In another proxy war, Iran scored big with their Shiite rebels capture of Yemen. That’s bad news for other little emirates in that region that are hanging by a threat, rebels on one side, terrorists on the other. The middle east has never been this unstable since it was drawn up after WWI.
The US was heavily invested in Yemeni politics and now that’s all for naught. Things in Yemen are so bad for Americans we’ve boarded up the embassy and evacuated all personnel.
Iran’s influence is slowly wrapping around Saudi Arabia and that has to have the royal family a bit nervous. The Saudi’s are fighting back by strangling Iran’s economy with low oil prices, but it’s also hurting ISIS that had been selling captured oil on the black market to support their army.
Here’s a thought, maybe we can lease our old embassy to Iran now that we won’t be using it? Every little bit helps, especially when we’re $18 trillion in the hole.
