The latest document dump of emails from the State Department includes an email in which Hillary Clinton instructed an adviser to remove a classified marking, which is a felony:
“This is gigantic,” said diGenova. “She caused to be removed a classified marking and then had it transmitted in an unencrypted manner. That is a felony. The removal of the classified marking is a federal crime. It is the same thing to order someone to do it as if she had done it herself.”
On the June 17, 2011, email chain with senior State Department adviser Jake Sullivan, Clinton apparently asked Sullivan to change the marking on classified information so that it is no longer flagged as classified.
Clinton, using her private email server, asks for “the TPs,” apparently a reference to talking points being prepared for her. Sullivan, who is using his official State Department email, responds, “They say they’ve had issues sending secure fax. They’re working on it.” Clinton responds, “If they can’t, turn into nonpaper w[ith] no identifying heading and send nonsecure.”
Clinton has claimed she never sent classified information on her server.
(Depends on the definition of “sent,” I suppose)
Hillary’s playing word games. In the view of some professionals in Washington anything that comes out of or into the State Department is by its very nature secret. Maintaining that level of professional care should be a high priority for anyone serving in the State Department. But Clinton’s behavior suggests that she believed herself an entitled elite, above the laws and protocols of our government.
McClatchy reports that at least 1300 emails that Clinton either sent or received contained classified information or documents, a careless, unprofessional, likely felonious, error…or did she think she wouldn’t get caught?
Why is she still walking around free?
The stench of dishonesty and law breaking is also definitely fouling the atmosphere of her campaign which puts the democrats in a bit of a pickle too. What do they do if Hillary is indicted? Will Bernie do… or will they be forced to turn to another alternative? If the latter…who?
It’s going to be an fascinating year.
$hrilLIARy will look very fetching in her Spring ensemble orange prison pantsuit . . .
Hillary should also be facing public condemnation at Watergate levels by now but the press still has her back. Maybe it’s a good thing. The FBI is not leaking information. Orange may yet be Hillary’s Spring color.
It’s been reported that Obama refused to allow long time friend Sid Blumenthal to be on Hillary’s staff as an adviser. She defied that order by going around him in using the private email server. One email between the two contains, “a detailed intelligence report” with information from Blumenthals “private intelligence service.” That “service” includes a source, Tyler Drumheller, who is “a former CIA senior official and veteran spy-gadfly, who conveniently died just before EmailGate became a serious problem for Hillary’s campaign,” according to John R. Schindler of the Observer.
The email is reportedly “astonishingly detailed” and explains, “…how Sudan’s government devised a clandestine plan, in coordination with two rebel generals, to secure control of oil reserves in the disputed region of Abyei.”
I’m just Mrs. American nobody but even I can imagine quite easily that this kind of information is not something that should be floating around in a non-secure environment, which is why government employees are required to use government servers.
In other news – Obumble has announced he’s going to invite a Syrian refugee as his guest for his SOTU speech, and will have an open seat “to honor shooting victims and pressure Clowngress” on gun control.
Wouldn’t it be a great No Confidence vote for Obumle should his SOTU speech be given to a chamber empty of Republicans? The GOP could invite the ghosts of Brian Terry, the Benghazi heroes, our Veterans, the ATF, Border Patrol and DEA folks who are no longer with us to take their places . . . .
And I’m sure that Obumble’s token Syrian refugee will be just as “rigorously vetted” as the San Berdoo shooters were . . .
“The GOP could invite the ghosts of Brian Terry, the Benghazi heroes, our Veterans, the ATF, Border Patrol and DEA folks who are no longer with us to take their places”
Or simply their families and friends! I know you were going for the “empty chair” routine but this is a seriously good idea!
