Political correctness is getting people killed. Proof comes in the form of a retired DHS employee, Phillip Haney, whose case was shut down by State Department and Homeland Security ‘s Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Division officials. The explanation was concern for the civil liberties of foreigners:
“The administration was more concerned about the civil rights and liberties of foreign Islamic groups with terrorist ties than the safety and security of Americans,” Haney says.
A colleague supporting Haney’s whistleblowing told him, “‘All I can think about are the peoples’ families in San Bernardino because our job was to stop things like that, and there’s an irrefutable direct connection because it was part of the case,'” Haney recounts in this 23-minute exclusive video interview for The Daily Caller News Foundation. “When these records were deleted, the dots were deleted. The plausible possibility was eradicated.”
Challenging these policy changes up his DHS chain of command, and then to the Department’s Inspector General, Haney’s courage and tenacity to protect Americans only ended up putting a target on his own back. Of Haney’s records, 67 were deleted. He faced discipline and retaliation, until he finally retired in July of this year after enduring significant personal and professional “trauma and difficulty.”
Haney described his job in simple terms, “follow the trail, find the nest.” If his story is accurate, and I have no reason to doubt him given the track record of this administration, our government decided that the lives of those American citizens murdered in San Bernardino were of no importance when compared to the rights of terrorists. The government responded first to demands made by the following organizations in a letter posted here: “Advocacy for Principled Action in Government, American Center for Outreach, American Civil Liberties Union, American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), Arab American Action Network (AAAN), Arab American Association of New York, Arab American Institute, Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF), Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Asian Law Caucus, Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Los Angeles.”
I understand the concern for the liberties of freedom loving, peaceful people who respect the rights and liberties of others. I do not understand giving aid and cover to those committed to a war based in terror, murder and the establishment of a world-wide tyrannical theocracy. I question the motives of the organizations and officials who fail to put the importance involved in discovering and eradicating terror cells and lone wolf terrorists above PC concerns.
I posted this in another Post Scripts comments thread but it was ignored. No matter, very happy to see it get into a blog post.
THIS is how Obama combats Islamic terrorism. I feel safer already, don’t you?
My question is, how many more innocent American citizen lives will Obama’s insane PC policies take?
I’m sorry Pie. I didn’t ignore your comment and would have credited you had I been aware. I try to keep up with every comment but when I’m busy or working on other things I’m it’s easy to overlook something.
The left, through their irresponsible Alinsky styled rhetoric, accuses Americans of “hating” Muslims, thus creating a world-wide opinion that America is filled with Muslim haters. The left develops a policy to shame these phantom haters (PC). The left makes a big show of shaming the haters…”not who we are,” to slap this label on republicans. Then the left claims that this “hate” is used as a recruitment tool for terrorists and expresses disdain for the “haters” that it created out of thin air.
Obama and the cadre of extreme, tyrannical Democrat leadership are “not who we are.” They have no idea who we are. they are enamored with collectivism and totalitarian governments. This is not mere opinion. Their record of snuggling up to totalitarian revolutionaries and governments is long. their record of trying to undermine the Constitution and our republican form of government is long. The “fundamental transformation” of America is the destruction of America in terms of “who we are,” and they know it.
Instead of being up front about their politics or their intent they wrap themselves in language that creates the illusion that they our country and it’s values. They are living a deception and selling snake oil.
Sadly any number could die. If we are fortunate, if we shed enough light, perhaps none will die, but don;t count on it.
I certainly hope da prez got an earful from the San Berdoo victims’ families on his well-publicized stopover enroute to another vacation, since it was Obumble’ s PC BS that was directly responsible for their having to attend funerals!
Even if he did, J, he would dismiss them just as Hillary dismisses the parents of the Benghazi victims.
J., I heartily concur with your sentiments. Forgive me a well used line—at this point, what difference does it make? IMHO, none at all. Even if he did get an earful, he. Does. Not. Care. He never has. It seems to me that this may be starting to sink in with at least some of the 47%.
A bit off topic, but still security related—
Excerpt—
“These intrusions have not caused the kind of cascading blackouts that are feared by the intelligence community. But so many attackers have stowed away in the systems that run the U.S. electric grid that experts say they likely have the capability to strike at will.”
Right. Smart meters, anyone?

If they suspect a change toward strength in our leadership in 2016, this could happen sooner rather than latter.
And now for something a bit more positive. Enjoy.

As I am posting this, I can hear this C-47 passing overhead at about 1500 ft.

What a beautiful and touching tribute for General Dempsey.
As long as I am on a one man thread hijack, here is a reminder from another Christmas long ago—
