Rolling Stone Magazine Too Quick To Accuse Fraternity of Gang Rape

Posted by Jack

Last year the magazine, Rolling Stone, chronicled an alleged gang rape of a female freshman who was lured to a fraternity house during a party by one of its members. This prompted a backlash of anger, protesting, and even vandalism against the University of Virginia fraternity house.

The UVA board of directors proclaimed a zero tolerance policy and opened a big investigation. The hate directed at the frat brothers was considerable, only one problem… it didn’t happen. The so-called victim’s story was full of holes. The person she identified as the ringleader was unknown to the fraternity, the party she said happened, didn’t, and accused participants were not even present. Rolling Stone has retracted the story, but not before the damage was done and a number of students were facing rape charges.

“In the face of new information, there now appear to be discrepancies in Jackie’s account, and we have come to the conclusion that our trust in her was misplaced,” Managing Editor Will Dana said in a statement about the story by Sabrina Rubin Erdely.

  1. Pie Guevara says:

Rolling Stone is no Media Matters, which would have never made such an admission.

  2. J. Soden says:

The media presstitutes jumped on the Rolling Stone bandwagon without benefit of checking for facts. Just as they did with Ferguson, Garner, Zimmerman/Martin, and Christie’s “bridgegate.”

Only reason those presstitutes might be upset is that they were caught with their pants down and have further reduced their credibility to zero.
