ANSWERS:

1. He is not a billionaire. Forbes magazine researchers have placed his worth at $4 billion, while Trump asserts that he is worth $10 billion. A disclosure document recently released by the Federal Election Commission lists 515 different positions and 168 assets and sources of income for Trump.

The assets include 23 that are valued at more than $50 million each. Many items require that he check the box marked “$50 million or more” when they could be worth considerably more, meaning Trump’s fortune may be higher than the disclosure suggests.

2. Trump is not a successful businessman. Critics says he inherited a fortune from his family and has declared bankruptcy several times. But Trump’s father had a net wealth estimated at between $250 million and $400 million at the time of his death, and he had four surviving children who were heirs, so Trump is responsible for accumulating the great bulk of his fortune. Trump has never personally declared bankruptcy. Some businesses he controlled or licensed his name have, but this is not unusual for a mogul who has owned hundreds of properties and businesses through the years.

3. He said all Mexicans were rapists. What he said while announcing his candidacy is that illegal immigrants from Mexico are “bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

Trump has made it clear he was not saying all Mexicans are criminals or that all illegal aliens are criminals, but the media have continued to charge that he branded Mexican immigrants as rapists. He has also said he “loves” the Mexican people, but was referring to the Mexican government.

4. Trump said John McCain is not a war hero. The Washington Post reported that Trump said “McCain was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese.” But Trump immediately modified his statement by saying, four times, that McCain is a war hero, including: “He is a war hero” and “he is a war hero because he was captured.”

The Post also did not put Trump’s remarks in the context of a feud between Trump and the Arizona senator, who has characterized some Trump supporters as “crazies.”

5. Only 2,500 people showed up to hear Trump speak at the Phoenix Convention Center. The Phoenix Business Journal reported that 4,200 people were on hand, and noted, significantly, that “there were scores of Trump backers that did not get into his rally because the room hit fire code capacity.” Other independent observers have placed the crowd at over 7,500.

6. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus spoke at length with Trump and asked him to tone down his rhetoric. Trump said that in fact he spoke with Priebus for just 10 minutes and Priebus told him that Trump hit a “nerve, doing well.” He said Priebus told him “you can’t change your personality and I understand that.” Trump said it “was a really nice call, a congratulatory call.”

7. Hispanics don’t like Trump. A poll by One America News Network in Nevada found that Trump received 31.4 percent support among Hispanics, higher than the 27.7 percent he received overall. The only other candidate to receive double digit support from Hispanics was Scott Walker. with 11.4 percent.

8. Trump lied about his salary from “The Apprentice.” MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell claimed that Trump’s statement in his federal disclosure document that he made more than $213 million as host of the NBC reality show was a “complete, total lie.” Later that same day O’Donnell backed away from the claim, saying “I don’t know” how much Trump really earned.

9. Trump was a draft dodger. Pundit Fact, a site powered by PolitiFact.com, looked into the charge and concluded: “To the best of our knowledge, no one has charged Trump with violating the Selective Service law. His student deferments were routine. And unless someone has new information, there is no legal issue with his medical deferment.”

10. Americans are outraged by Trump’s comments on immigration. According to Rasmussen Reports, 63 percent of Americans want the U.S. to gain control of the border, as Trump has demanded. His strong showing in the polls is further proof of support for his stance.

  1. J. Soden says:

The real loser this year is the Moron Media. With their hysterical attacks on TheDonald and glorifying the Black LIES Matter lunatics, more and more folks who haven’t been paying close attention are now seeing the self-promoting talking heads for what they are: Shills for the Left reporting Agendas rather than news, therefore becoming PRESSTITUTES.
Media hysteria sometimes makes you wonder if their rabies shots are up to date . . . .

  2. Tina says:

Trump has out media’d the media. He’s pushed all the activation buttons of radical left organizations. And he has the political class worried.

You can’t say he isn’t shaking things up, that’s for sure.

  3. Dewster says:

OMG you again did not do any research

In fact what trump reported was gross receipts. Also trump used the bankruptcy laws to create wealth. He readily admits that.

Fact is Trump is no great businessman nor should a president be elected because he is a businessman. we are not employees of USA INC. We want to end the fascism not endorse it.

That is the business model attacking our cities, states, and businesses. Much like the Romney model.

You guys live in a bubble far from the real world.

  4. Tina says:

The real world for you Dewey is no place anyone has ever known.

You couldn’t tell a business model from a utility bill…and your lack the basic skills to identify an authoritarian are MIA.

But go ahead…give us an example of a “business model attacking our cities.” Maybe you have a You Tube video you could share…..

…I’ve never seen a “business model” attack before!

Is it anything like the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes?

    I

  5. Chris says:

I see we’re back in the “defend Trump in case he turns out to be our nominee” part of this election cycle. And more aggressively than last time, too.

    Sad.

  6. Tina says:

Smug reply from someone who can’t risk touting his own potential candidates.

It would be comical. Chris promotes the radical socialist so he won’t have to defend the criminal.

  7. Tina says:

Tough choice on your side. The problem is compounded when the criminal keeps running toward the Bern on taxes. Either way if your side wins we are sc****d economically. Our military won’t fare well either. And our constitution will continue to be shredded to implement “communalism,” another soft word for Marx that Hillary hoped would fly.

  8. dewster says:

    Tina

Taxes? No way to get rid of them. Our military takes up over half the budget and money is squandered. Ever think we should stop paying these high prices for everything done by privatized military contracts? The People pay to send materials to build on military planes then it costs an extreme amount to build because why? Profits.

They sent hundreds of skeets containing US cash to Iraq. There was no accounting. It just was distributed. There is still the matter of 2.3 Trillion unaccounted for.

You need to wake up. Let’s stop the bleeding of taxpayers for the elites profits.

Can you even name all the corporate subsidies we give? Do you support American Companies moving HQ to foreign countries to avoid taxes and helping to build the roads they use then dictating US Laws designed to increase investor profits?

I am leaving DC area soon to go to Florida but you should really come down and get involved a bit. You will see how things really work in politics. The Media is no more than corporate propaganda steering the public in the name of their own profits.

  9. Tina says:

    Dewey stop LYING!

Defense at 12% of 2016 budget can’t compare with 22% for healthcare, 19% for pensions, or even 15% for education. Welfare is at 7% but some of that spending is hidden in the agriculture budget where the sap program is funded.

“Let’s stop the bleeding of taxpayers for the elites profits.”

All for downsizing government. Your buddy Bernie is in favor of expanding our federal government and that means more areas where money can be “squandered,” or simply unaccounted for. I think it is you who needs to wake up.

“Can you even name all the corporate subsidies we give?

Does it matter when my position is limited government? I’m for ending ALL OF THEM. What’s your excuse? Your Mr. sanders wants to subsidize the university system even more than we already do…FOR PROFITS! OMG!!! Old Bern would takeover healthcare, expanding that area even more and creating more opportunity for fraud and abuse. YOU are a big government, waste and spend guy Mr. Know-it All and you don’t even know it!

Profits, You really have a hang up about profits. I’d love to hear your theories about how the world works without them…go ahead educate us! Explain how a world without profit looks.

“Do you support American Companies moving HQ to foreign countries to avoid taxes…”

NO! As I believe I’ve mentioned before, I’m in favor of a tax structure and policies that would woo those corporations and their lovely jobs back to America. Government is STUPID when it forces it’s own companies to operate at a big disadvantage to it’s foreign competition…companies do what they must to survive and jobs are lost…dumb, dumb, dumb.

“…and helping to build the roads they use then dictating US Laws designed to increase investor profits?”

Ya lost me there pal. How do corporations building roads, a neat trick in itself, lead to dictating US Laws?

We do want increased profits, though. Limited government and increased profits will lead to risk taking and strong investment. Strong investments will help lead to a booming, robust economy and jobs, jobs, jobs….jobs of all kinds and in every category. Something we need desperately and have not had under a big spending big government president…Obama. Bernie will want to do even more of the very thing that has kept our economy bumping along on the bottom with the rich getting rich and the rest of us stuck or falling into poverty.

Whatever has steered you Dewey is nothing I would want. A man that doesn’t get how an economy is built is no friend to the taxpayer or workers.
