Hillary Lurches Left

Posted by Tina

If she wins the primary to become the Democrat candidate for president she will have to temper her words to appear centrist as her husband did, but for now with ideological challenges from Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, she’s forced to lurch leftward. If she’s elected and has her way she will continue leading us into economic darkness.

This morning she criticized the marketplace, business and the banks citing criminal behavior and calling for more regulations and prosecutions. In addition she wants a government sponsored preschool program and that, of course, would require additional taxes. Most hilarious of all, she cited her husbands record of expansion and growth, failing to note that it would never have happened had he been able to ram her health care bill through the Congress and expand the government in the usual Democrat fashion. Instead he declared the “era of big government over” and worked with Republicans in Congress to lower taxes and regulations and make reforms to the welfare system.

Progressives are the great deceivers. They witnessed the massive growth and expansion in both the Kennedy and Clinton administrations when taxes were lowered to create economic expansion and job growth. Liberals in the State of New York recently adopted conservative policies of lower taxes and regulation to attract new businesses to New York. Progressives KNOW what works! They also know that policies and programs under Obama and other liberals have blunted the economy, failed to create strong job and wage growth, and are the major cause for most of the national debt.

A robust economy with plenty of jobs and a growing middle class isn’t what progressives want. They want power and control and use the good people who support them to get elected. Hillary has lurched leftward today. She’ll retreat back to the center during the election. But be very clear, this radical leftist will continue the failed policies that are responsible for very low growth (1.8% average), lousy job creation, citizens giving up hope they will ever find a good job (93 million out of the workforce), college graduates flipping burgers part time, more Americans than ever on food stamps, and money printing to the delight of Wall Street.

Americans can and will do much better, and if the masses know what’s good for them, they will reject the failed progressive policies and the lying liberals that promote them. They will choose a Republican who will lead the way out of the darkness.

I love the smell of double standards in the morning!

  14. Tina says:

Chris: “Ooh, I know! Reagan. The Reagan kind.”

Reagan did negotiate with Russia. But he actually achieved something of value and didn’t take any crap from Russia. Russia was also not shouting, “Death to America” at the time or calling for Israels complete annihilation. At every turn in this deal Obama/Kerry caved to the wants of the Iranian regime and got nothing of substance in return. Iran will honor the inspections exactly as Saddam did, that is to say, not at all. Saddam played games for years with UN inspectors.

“Wait, that’s impossible. When the rich get richer, everyone does, because trickle down.”

Lord you are stupid. I have to question your ability to learn. That statement represents the most biased simplification of what has derisively been called, “trickle down.” It shows zero understanding of the effects of lower taxes and the elimination of punishing regulations on our economy. You have an adolescent attitude, Chris, demonstrating a complete lack of serious inquiry.

  15. Chris says:

Tina: “Reagan did negotiate with Russia.”

I was clearly talking about when Reagan negotiated with Iran, silly.

“Russia was also not shouting, “Death to America” at the time or calling for Israels complete annihilation.”

No, but Iran was, and Reagan still negotiated with them. You know this.

These threads always take on a different direction for some reason. If Hillary is going to the extreme left from her usual corporate cronyism it means that she is in trouble with her base. She can’t win them back without making promises that will hurt her with middle America, but she will try.
What’s great is that this will highlight the fact that there is an extreme left in the democrat party, something that usually isn’t admitted too. Republicans have a lot of choices this year, but dems are left with either an extreme lefty or a corporate crook. It will be interesting to watch that unfold and see how they try to sell their candidate.

  20. Tina says:

Peggy the only comment I could find in response to Chris regarding trickle down shows up as posted (???) on the edit page. i don’t know how it disappeared on this page. You wrote:

Chris: “Wait, that’s impossible. When the rich get richer, everyone does, because trickle down. You’re engaging in class warfare.”

Trickle down for conservative refers to those who work for their earnings who when become successful hire those too who can support themselves.

Hillary is an elitist like Bernie Madoff who scams and cons others to pocket huge funds to buy mansions and live lives of the rich and famous. Madoff is in prison for running his Ponzi scheme and Hillary should be in the cell next to him. Al Gore should be there too.

Did you see the latest scientific study saying we’re now headed for a mini ice age? How’s that global warming con working out for everyone now that Gore has stuffed his pockets along with fellow scammers.

Global freezing: A ‘mini ice age’ is on the way by 2030, scientists say:

“Some 15 or so years from now, the “polar vortex” might not sound so bad.

European scientists warn that by 2030, a decade of winters with deep freezing temperatures could bring about a “mini ice age” the likes of which hasn’t been seen in 370 years.

Researchers at Northumbria University, led by Professor Valentina Zharkova, used mathematical models to predict solar activity will drop by 60% and trigger plunging temps around the world. The last time this happened was between 1645 and 1715, the Independent reported.”

You guys cut corporate taxes then say the states have no money to fix the infrastructure, fund schools or anything. What are you thinking?

Reaganomics ruined the middle class and the Trickle down failed. We are not going to take it anymore. Over 30 years of failure is enough. The money trickles out of the country. We have the largest income inequality ever and they are not rich enough yet.

I sure hope no one here collects that socialist social security they vote to get rid of for future generations

    • Post Scripts says:

Tina, I think we should look at states that have made an effort to cut taxes on small business. Kansas is a good example. Now, you have to realize the left doesn’t want tax cuts to succeed, so they bad mouth and distort to give a negative picture. But, despite their campaign of disinformation the truth eventually comes shining through. Take for instance this world class article by FORBES. “When Kansas Governor Sam Brownback enacted his bold approach to tax reform, he gave a much-needed boost to small businesses throughout the state. Thanks to Brownback’s tax cuts, these businesses can make greater investments, hire more employees, and set themselves on a more stable course toward the future. Considering that 44 percent of working Kansans are employed by small businesses, the Brownback tax cuts positively impact thousands of families.

Unfortunately, no good deed goes unpunished, with outlets like the Kansas City Star questioning the wisdom and efficacy of the cuts. The Star’s editorial board published a column downplaying the positive impact the cuts have had on the state’s small businesses and expressing skepticism about Kansas’ ability to draw in business from states with higher tax burdens. In an excellent rebuttal to the Star’s editorial, the Kansas Policy Institute outlines the problematic nature of their claims. While successful growth is typically measured in the number of private-sector jobs created, the Star instead uses (but does not disclose this fact) nonfarm jobs – in other words, the total of government and private sector jobs.

Additionally, as the KPI paper rightly points out, the Star uses point-to-point comparisons to make its case, comparing Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers from January 2014 and January 2015. A more reasoned and accurate approach is to look at average annual employment numbers (which the BLS also publishes), in order to mitigate the impact of any single large spike or decline. Looking at these bigger-picture numbers, we see that Kansas nonfarm jobs grew by 2.4 percent between December 2012 and January 2015. In Missouri during the same timeframe, nonfarm jobs increased by 1.9 percent. This more stable, accurate comparison of average annual employment reveals Kansas to be growing faster than Missouri – whether you use nonfarm or private-sector employment figures.

Also, since Brownback’s tax reform, private-sector GDP has increased in Kansas. The Tax Foundation shows Kansas outperforming the 50-state average in 2013 (the numbers for 2014 aren’t yet available), as well as far outperforming the ten states with the highest state and local tax burden. In the fourteen years prior to tax reform, Kansas lagged behind.

Kansans should be celebrating their state’s strides. The growth of small businesses in Kansas is at an annual rate of 6 percent – higher than the national average and higher than the growth in any neighboring states, including Missouri. In the 2013 tax year, more than 8,600 first-time small-business filers invigorated the state’s economy with more than $486 million in new income.

As Governor Brownback himself stated this week: “Our goal, as a state, should be growing an economy that provides opportunity and jobs for all Kansans. A tax policy that puts more money in the hands of working Kansans and that rewards productivity is resulting in growth in Kansas, without question.”

Leaders in other states should be inspired by the small business and employment gains in Kansas as they examine their own state tax policies and determine which reform options will work best in their own home states.” End of article

    • Post Scripts says:

Tina, from Investors Business Daily they had this to say about Reaganomics that helped our economy. Now once again, you will likely hear from some Trotskyite out here total BS disinformation, that Pres. Obama did so much better than Reagan with the economy, but the truth is he didn’t.

Obama has missed Reagan’s record by a mile! You have to read this. (It’s shameful how the left has tried to distort the truth)

“In a speech to Democrats this week, Obama went so far as to boast how it’s “pretty rare where you have two visions, a vigorous debate, and then you test who’s right. And the record shows that we were right.”

      IBD says, “Well, not quite.

Obama is correct that we can compare two very different economic visions. One is called Reaganomics and the other is Obama’s “middle class economics.”

To get the economy moving again, President Reagan cut taxes, simplified the tax code, reined in regulations, kept spending under control, and generally treated government as more of a problem than a solution to many of the country’s troubles.

Obama promised to set the country on a new and different course, and has been doing a bang-up job of it ever since. He boosted spending, raised taxes, vastly complicated the tax code, unleashed federal regulators and massively expanded the entitlement state with ObamaCare.

And how did these two visions work out?

In the first five years of the Reagan recovery, the economy grew 4.6% a year on average. Under Obama, it’s been a paltry 2.2%.

Employment had climbed more than 18% by this point in Reagan’s recovery. Under Obama, it’s a mere 7.2%.

Looked at another way, the growth gap between Obama’s economic policies and Reagan’s is now $2.4 trillion in lost GDP and a stunning 14.4 million in lost jobs.

Obama hasn’t just underperformed Reagan, he’s underperformed every president since the Great Depression.”

  23. Chris says:

Jack I’ve said myself that Reagan did quite a few good things which led to economic growth. I’ve also pointed out that Reagan grew the size of government more than any other president since FDR; that taxes were, unlike today, punitively high before he cut them; that his plan included RAISING CAPITAL GAINS TAXES to be equal to income taxes, a policy that virtually no Republican would support today; and that the recession that Reagan inherited was not even close to being as bad as the global near-depression Obama inherited.

So Reagan’s record is more mixed than the far right or the far left would care to admit. He talked a lot about small government but he expanded the powers of the Fed on an epic scale and did quite a few of the things Republican’s criticize Obama for, including negotiating with terrorists and causing the debt to skyrocket. Ultimately I don’t think his tax plan was bad for the country, but today’s Republicans live by his words rather than his deeds and are convinced that we need even more cuts for the top earners, not only in income taxes, but capital gains as well. This is even after Reagan’s own chief advisor, Bruce Bartlett, has said that today’s problems are different and they can’t be solved by lowering taxes. If Republicans actually governed the way Reagan did instead of trying to appeal to some Platonic ideal of the man that never really existed, I don’t think I’d have such a problem.

  24. Tina says:

Common sense! The apologists for Obamanomics can’t even apply common sense!

If a government demands a greater percentage of what we earn and invest, creates more costly regulation, creates another big entitlement ensuring the government will need more tax revenue every year or incur more debt, it can’t be called a great economic success…unless the goal is government control of business and widespread socialism for the masses. Good jobs and a thriving and growing economy doesn’t fit in that picture!

On the other hand if you lower taxes for business and individuals and make regulations workable and sane business will be encouraged to expand and create jobs, particularly middle class jobs. It’s a no-brainer! The opportunity to do more business or start a business and make more money causes the economy to explode.

Reagan’s record doesn’t match his words perfectly, no former president’s words do. That’s because they worked with Congress in a give and take fashion as our Constitution requires. Obama’s record doesn’t match his promises and he has not worked with Congress at all.

Our problems aren’t different. That’s an excuse for the dismal result that has come from the socialist remedy. Liberals have been trying to sell the snake oil of socialism as a big economic driver…it is just the opposite! (See Greece)

Jack that was a good article. Seems like we can cite all day long the dismal statistics under Obama and the stellar statistics under Reagan (And JFK…and Clinton with Republican tax cuts) and lefties just refuse to see they are better off when Americans are working and producing!

Obama’s new euphemism for his economic policy is a hoot: “middle class economics!” People have fallen out of the middle class and into poverty under his policies. People are only able to find part time work when they want to work full time under his policies. Vast numbers of Americans need food stamps. Dismal!

And the left continues to talk up the Obama economy…incredible!

  25. Dewey says:

Tina f you lower taxes for business and individuals and make regulations workable and sane business will be encouraged to expand and create jobs, particularly middle class jobs. It’s a no-brainer!

really well most recently GW did just that why were qwe loosing hundreds of thousand of jobs a month?

Or why is Kansa broke? It’s a no brainer they hoarde the money and the states go broke because taxes are their only revenue.

Exactly when does the trickle start? Over 30 years and waiting!

It is a sham and Failed Policy.

Leave a man to his own devices and he will rob the till and steal your wife!

Bottom Line Americans are tired of these failed conservative policies.

You are going to see a real grassroots movement start. It may take time but it has started.

Political Revolution has started. American workers have had it. Reversing Reaganomics is on the horizon.

Obamanomics? Ya mean GOP Congress obstruction? LOL Nice try.

  26. Steve says:

Jack my apologies I was busy yesterday.

I like Scott Walker and Rick Perry for President, and I could see Marco Rubio bolstering one of their tickets. People will find fault with any candidate but you can’t always let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Jeb Bush is way too establishment for me but if it comes down to him and Hillary I will obviously be knocking on doors for him.
I love how Chris and Dewey attack conservative economic policy, saying that letting business and individuals keep more of their own money won’t help the economy but never quite telling us what actually would help the economy. Is it Dewey’s contention that taxing everyone into poverty is somehow going to raise us all into prosperity? Please show me how we prosper without giving the people the freedom to create wealth.
Under Obama right now our middle class is being destroyed. If you make $40K to $50K right now people on welfare are probably better off than you are working. That is Obamanomics and I don’t believe Hillary will do anything to fix it. As the middle class shrinks and we continue to slip towards becoming Greece, who is going to pay for the bailout?
Even now, California’s Democrat governor is proposing new tax increases to pay for roads. This after his budget, the largest in state history, did nothing for road improvement. We can no longer count on democrat government to pay for the most basic of government services while they bleed us dry.
Is there anyone on the left who cares about the suffering of the middle class? Anyone?

    • Post Scripts says:

Thanks Steve, I’m sure we all appreciate the insight.

“Even now, California’s Democrat governor is proposing new tax increases to pay for roads. This after his budget, the largest in state history, did nothing for road improvement. I really didn’t have a comment to make on your quote, I just enjoyed repeating it.

    • Post Scripts says:

I like Scott Walker too. I think if Bush just walked onto the scene without the baggage from his Dad and brother, he would be a pretty good choice, but yeah, he looks like an old establishment candidate right now for sure.

IMO…The most important thing the Republicans could do for a GOP victory in 2016 is to assure the America people they will follow through on their agenda, starting now. We really must get some landmark legislation going and bring back something similar to the Contract with America. People need to know exactly what it is that the GOP is going to do with a White House victory, because right now I am confused. If I don’t understand their future plans then I’m pretty sure most other average people don’t either.

  27. Chris says:

Steve: “I love how Chris and Dewey attack conservative economic policy, saying that letting business and individuals keep more of their own money won’t help the economy but never quite telling us what actually would help the economy.”

I’ve said this many times but it’s been a while:

    1) Raise the minimum wage for businesses with more than 50 full-time employees
    2) Put punitive restrictions on outsourcing
    3) Raise the capital gains tax to make it equal with income taxes, like Reagan did
    4) Lower taxes on small business owners and those making under $35,000 a year
    5) Close loopholes exploited by the wealthy

There’s more, but that’s the short list
