A recent poll of “400 Republican caucus goer” saw Ted Cruz jump ahead by 21 points according to Conservative Treehouse. That puts Cruz at 31% and marks the “largest and fastest rise in the history of Iowa Caucus polling. ” His closest competitor is Trump at 21% with Carson at 13% followed by Rubio at 10%. The rest of the field fell away at 6% and below.
What’s to like about Ted Cruz? In my opinion he would bring several important attitudes and skills to the office.
The first is his knowledge of the Constitution. Perhaps because of his fathers experience in Cuba Cruz developed an interest in the US Constitution as a teen and memorized it in full. He then spent years studying the Constitution and after becoming a lawyer spent years in a Texas law firm where he wrote “80 U.S. Supreme Court briefs and argued 43 oral arguments, including nine before the U.S. Supreme Court.” He also served as the Texas Solicitor General where he successfully argued several landmark cases before the Supreme Court. Ted Cruz will speak clearly without the bluster and ego of Trump. I’m 95% sure he’s my guy.
Of all the anti-establishment candidates, Cruz is the one with the most experience at fighting both liberals and beltway moderate republicans. He has the same strength in public speaking as Marco Rubio without being soft on immigration. He has the same strength and intestinal fortitude of Donald Trump without putting his foot in his mouth constantly.

Ted Cruz is my first pick and vote for President.
With that said, I will support whichever Republican nominee is selected over Hillary Clinton. Our country cannot afford four more years of economic failure and military weakness. American voters cannot take four more years of a leader we do not trust to put our people first. More than half of voters do not trust Hillary, and this alone will foster more divisiveness and political anger. We have to do better.
In one poll 63% of Americans say they do not trust Hillary. The question is how many of those are lefties who will vote for her anyway.
Our country cannot afford four more years of economic failure and military weakness.
Economic failure? let’s see….hum where were we when PBO took office and compare. Republicans blocked all progress to Blame PBO.

Besides the fact Cruz is a Lobbyist who got into office he works for his donors period. now what voting base has Cruz been silently pandering to in the background. preachers who call to exterminate all gays? Yep he will make a great candidate for GOP he can take the Trump voters…

But forget Cruz’s policies there is a little problem. he was not born on US soil. So are we going to define the phrase “naturalized Citizen” so every foreign born person with an American parent can run for president?
Cruz has a ground game planned but ya know what…he is very hated as the Koch Tool he is…watch out for Romneyman! Or who ever the establishment brings in.
Cruz is not an honest man he lies more than Romney ever did.

Cruz, Mike Huckabee and Bobby Jindal went to the religious liberty confab with Pastor Kevin kill the gays Swanson and pandered to them for votes. They expected we would not notice.
Maybe you should watch his father and see how young Rafael was brought up before you accuse others. They are nutjobs and no Rafael jr is not the anointed one as father claims. Furthermore there is no Gods law that over rules Fed law.

Just about anyone whose a big government control nut…that would be a fascist OR a communist depending on how far he’d take it. 90% tax on the wealthy just about says it all. Why doesn’t he just move to Cuba?
The Examiner posted a comment from the Cruz campaign addressing the criticism he’s received for attending the liberty conference: “Senator Cruz, other candidates and speakers were guests at that conference with no control and influence on other’s speeches,” a Cruz staffer told the Examiner. “He was there for just a short while. He was interviewed on stage and talked about religious liberty. He did not and would not endorse the comments of this man’s choice of topics and what he said.”
You’d have to prove a closer relationship to make this guest appearance equal to agreement, Dewey.
I find it hysterical that the party faithful that denied or lied about Obama’s associations with the terrorist, Bill Ayers, or his long relationship with his pastor, the hateful, racist, Jeremiah Wright, would have such a hissyfit about an appearance at a conference…but it doesn’t surprise me.

Both parties have fringe elements. As you often say, don’t we have better things to talk about…and better ways to spend our time?
Cruz is also my first choice for president for all of the reasons given, plus when he got to DC he kept his promise to those he represents in Texas. He’s an honest man of his word and in today’s politics that’s a rarity. I can’t wait to see him in a debate with Hillary. She’ll need to take more of those meds she took prior to her last hearing to keep from going nuclear again.
I also liked what Rand Paul did and said prior to the Kentucky senate race. When he supported McConnell instead of Bevin for that race he lost me. He was willing to sell out for political favors from the establishment GOP and its cost him big time. He would have been in the top tier in my opinion, but now can’t get out of the bottom.
Peggy every one of the politicians you mentioned sell out for political favors. Cruz has his billionaires just like Rand and Hilliary. The money is an investment to which they expect a return plain and simple.
So does Sanders…he’s just more covert about it. Sanders’ receives support from worker’s unions and teacher’s federations and they are big donors. Also there’s this guy:

Obama has not only outsourced jobs, he’s used tax dollars to outsource jobs, he’s personally benefited from investments in companies that outsource jobs, and he’s overseen companies replacing American workers with imported workers for less pay and benefits.

It’s the policies stupid! When regulations and taxes make it hard for companies to compete this is the kind of thing companies do…even lefty companies and companies that support lefties.
If you want it to work you have to understand what will make it work. Hint…it isn’t socialism or big government control.
