Obama’s opposition has long claimed he has very little appreciation for law enforcement or the military. This seems to ring true given his history starting with the Cambridge PD incident and leading up to his reluctance to use military force in Iraq or Syria to stop ISIS.
Most recently he asked Congress to use more military force because of ISIS which is a complete reversal of his stand-back-and-see-what-happens policy. He didn’t have to ask and he usually doesn’t, as President he can cause our military to engage problems as they come up. Congress of course has to follow through with the funding part, but only if it turns into an extended campaign as in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Obama’s been quick bypass Congress in the past and use his Presidential authority, so why defer to Congress now?
Obama made it clear that whatever we are about to do, we will do it in a very limited manner and we won’t be doing it for long. So, again I find it curious why he would ask Congress? He’s sure not been one to be bipartisan, so what’s the angle here? Here’s my theory: I think he’s looking for cover. He’s in the hot seat and sometimes there is no other option except a military one, so at least he can spread out the blame by involving Congress. Your thoughts?
Georgia … it’s more creepy even than that. Rumor has it that the Saudis funded Daesh in its “infancy”, as the Saudis were rather panting to have Assad out of Syria.
Rumor also has it that they’ve seen the error of their ways … alas, the damage is done, and won’t be undone any time soon.
And you won’t find anyone else on this site willing to consider such complexities. They are all programmed to spout whatsoever which keeps those military-industrial hums humming … like drones.
Libby you are talking to Dewey. Aren’t you embarrassed?

“I promised to end the war in Iraq”….wait for it…wait for it….

lol… good Peggy. Yeah right, he really ended the war in Iraq didn’t he? lol Are you sure he didn’t say he was going to end Iraq by war? Maybe that was it, because everything President Dumb-A has done over there has grown regional terrorism, destroyed innocent people, lost cities and land to terrorists thus empowering them, abandoned our old friends, and in general made the world a much more dangerous place. NOBODY could have done worse unless they set Iraq on fire themselves.
Jack, why has a whole week’s worth of comments been deleted?
You’re right Jack “Nobody could have done worse..” Just listen to all of the retired military brass talk about him and his administration and it’s very clear they believe he doesn’t know what he’s doing and is responsible for the mess we and the world are in.
Spy General Unloads on Obama’s ISIS War Plan:
“Former DIA Chief Michael Flynn likens the fight against Islamic militants to the Cold War and calls for an international chain of command akin to that of the Allies in World War II.
The former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency slammed the Obama administration on Monday as “well intentioned” but paralyzed and playing defense in its the fight against Islamic militancy.
Recently retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn called for the U.S. to lead the charge in a sweeping, decades-long campaign against the Islamic State group, al Qaeda, and its ilk—a fight like the one against the former Soviet Union—against a new enemy he said is “committed to the destruction of freedom and the American way of life.”
“There is no substitute, none, for American power,” the general said, to occasional cheers and ultimately a standing ovation from a crowd of special operators and intelligence officers at a Washington industry conference.
He also slammed the administration for refusing to use the term “Islamic militants” in its description of ISIS and al Qaeda.
“You cannot defeat an enemy you do not admit exists,” Flynn said.
He said the administration is unwilling to admit the scope of the problem, naively clinging to the hope that limited counterterrorist intervention will head off the ideological juggernaut of religious militancy.”

Watch: In 90 Seconds, Retired Lt. General Absolutely Destroys Obama’s Plan to Fight the Islamic State:
“A former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency on Friday criticized President Barack Obama’s decision to put limits on the U.S. military in its ongoing fight against the Islamic State.
Retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn spent the morning at a House Armed Services Committee, where he was asked about Obama’s request that Congress authorize the use of military force against the terrorist group. That request prohibits any “enduring” use of ground forces.
But Flynn gave committee members little doubt about where he stood on that proposal, and all but accused the administration of not trusting the military to carry out the fight.
“When we give our military commanders a mission, we should allow them to execute that mission, and not overly constrain them with approved authorities, but then having to come back to the administration for permission,” Flynn said. “Either we need to review those authorities and those permissions, or we need to change the commanders because we apparently don’t trust them to do the job that we’ve given them do to.””

Thanks Libby. I guess you are right. They even deleted the comment?
Maybe the goal here is to provide misinformation.
I see links to Fox. The retired Generals on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox are on the payroll. More often than not they sit on the boards of arms manufactures. Their job is to sell. They are not in the military anymore. They are paid to increase profits.
Sad So many Americans believe what they are told blindly.
General Smedly Buter wrote a great book about 50 plus years ago.
It’s called “War is a racket” He was a well respected MArine.
After his service he realized what his job really was.
Hope you see this before who ever deletes it.
Wonder what one is suppose to say? Follow the leader? Do not question? Do not speak your own truth?
Free Speech is dead I guess.
“He also slammed the administration for refusing to use the term “Islamic militants” in its description of ISIS and al Qaeda.”
Did he also slam the Bush administration for making this change in the first place?
Is he aware of the many experts under both administrations who argue that refusing to publicly acknowledge the terrorists’ religious motivations actually helps fight terror?
Great, now we have Bill Clinton apologizing to Mexico.
Say What? Bill Clinton Apologizes To Mexico On Behalf Of The U.S. For Escalating Violence:
“The United States is to blame for Mexico’s escalating violence – or so says former President Bill Clinton.
The nation’s 42nd president apologized to the Latin American country during a speech to a roomful of Mexican students recently, asserting that the U.S.’s War on Drugs had backfired and was the reason why crime and violence had increased exponentially in recent years south of the border.
“I wish you had no narco-trafficking, but it’s not really your fault. Basically, we did too good of a job of taking the transportation out of the air and water, and so we ran it over land. I apologize for that,” Clinton said, according to The Daily Mail.
His words were later confirmed by The Clinton Foundation.
In his speech, Clinton was referring to the drug enforcement policies originally set forth by Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, which made Mexico – and not the Caribbean Sea – the preferred trafficking route between the United States and Latin America.
The former Arkansas Governor later opened the border between the two North American nations to further the land-based trafficking, and increased its enforcement efforts of the Columbian cartels – which only gave more power to the Mexican drug gangs responsible for the increase in the violence.
Ethan Nadelmann, director of the Drug Policy Alliance, which advocates for U.S. drug law reform, is pleased that Clinton “has been doing a lot of apologizing in recent years.”
“Of course one wishes he’d done the right thing when he was president and had the power to do so, but it’s always better for an ex-president to apologize for his sins than to pretend he never sinned at all,” Nadelmann told Fusion.”

Peggy that’s pretty amusing from an ex-president that hangs with elite users who provide demand and through movies and music promote drug use.
I swear the left elites think they’re invisible!
The left are invisible because the lame-stream media doesn’t report on what Dems do and say. They thought Bill walked on water until Monica and now they’ll promote Hillary as a water-walker too.
My first thought when I read what he said was, could he possibly be including the Fast and Furious gun running and drug cartel mess? Then I remembered he was a Democrat and they don’t take responsibility for anything and believe they are above the law and don’t have to respond to subpoenas from Congress.
Plus, he’s out campaigning for Hillary and figured Obama’s apology tours worked for him he’d put the same strategy to work for her. The progressive agenda to transform America from a once great nation to a third-world country will continue on if she wins. She’s was an Alinsky worshiper at his knee, while Obama was a follower of his teachings.
Speaking of Hillary, did you hear about the hornet nest Maureen Dowd’s column in the NY Times. Trust me you’ll want to read every word. And the one she just wrote today in TwinCities is possibly even better.
