Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, ex-navy officer and founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy has been working tirelessly to encourage moderate Muslims to join together to push for reforms in the religion. His work is finally paying off in the form of the “Muslim Reform Movement,” an alliance of Muslim groups from Canada, several European nations, and America. These groups have joined forces to reject radical elements of their religion and speak out against groups, like CAIR, that they believe promote and/or fund radical Islam:
CAIR is a primary obstacle in the effort of many honest American Muslims who recognize our need to own up and lead long-overdue reforms against the root causes of radicalization: Islamism and its separatism. …
… CAIR’s information is marketed and packaged so it seems that they speak for all of us, but they don’t speak for me and my group,” said Raheel Raza, president of the Council for Muslims Facing Tomorrow. “CAIR does not and has never represented the majority Muslim voices which are as diverse as Muslims in America.”
The reforms they seek include the things they profoundly reject: violent jihad and the idea of an Islamic State and its Sharia Law, as well as a list of demands: separation of “mosque and state,” individual freedom, human rights and gender equality, and secular democracy.
The group claims they are in a “fight for the soul of Islam.”
Dr. Jasser’s group, American Islamic Forum for Democracy, spells out it’s foundational ideals here.
I’m a big fan of Dr. Jasser, a patriotic American, and I applaud him, the various organizations that have joined with him, and the work they have come together to accomplish.
This is not new, but it needs to be embellished. They have been working hard and this is good. We need this to happen to all extremists in all religions.
Dewey this is about accepted church doctrine. The Christian religion reformed long ago. Individual criminals we handle with our justice system. What religion did you have in mind?
And Dewey what is it with you? Why must everything be “new?”
We’ve been posting about Dr Jasser for several years…before you joined us. This is in the news today. We do current events.
Tina : What is with Dewey is that he loves to make snotty condescensions so as to appear intelligent.
Dewey : It isn’t working.
Pie look in the mirror
🙂 Interesting.
Dewey Clewey Hooey,
That is my advice to you. Try it sometime. Some self reflection on your part might help if you were not such a pompous narcissist.
Correct me if I am wrong (and not that it matters), but wasn’t it I who introduced Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser and the American Islamic Forum for Democracy to these pages?
Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser is also a founder of the Muslim Reform Movement.

I don’t think so. I posted about Dr. Jasser at least once before you became a regular. I remember being surprised (in a good way) when you brought him into the conversation because at the time he wasn’t that well known. And you’re right, it doesn’t matter who first introduced him.
David Horowitz is another person who I discovered we have in common after you started posting. He is another who contributes mightily to education and reform.
If we had something other than a muslim sympathizer in the white house, the IRS and DOJ would already be taking a serious look at CAIR.
Perhaps after a change of presidents, CAIR might not be quite so prevalent . . . .
Let us hope that all changes with the next president.
All Christians are not bad neither are all Muslims.
Uh, duh.
Opportunity knocks.
Clewey thank you for posting a comment and taking the position we at Post Scripts also hold.
We need to be aware of and name radical elements that exist to do harm to and impose their will on others. Morally equivalent arguments become a useless distraction and are usually made for political reasons. It would be better for all people of all religions if we would come together to defeat the radical, tyrannical Muslim terrorist currently waging war in the world, don’t you agree?
There will always be individual criminals, bad or crazy people, who aim to terrorize as they murder and we must deal with them on an individual basis through the criminal justice system, if they live. But this enemy is an enemy to freedom and peace for everyone of every religion. Let’s stick together to win.
Yes, Christian terrorists are a huge problem.
Rascal!
