Not to spoil Obama’s big surprise tonight, but I thought those of you with a weak heart might want to hear it from me first. He’s going to stick k it to the American people when he announces he is offering citizenship to another 5 million illegals. This will bring to a total of about 15 million illegals that have become citizens by cutting in line ahead of all other applicants. Obama is creating a two cultures in America, one Hispanic and one all the rest. It’s not right.
President Barack Obama once declared that an influx of illegal immigrants will harm “the wages of blue-collar Americans” and “put strains on an already overburdened safety net.” And it has! He was right!
“There’s no denying that many blacks share the same anxieties as many whites about the wave of illegal immigration flooding our Southern border—a sense that what’s happening now is fundamentally different from what has gone on before,” then-Senator Obama wrote in his 2006 autobiography, “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream. “Not all these fears are irrational, the number of immigrants added to the labor force every year is of a magnitude not seen in this country for over a century.” This is why we need controlled immigration.
“If this huge influx of mostly low-skill workers provides some benefits to the economy as a whole—especially by keeping our workforce young, in contrast to an increasingly geriatric Europe and Japan—it also threatens to depress further the wages of blue-collar Americans and put strains on an already overburdened safety net.” Barrack Obama And he’s right again, so why is he so desperate to let millions sneak into our country and take resources and jobs they have never had a vested interest in?
“I’m not a dictator, I’m the president and there are limits to what I can do.” Pres. Obama 2013. Absolutely, the president has limits and his job is enforce our laws, Congress makes the laws.
“The system isn’t working when 12 million people live in hiding, and hundreds of thousands cross our borders illegally each year; when companies hire undocumented immigrants instead of legal citizens to avoid paying overtime or to avoid a union; when communities are terrorized by ICE immigration raids” Terrorized, you mean when they are enforcing the law they were hired to enforce is now terrorizing? He has control over the border and he’s the one complaining about hundreds of thousands coming across the border illegally?
His response to a system that he says is not working…do an end run around Congress, sidestep the law and just make the law breakers legal. He doesn’t think he needs Congress, because he is the dictator.
Here’s something to think about before Obama gives his speech tonight:
1) “Could legalizing an estimated 11 million illegal aliens tip our precarious national finances into insolvency? Could be. Robert Rector, who works on such problems at the Heritage Foundation stated, “Granting amnesty or legal status to illegals will generate costs in Medicare and Social Security alone of $2.5 trillion above any taxes paid in” (Daily Caller, January 31). 3) “According to the California Hospital Association, health care for illegal aliens is costing state taxpayers well over $1 billion a year. Eighty-four hospitals across California have already been forced to close because of unpaid bills by illegal aliens.” – Ann Coulter
4) “While harrying and stalling tea party groups seeking nonprofit status, the Internal Revenue Service mailed $4.2 billion in child-credit checks to undocumented immigrants. Critics say midlevel IRS bureaucrats continue to abuse the Additional Child Tax Credit program by dispensing $1,000 checks to families in this country illegally.
Oh, he is not either offering anybody citizenship. Would you at least find out what’s going on before you throw up the barricades.
Largely, what it will work out to is no more busting up families. How you can be against this is beyond me.

Libby is correct this isn’t a citizenship offer but it might as well be. People who do what is required legally and wait in line for years to come to America are being flipped the bird by the Emperor.
The Emperor also flips the bird to unemployed and underemployed Americans, union workers, young black folks and single mothers/women.
But Libby is cracked in the head when she insists that “we” are “busting up families.”
WE did not make people come to this country illegally, leaving family behind, nor, when we granted citizenship to the anchor babies mothers and fathers came her illegally to have, did we promise amnesty or citizenship to the parents…they knew this. So it is in fact the families that opted for being “busted up” and now the Emperor has decided to flip the bird to Congress and the Constitution, against his own advice, to grant temporary (yeah right) amnesty.
This is another round in his grand scheme to fundamentally transform America, bringing her down to third world status in the process. He’s flipping the bird at America because we have been successful (freedom does that) and its “not fair.”
It was reported seven days ago that Vice Emperor Joe Biden, extended a new “refugee plan” while visiting with Central American bank presidents. Central American parents living in America, parents who “busted up their family” to come here, can apply for their kids to come, once again flooding the nation. The VPE tweeted:

What about the “dignity” of Americans that have lost their jobs or job opportunities because of the Emperors harsh EPA regulations on coal, delay of Keystone, QE which made the rich richer and flipped the bird to the middle class and the poor, draconian banking regulations, and O’Emperorcare.
How about the dignity of young black American men whose unemployment rate at the end of 2013 was “393% higher than the national rate which is also still to high.
Soundbites of the Emperor announcing amnesty sound like he’s speaking to five-year-olds…another flip of the bird to “stupid” Americans.
J. Soden the serious answer to your last question is, because we are real Americans who care about America and our fellow citizens and the rights we enjoy when not being “ruled” by an arrogant Emperor and his Czars!

Libby I don’t commit these crimes, I just report them. If the homeless are doing crime, they are not exempt from being reported on. Here’s a thought: Get a clue and don’t shoot the messenger.
Libby, there is something here that exceeds the mere action by Obama, it is the question of his underlying authority to actually do it.
This will surely get a lot of debate in the coming weeks and months. Many scholars of Constitutional law say he crossed a line and set a bad precedent that should be reversed. I’m reading their arguments and I am yet to form a solid opinion, but it seems so far that he did break the law, and possibly other past presidents did too, although none of them acted on the scale that Obama did.
Nobody I know favors the deportation of 12 million people, so don’t even go there. It wouldn’t work and that’s not the kind of people we are.
What we do want is enforce the existing laws regarding immigration, hiring, housing, welfare funding and such, so that illegal entries will be discouraged in the future.
We can’t keep doing this every 10 years, you do understand that don’t you?
We are a nation of laws and it is only reasonable that we enforce our laws as countries around the world do for their immigration rules. If we didn’t, we would be the exception…even Mexico enforces their immigrant laws which are more strict than ours!
I really don’t understand your beef sometimes, you seem so partisan that you are blind to what’s happening to your country. We need fair rules and we need to streamline the immigration process so people don’t have to wait years and pay tens of thousands of dollars to be a citizen. But, we can’t allow a sub-culture to dictate terms because they cheated, they swarmed in and took over illegally and they failed to assimilate to the American culture. This is dangerous and we see some examples of what happens in countries that allow sub-cultures and languages to compete with their own. This is a pretty obvious danger and why you refuse to accept it is beyond comprehension.
Libby you imagine that you are a compassionate and caring individual simply because you sympathize with the homeless and the undocumented that entered our country in violation of our immigration law. But you have a very low threshold of expectation for the people. It’s all “of a piece,” regardless of circumstances. This doesn’t make you compassionate; it makes you an enabler. it makes you a snob. It assuages your guilt over the success of America
Responsibility is necessary in any life.
I know that this post is about immigration but Libby brought up compassion for the homeless.
Libby, how many homeless have you taken into your home? How many have you allowed to camp on your property? How many are in your neighborhood? How many times have you helped clean up the mess created by the transients? How many times have you been a victim of the bad behavior of some (not all) transients?
I’m so tired of people defending the bad behavior of some of these people. It’s easy if you aren’t affected by it. I’ve heard people defend a guy sitting blocking a business doorway during business hours by saying “where else does he have to sit?”. I’ve heard people defend a guy for urinating in public in full view of children by saying “Where else does he have to go?”. Would you be so compassionate if they were urinating or defecating on your door step and leaving their garbage on your yard for you to clean up because they are done with it. Hey, where else do they have to put it! Bad behavior is bad behavior and you shouldn’t get a get-out-of-jail-free-card just because you are homeless.
I will say that some of the people behaving badly are mentally ill. Those people deserve our compassion because they really can’t help themselves. On the other hand, we shouldn’t be the victims of their bad behavior just because they are mentally ill. Again, bad behavior is bad behavior. Being mentally ill explains why they are doing it. It doesn’t give them the right to do it.
Liberals are always talking about compassion. However, the liberals I know are some of the most incompassionate people I know. They use it as another way to be contrary as if being contrary was a badge of honor. They will be compassionate enough to attempt to justify bad behavior from a transient that is clearly unable to care for themselves. Then, they do everything they can to support their right to live on the street. The compassion they show is a very a sick kind of compassion as far as I’m concerned.
Our former Liberal Mayor Andy Holcome wanted to create a city sponsored homeless encampment. I always thought that was kind of like finding a man stuck down in a hole and your solution to his problem is to hand down a chair so he as something to sit. Again, it is a very sick kind of compassion.
The mentally ill should not be on the street; for their own good along with the good of the community. They should be institutionalized where they can get help. That’s what use to happen but then they closed up all the mental institutions. Liberals will tell you the Ronald Regan did that. Yes, he closed the institutions, but he did so because they were empty. They were empty because of a ruling on a suit brought on by the Leftist ACLU. That suit caused the release of scores that were unable to care for themselves.
So now all the people that are mentally ill get to have their freedom. They get the freedom to sleep on the ground in freezing weather, eat out of garbage cans, create a nuisance to other people in the community, get beat up by their fellow sane transients, live in filth, acquire body parasites and sores, and eventually die suffering. It’s a great life to be free. As I said above, it’s a very sick kind of compassion.
Oh, and by the way, there is never any compassion for the victims of the transient’s bad behavior. To hell with them for not wanting to be a victim How dare they even complain? Sick!

Libby you should be reminded that we Americans are forced to pay into SS and MC, business people get to pay matching amounts for ourselves AND our employees. We have earned the piddling return on our money that the forced SS “investment” pays. It would also be stupid to pay into a medical plan for 30 or 40 years that you never use.
We’ve known since at least the 1980’s that these programs are adding to our debt because they are unsustainable. All efforts to do something about that have been blocked by radical progressives in your party. The same failed ideology is behind the flooding of our nation with more immigrants than our economy and our services can bear. Then there is that little question of assimilation. Nations limit the number of immigrants they allow in so as to force assimilation. Yes, I want American to remain free and I want a return to republican government that respects the freedoms and rights of all of the AMERICAN people. If we fail to defend ourselves, if we allow ourselves to be flooded with alien thinking, people with no intention of assimilating, then freedom and rights will mean nothing here or in the world.

I know a couple of illegals out in the farm country and they aren’t the least bit concerned about being deported. My daughter takes care of two illegals in two different nursing homes and they’re on the taxpayers dime! They act like it’s an entitlement and so do their relatives whenever they come around, which is rare. They just park the old folks and come around once or twice a year to bitch. Funny how those who don’t deserve it can be the most difficult. She runs into this all the time with welfare cases…they are the most pushy and demanding. Some are in the care facilities just because they are too fat too live at home, but now I’m getting off track. Point being…57% of illegals or their kids are getting some kind of welfare subsidy. It’s not right, but both party’s got us into this mess. I don’t think either party will get us out. We’re screwed.

The conditions we are discussing are at impossible levels due to the failures of our government. I’m in favor of niceness and support our liberal friends on that score…if only we could teach them to be nice!
Their nice ideas are not so bad: 1. Take care of the less fortunate, 2. Take care of the environment, 3. Take care of old people and animals, etc.
But their methodology stinks and their management skills, particularly in terms of a budget and efficient use of funds leave a lot to be desired and they literally do not know how wealth is created. They mistake spending for investment, for instance and call our tax bills, “contributions,” as if we are not compelled by law to pay them.
It’s a lie, however, that they lack philosophy, ideology or doctrine. One word sums it all up quite nicely, “redistribution!” Liberals, being the most arrogant of beings, believe they know best how to manage everybody else’s money.

60 Minutes had a segment tonight about our decaying infrastructure concerning hundreds if not thousands of bridges, highways and airports. Problem is there’s no money to fix them putting people’s lives at risk every day.
Wasn’t Obama’s stimulus plan supposed to go toward fixing them with shovel ready jobs? Where did the money go.
Can’t they figure out if we weren’t spending millions/billions to provide for and educate all of these illegals we could put that money toward fixing these structures for the legal residents who paid for them in the first place.

Crumbling roads and bridges are fast becoming what children and seniors have always been for liberals, just a tool to be used at election time.
Most roads and bridges come under state or local jurisdiction.
Yes in 2008 his stimulus plan was supposed to go toward those shovel ready jobs. It was spent on signs to champion the Presidents program put up on roads already scheduled for work. Our expanded section of freeway was one of them. the signs were pretty but I have no idea how much federal money was used other than for the signs. I could be wrong but I think most of it was covered by state taxes. A lot of it went to China (solar) and other green technology.
A couple of days ago the SoCal solar plant project in the desert was rejected by BLM.
The project was given extra scrutiny by the administration because it fell outside the almost 284,918 acres of solar energy zones designated as preferred locations for development in 2012. The BLM has approved 18 wind, solar and geothermal power plants on public lands in California since 2010. Bloomberg quoted a spokesman: “It’s an undisturbed wilderness area between two national parks,” said Dana Wilson, a spokeswoman for the BLM in Sacramento, which is currently reviewing proposals for six additional solar farms in the state.
A mil here, a mil there, pretty soon we’re talking real money 🙂
