Breaking: ISIS Centcom Hack

The Weekly Standard asks, “CENTCOM’s Twitter Hacked By ISIS?” As seen on CENTCOM’s social media twitter pages the enemy has established a “cyber caliphate” by engaging in “cyber-jihad. They claim they know the intimate details of American soldiers personal lives including the names of wives, husbands and children and use Twitter to issue personally aimed threats. More here

Are we behind the curve with these jerks or what?

Update: Is Anonymous the new face of “effective” warfare now? The world is definitely upside down. These Bozos who live and operate off of the success of capitalism but eschew it’s value will most likely miss the mark.

It would be funny if it weren’t so serious, but the CENTCOM Twitter hack by ISIS happened at about the same time Obumble was announcing a anti-terrorism summit . .

ISIS just stuck a fork in Obumble – he’s done!

  2. Tina says:

Apparently these accounts were not tied to sensitive CENTCOM accounts. The hack was a substantial symbolic victory, however.

And apparently Obama’s next big idea to combat radical terrorists is community outreach and intervention. Since anyone he would associate with will take the leftist PC approach this plan will be as effective as all of his other plans.

    2 more years to go.

This is a major embarrassment, but it says less about the competency of CENTCOM and more about the security holes in social media.

To anyone who participates in social media: Get a clue. You are subject to all sorts of attacks. The people who provide the social media software do not give a damn about your security or privacy. Their only interest is market research, social data mining, and selling that information.

Pie I agree, which is why the only social media I participate in is here. Apparently our service men and women agree now too and many are choosing to opt out.

It’s an unfortunate reality. These guys serving away from their families and often in dangerous situations used this medium to connect to family and friends back home.

This could become an excellent opportunity for someone with higher integrity and bucks to invest to provide a more secure service for our wonderful military and their families. Let’s hope someone sees the need and fills it.
