Unconfirmed news: Freddy Gray – Spinal Operation Prior to Arrest

Posted by Jack

Baltimore – Sun: Online reports are swirling that Freddie Gray had spinal surgery shortly before he died in police custody, and collected a payout in a settlement from a car accident. Those reports — which raise questions about the injury that led to his death in April 19 — point to Howard County court records as proof..

But court records examined Wednesday by The Baltimore Sun show the case had nothing to do with a car accident or a spine injury. Instead, they are connected to a lawsuit alleging that Gray and his sister were injured by exposure lead paint.

Paperwork was filed in December allowing Gray and his sister, Fredericka to each collect an $18,000 payment from Peachtree Settlement Funding, records show. In exchange, Peachtree would have received a $108,439 annuity that was scheduled to be paid in $602 monthly installments between 2024 and 2039.

In her documents, Fredericka Gray checked “other” when asked to describe the type of accident. She also said that the date of the accident was “94/99” and that she was a minor when the case was settled.

In his documents, Freddie Gray checked “work injury, medical malpractice and auto accident” as the type of accident. When asked to explain, he also wrote something that is unreadable. He also wrote something unreadable when asked if he was a minor when the case was settled.

Both cases were filed at the same time by a New Jersey law firm.

A judge dismissed the case on April 2 when neither Gray nor his sister appeared in court, records show.

This will undoubtedly take on a life of its own, and when the facts are diluted to the point no real determination of who did what can be realized, or political profit can be made from it, it will go to political heaven and die, with no improvements of any measurable notice.

Most likely a few people fired or step down,(symbolic in nature)but will the community pull together to prevent future unrest to their neighborhoods, doubtful there as well.

Everyone owns a piece of this, frustrated Police, hamstrung by a political system that just dwells on concern of their own. Ignoring the police needs, thereby causing them to turn that frustration on lawless mindsets.

Council members, not working effectively to better living conditions through real improvements other than more entitlement programs, and entitlements just seem to always breed more problems, because its never enough.

criminals who understand they can push the envelope and profit from a do nothing system.

Citizenry who foolishly expect Government to solve their own problems of crime and poverty.

Business owners who give up and move on, causing city tax dollars to leave the area, which always cuts needed community services, which always seem to be fire and police first, causing more frustration.

it is a cyclical problem of failed leadership which is systemic in the roots of political gamesmanship.

However on the positive side, more posts on Craigslist of specially acquired items for sale, with profits to be used for the needed supplement of entitlements.
