I woke up this morning to news about another [MUSLIM] terrorist attack, this time at a Radisson Hotel in Mali. This West African country has a close tie to France, although this time its Al Qaeda that is claiming responsibility. There is no question that the risk of terrorism is ever present in any Muslim community and that Obama’s wish to bring in thousands of Muslim refugees does pose a threat. To deny this is to be foolish, so why Is Obama pressing so hard to bring in refugees?
Well, we don’t know what’s going on inside Obama’s head, but we can make a number of deductions based on past practices and current facts. Obama has a bias here, he has a soft spot for Muslims probably because of the way he was raised. This is published in his book – so this much should no one. But, have you considered these immigrants could be good for the democrats? They are drawn to the democratic party because of what draws most new immigrants, entitlements and the perception that democrats look out for the little guy (aka socialism). Muslims are dedicated voters, so this makes them a valuable political ally. 
Embracing immigrants for the sake of political power may not be the best reason to allow these refugees in, but it’s understandable, if not expected. But, what about the problem of Muslim assimilation into our culture? The Muslims arriving today are coming here to avoid being killed in a war, they’re not coming here e because they love America or yearn for freedom. They already have their vision of politics because its part of their religion. Once they (refugees) are here they group together with other Muslims to form a sub-culture within our culture, that’s not helpful and then they start making demands for us to accommodate them. Prayer breaks, Halal food, women in berkas lined up at the DMV for a photo, etc. We’ve seen it in France, why should it be any different here?
They have no interest in embracing Western values! Our values are viewed by Muslims as too decadent and contrary to the Holy Koran. Their notion of government is based on fundamentalist religious view that is mostly incompatible with our notion of freedom and inherent rights. Their only hope is to correct what they see is a problem and change it by the vote or by more forceful means later as their numbers permit. The Koran commands that they change us, and that they must not bend to the will of our culture.
We’ve seen Muslim culture clashes across Europe for several decades and sometimes this has resulted violence and murder, other times its just a protest march with slogans about death to free speech and democracy. They couldn’t have made it any more clear to the infidels who naively endorse their immigration, could they? And yet, the progressives and the religious right are holding out hope that this won’t happen in America, that these Muslims will somehow be different.
This is the greatest danger to America, not terrorism, although that is a significant threat too. But, an American divided into sub-cultures, each vying for their own domination and distinct cultural values undermines everything our founders gave us.
Our idealism and principals served us well and they are worth preserving from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Sound familiar? It should, every person who has ever served in the military or in law enforcement has taken that oath. And when you say the pledge of allegiance, you’re taking a solemn oath to keep this nation “indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” No where in any oath of office in America does it require us to preserve and protect sub-cultures.
As written by the famous political thinker, Alexis-Charles-Henri Clérel de Tocqueville in the middle 1800’s, this nation has survived and prospered, not because of our diversity, but because we were a diverse collection of people that united behind a commonly understood and wholly embraced idealism, one rooted in freedom. Alex de Tocqueville realized our strength as a people came from assimilation and unity, not sub-cultures.
President Obama is quick to mock and lecture those who disagree with his [dangerous] immigration policy, but he ought to be the last person to lecture us on immigration. His values and performance in office have very little to do with protecting our freedom and preserving our democracy. This is why 100% of Republicans and 37 Democrats in Congress have called on Obama reconsider his reckless refugee program. We’re going to have to live with its consequences for many generation. And to understand what this future will look like we need only look at the dramatic changes taking place in Europe. Host nations are being forced into accommodation and sometimes into cultural assimilation by the determined new arrivals. Is that what you want for America?

I was told in another debate forum the we (the US) has brought in about 100,000 refugees from Iraq already.
My question to this would be: How many do we have to take in to achieve the title of “compassionate?” 10,000? 1 million?
We’re always being told we are a mean-spirited country, and that the ailments of the world are our fault, so I’d just like to know what the number is? Perhaps we have already reached it with the 100,000 here now.
This kind of goes in hand with previous questions I’ve had to my liberal friends about what level of taxes I have to pay to be considered a good person, along with how much crime I have to tolerate and how much public degradation I need to look the other way from. We already know that electing a black president did not secure our country the award of “no longer being considered a racist nation.”

I’ll take the occasion to once again to recommend the book, “Radical Son,” by David Horowitz. He was in the Berkley/Oakland area during the seventies and his insiders account of what happened offers quite an education. The book is an easy read, fascinating and informative.
Dewey’s Nazi remarks would usually be over the line, but your top candidate recently suggested registering all Muslims and forcing them to carry special IDs–an obvious Nazi tactic. Now I know most of you are not Trump fans and don’t support his more outrageous statements, but I think a statement this disgusting, from a candidate who remains at the top of the polls, deserves more pushback and overt condemnation.

Well, Cruz is certainly preferable to Carson or Trump. For one thing, he has actual experience in government–I know the idea that being president is the one and only job in the world that takes no prior experience in the field has taken hold among many, but it isn’t true. For another, Cruz actually knows a few things about American history, unlike Ben “”Every signer of the Declaration of Independence had no federal elected office experience” Carson and Donald “I saw thousands of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating 9/11, it was on the teevee, also I saw Goody Proctor with the devil” Trump.
We agree. Plus, Cruz knows the Constitution, which I don’t believe either Carson or Trump do at any level.

I’ve been saying the same thing. Trump would rule the same as Obama except from the right with even more EOs. I want someone who will follow our laws, the Constitution and equal balance of power amongst the three branches of gov’t.

I know for a fact that you can tell the difference between IDs that apply to everyone, and forcing only members of a certain religion to carry a special ID identifying their religion, so I don’t know why you would pretend to be unable to tell the difference. In case anyone here really is as ignorant of civil rights law, the constitution, and world history as Tina just pretended to be: making all citizens carry an ID in order to drive is constitutional, while making members of a certain religion carry a special ID identifying their religion is not constitutional. Obviously. It also makes anyone who passed eighth grade make comparisons to the treatment of Jews before the Holocaust.

What are you complaining about Dewey?
The article you posted clearly said that the cops had already arrested 2 people in connection with the shooting (1 white, 1 Hispanic) and had placed extra guards around the protesters.
That would be the group, police officers, that many activists and their cheerleaders have smeared as racist in the last couple of years…even before the evidence was in.
The pieces of trash that did this have no support in the broader community. That one thing makes them different than the Islamist terrorists we face…there are others. The bigger point is these are separate issues and will be dealt with in different ways.
But I’ll tell you what, if radical lefties continue to divide this nation on the basis of race and class, if they continue to blame groups (cops) or items (guns) for murders rather than the individuals who actually committed the crime, if they continue to bully the people you will see an uprising in defense. The bullies will be met if they continue their false, victims war against innocent groups of Americans.
We are a nation of laws…and it works.
