The Attorney General of New York, Eric T. Schneiderman, has subpoenaed financial records, emails, and other documents from EXXON Mobile. Why? To investigate whether the company “lied to the public about the risks of climate change or to investors about how such risk might hurt the oil business.”
Question. On what will they establish the basis for determining so-called lies?

In addition to ignoring the First Amendment, Schneiderman is apparently unaware that the claim that the world is endangered by a warming climate is a scientific theory, not a proven fact. There is dissention in the scientific community about this theory, and robust debate about both the temperature evidence and computer models on which the theory is based.
In fact, as the Heritage Foundation’s Nicolas Loris points out, “flaws discovered in the scientific assessment of climate change have shown that the scientific consensus is not as settled as the public had been led to believe.” Leaked emails and documents from various universities and researchers have “revealed conspiracy, exaggerated warming data, possibly illegal destruction and manipulation of data, and attempts to freeze out dissenting scientists from publishing their work in reputable journals.” Furthermore, the “gaffes” that have been exposed in the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports “have only increased skepticism” about the credibility of this scientific theory.

Spakovsky also reveals that AG Schneiderman has been secretly investigating Peabody Energy, the nations largest coal producing company for two years. Peabody is cooperating and in doing so fall prey to the radical agitator in the NY AG’s office. I can’t blame them for wanting to avoid court costs since coal is already under duress having been regulated unfairly in the last few years.
What’s wrong with these hunting expeditions? Spakovsky explains in chilling detail:
One wonders whether General Schneiderman realizes that he seems to be following the Soviet technique of having the government interfere in science and prosecute anyone who doesn’t agree with the theory most in vogue with politicians and the state. Joseph Stalin was infamous for his direct involvement in academic disputes in areas ranging from linguistics to physics. According to “Stalin and the Soviet Science Wars,” a 2006 book published by the Princeton University Press, he only “called off an effort to purge Soviet physics of ‘bourgeois’ quantum mechanics and relativity” as the Soviets were developing their first atomic bomb. Aleksandr Solzhenistsyn’s book, “In the First Circle,” was all about the Soviet government’s suppression of scientists and engineers with the wrong scientific views.
Besides the dangers of criminal or civil charges being lodged against these companies, the other obvious result of such investigations, which may be their intent, is to chill the speech and advocacy of any “bourgeois” who disagrees with the so-called “consensus” that the climate change theory is real and that it is human activity that is the main cause of the world warming up by a minuscule amount.
It’s time to throw the bums out! All across America radical leftists from the sixties generation, in politics and the private sector, have been agitating, stirring up trouble, and tyrannically killing business. From race relations, to class envy, to the environment and more we have been subjected to divisive, disruptive, unreasonable activist leadership and it’s destroying the country.

They Knew, but the investors demanded that profits by law are more important than humanity. And actually they are correct. The fascists got a supreme court ruling in the early 1900’s that a corporation was no longer for the good of the people. Their sole purpose was to earn profits for investors.

How dare you arrogantly imagine that you care more about the condition of our planet than I do…or than the folks at EXXON Mobile do. We all have to breath the same air and drink the water. We all rely on the bounty of the earth for our survival. Think!
The condition of our planet also includes people who need jobs, hospital supplies, warm clothing, houses to live in, food, fuel to warm and cool their abodes! Everything we have depends on fossil fuels. Stop production of we’re tossed back to the horse and buggy days when most people scrapped out a living on a little plot of land and washed their clothing in a tub in water warmed over a fire. Talk about a threat to survival for millions of people…imagine!
The climate change snow job is an obvious fabrication if for no other reason than the overly dramatic, Hollywood style fear mongering. You guys have little tiny kids shaking in their snow boots and wondering when the world will be flooded.

If the danger is as great as the liars say it is why do they continue to drive around in SUV’s, fly to their hearts content, live a life of luxurious consumption…are they not afraid for their own kids?
Honest researchers are not afraid of looking at all of possibilities and all of the current thinking. They do not try to squelch opposing or differing views, they embrace them! Science is about eliminating all of the possibilities until you are left with only one! As long as there are doubts there is NO CONCENCUS!
Interestingly, The Hill reports on the research at EXXON: “Over the next decade, the company embarked on an ambitious, multimillion-dollar research agenda to better understand climate change and how its operations were contributing. Then quotes James Black: “Present thinking holds that man has a time window of five to ten years before the need for hard decisions regarding changes in energy strategies might become critical.” That was in 1978!
That was around the same time that “scientists” were warning us we were all going to freeze to death!
I recall a movie star or two warning that within the next decade the Amazon Jungle would disappear. Ted Danson was certain we’d run out of fossil fuels by the year 2000. Celebrities were falling all over themselves to get out in fron and look lie they were making a difference.
Then suddenly, cooling was out and global warming was all the rage! Al Gore got on board, wrote a book, and pretended to know what he was talking about as he jet-setted around the globe polluting and talking to anyone who’d give him a stage. He was so successful in his lies that governments began to listen to him. Soon the notion of carbon exchanges became a viable solution and Al Gore had already positioned himself to profit mightily as part owner of one of the exchanges.
By the time this bunch of alarmist opportunists switched the narrative to “climate change” (So they could have it both ways) the house of cards began to tumble. Obama promised (2008) that this would be the moment when ” the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.” But the 1988 dire prediction of rising tides within 40 years has not even slightly begun to materialize…Obama wins by default
EXXON Mobile should be commended for doing their own research. If they have kept some of their findings secret perhaps its because of the hostile, litigious nature of climate agitators who also happen to be gigantic liars.
There are two issues involved here and they should be separated.
Political environmentalism is a vehicle of control. It is filled with agitators and alarmists with a two pronged agenda, 1. To elect radical leftists, and 2. To gain control of energy production for the state (In reality the UN world governing body)
Environmental science is the vehicle of research. It is filled with good, honest scientific researchers AND a bunch of charlatan scientists that have sold science down the river for money and a job…for fame and standing in the warming community.
The NYT reported 3 days ago that there was a “range of opinions” at EXXON Mobile. That’s exactly what I would expect from honest scientists.
It’s time to step back and let scientists do their work.
