAD — The United States delivered 100 Hellfire missiles, along with assault rifles and ammunition to Iraq as part of its anti-terrorism assistance to the country, the U.S. embassy to Iraq said on Sunday.

In a statement, it said the delivery was made earlier this month in order to help bolster Iraq forces fighting a breakaway al-Qaida group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

“It is essential that Iraqi Security Forces are equipped with modern and effective weaponry given the serious threat… the ISIL now poses to Iraq and the region,” said the statement, which also promised to send more weapons to Iraq in the coming weeks.

Terrorists have taken over the city of Fallugia and control parts of Anbar’s provincial capital, Ramadi, two areas hard won by U.S. military forces during the Iraq war.

Good! It’s about time we did something to ensure that the work done by our military in Iraq isn’t casually cast aside.

Dollars to doughnuts most of those weapons end up on the black market and in the hands of the bad guys…

Didn’t we do this once before? I’m thinking the Iraq/Iran war and our support of Saddam Hussein. I truly hope this doesn’t come back to bite us right in our rears.

Pete, your point is very well founded and we think pretty much the same on this. And it’s a real shame that it is has to be this way because we (our sons and daughters) paid with their blood for this stinkin sand country to be something much better. But, when you read about the corruption and violance, it’s obvious the people running this country haven’t learned a thing. It’s as bad as it ever was because it’s in them to be this way, I firmly believe that. We only have to look at their volent history and then look the modern history. Look at these daily bombings, kidnappings and crimes against humanity. See what Islam has done for them?

As to your view about the arms shipment, I say just look at all the money we foolishly shipped to Iraq while our troops were occupying the entire country, what happened to that cash? They stole that money right in front of us. How much of those arms will get stolen without us there?

So, I have no doubt that a good portion of this arms shipment will be sold off on the black market or worse used against us by terrorists.

Iraq is for all intents a Muslim theocracy and in my book NOT one Muslim theocracy is worth a tinkers damn. They’ve proved time after time they are ruthless, barbaric, out of touch, morally corrupt, and filled with cheats, liars, murderers and criminals of all types.

I would no more trust this new Iraqi Shia government than I would trust Saddam Hussein’s old bunch. They have all the credibility of the Mexican goverment. Of course this is just my personal opinion, but it’s how I see it. -Jack

Pete I hope not also but I also hate to see Iraq end up like Iran after Carter…and after all the hard work and blood shed by our young men and women.

Bill thats a good thought…except I don’t know how to get around it. We’re kinda stuck with these lunk head politicians. However, I think it would be great idea that if we are asked to send our sons and daughters to war the President and Speakers of the House and Senate lead the first wave. Seems only fair.

Look at all the military equipment in Afghanistan that no one wants…..

We tried to give it away

When war has shareholders making profit and the pentagon has no oversight……

Audit the Pentagon and the fed, do not believe the military cuts are never waste..remember there are no sides only “we the people”

It is not such a far reach that one day we hear the Taliban (or) has all that equipment we want to leave behind

They feed all media what they want us to hear, then create social fights
