The Cycle of Terrorism Shows No Signs of Abating

by Jack

You may recall the ugly incident where three Jewish men in Israel kidnapping a Palestinian teen, beat him and ultimately set him on fire. This atrocity was in response to the kidnapping and stabbing of two Israeli boys.  And of course that kidnapping was in retribution to some other offense against a Palestinian, which was triggered because of an attack against Israeli.  And on and on it goes as far back as you care to investigate.

The grievances and injustices between Israel and Palestine and long and the last attack only lays the foundation for the next one to come.

But, there is a glaring difference between these opposing sides.  Israel arrested and convicted the three men involved in the killing of the Palestinian teen. The opposition has never done this.   Instead, the Palestinian side has  applauded the violence and called for more, but they have never once have held anyone on their side accountable for terrorism.

Today an Israeli soldier (an Army medic) is going on trial for killing a Palestinian after the man lay mortally wounded on the ground.  He and his Palestinian partner had just brutally attacked and killed an Israeli soldier with knives.   The Army Medic walked over to the attacker and shot him once in the head as he lay barely moving.

Granted, there are many in the Israeli community who have said, “Good, the Palestinian  got what he had coming.”  But, this is not the law and that is what matters now.   Israel, like America, is a country of law and they are a republic like America too.  They are the only such nation in the Middle East and for that alone they deserve the support of free people everywhere who believe in the rule of law and not barbarity.

AFDI-Terrorism2-Ad

We need to support Israel and put the pressure on Palestine to be civilized and seek alternatives to violence.  However, as obvious as this may be, the Obama Administration has done almost exactly the opposite and this has empowered Muslim terrorism.

Israel isn’t the problem, Muslim terrorists are and Palestinian terrorists are and Arab people who raise their children to hate Jews are and Arab people who reward acts of terrorisms are… (and the long list continues)

What. you mean to tell me that there is no moral equivalence between Palestinians and Israelis? Outrageous.

  2. Tina says:

    My thoughts exactly, Pie.

The Israelis have demonstrated in countless ways that they are willing to live side by side in peace. They have made agreement after agreement, giving considerable concessions, and in every case the agreement was rejected with violence. Netanyahu is absolutely right, there is no way to negotiate with people that have vowed to kill you and wipe you off the map and whose barbaric ways include teaching kids to hate and sending them off to die with bombs attached to their bodies.

    False

There is a racism problem in Israel likw every other country in the world. Bottom line the real question is “Was the respnse of Israel Disproportionate “? The answer is YES

Worse yet ask the question “How much did it cost US Taxpayers?

BIBI is full of it. BTW those people carrying the signs that say “Kill Them All” are your peaceful Israelis.

Bottom line there are peaceful people on both sides and then there is the right wing.

You have not a clue. You are repeating propaganda

Also Palestine is Blocked in. Trapped. I watched livestreams of that last desecration. did you?

Jesus would not be speaking like this.

You just trashed a whole population of peaceful men women and children. Hamas does not represent all Palestinians. How would you like to br trapped with a terrorist org in your small country where you have to sneak through tunnels to Egypt ect?

    SHAMEFUL at best

Bottom Line Get US Tax Dollars out of the equation.

    • Post Scripts says:

Dewster please don’t bring Jesus into this. It’s not necessary to go there.

      • Post Scripts says:

Dewey I know you may find this hard to believe, but there are actually a few Palestinians that are not Saints and they fall into the “racist” category. But, you probably wouldn’t notice because you are too busy trying to find fault within Israel and against Jews. Hmmmm… you have a broad-based bias against Jews…what would that be called anyway?

      • Dewster says:

What is wrong with Jesus? His scripture?

    • Tina says:

Dewey there are a lot of bottom lines but you seem to have more than anyone else.

I didn’t see a full quote of the official who called for “wiping Gaza off the map” so I can’t comment other than to say after several peace accords it isn’t surprising that some would consider responding in kind. On the other hand it could be this charge is just propaganda.

The entire Middle East is offended when maps of the area include Israel…so map makers leave the nation unmarked on maps in books sent to the ME.

Hamas’ charter calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and its replacement with a Palestinian Islamic state from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean

There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, proposals and International Conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility. The Palestinian people know better than to consent to having their future, rights and fate toyed with.

The PLO Charter Still Calls for Israel’s Destruction

Hamas Covenant: The Preamble to the Charter states: ″Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam invalidates it, just as it invalidated others before it″.

Israel does not have a racism problem. :

As a country in the Middle East committed to the free practice of religion for all, regardless of religious affiliation, Israel stands as an oasis of religious freedom in the Middle East. The Israeli government supports religious services for communities of all faiths. That includes funding Korans and the operating costs for more than 100 mosques as well as the salaries of
Muslim religious leaders; serving as a safe haven for minorities persecuted
in surrounding countries; allowing citizens of any religion to hold political
office; and paying for the upkeep of holy sites for all religions.

Israel also treats Palestinians in their hospitals, even when they’ve acted against the Israelis.

I did not “trash” an entire population of people and I have the same sympathies for innocent people trapped and surrounded by terrorists as zi have for Israelis who are surrounded by terrorists who would like to destroy Israel and the Israeli people. My comments were aimed at the terrorists and those who fund and support them.

Bottom line quoting Jack, “Israel isn’t the problem, Muslim terrorists are and Palestinian terrorists are and Arab people who raise their children to hate Jews are and Arab people who reward acts of terrorisms are… (and the long list continues).

The funds we send Israel are a separate issue!

      • Dewster says:

Tina because I watch real news live on livestreams and you watch TV.

Tina many people no longer watch the MSM news where the real truth is hidden. We have people out there teaching others how to livestream. I happen to follow a man who was there teaching Palestinians how to live stream. I tuned in everyday to the live cams.

It was not a war. There were a couple of initial hamas rockets fired but really it was the nightly horror of the Israeli bombs. No one firing back. The sound of the Drones overhead alone were loud & annoying. Darkness waiting for the next strike.

Sometimes the Israelis would say where they were gong to strike in advance. The cameras were suppose to be in a safe area but still one never knows.

hamas was not in some of the places they struck. In fact to my American eyes it looked like the just wanted to bomb the heck out of their infrastructure.

During the Day loud praying coming from the Mosques while Men digging through the rubble looking for loved ones end up running to their death by snippers shouting “There is No God”

I watched for days while you were watching the Fake news. I compared what i was seeing to the fake news.

I followed people there who gave handles on the stream. They were young people caught in a world of despair and constant bombing. People like You and I.

I commend them for their Bravery and respect them for showing the world what was going on with absolutely no opinion just info as it came.

The Israelis also control their power and in the heat they got power only a few hours a day. They lived in the darkness by candle with the sight and sounds of their city being torn up.

They are completely being abused by the Israelis. That alone complicates everything as some grow up to hate the Israelis for this.

It is your choice to rely on Corrupt Media and TV crap.

I watch in Real Time Live. Maybe you should if you say you care so much.

We pay for this. Bibi is no saint and neither is Hamas. The people of Palestine are trapped in between. They can not get out. They have been surrounded for years.

No economic power. They sneak through tunnels to Egypt and Israel for supplies. Some can go through normally but it took Denny the American 5 hours each time to get through the Border.

A couple days ago Thousands of Israelis were just in the streets saying kill them all.

There majority of Israelis and Palestinians are cool. The extreme wings are the culprits.

Remember Israel is a new country they were already there. We have to find a 2 state solution. As long as Bibi is there we will not get one easy.

Yet our Politicians answer to the Isralei lobby like patsies. Both parties.

We also cover for the Saudi King who just threatened Obama to not release the redacted portion of the 911 papers that will condemn the Saudis to the American Public.

We are lied to, always have been, Time to stop the madness in our Name.

Wake Up War is a Racket and we are the patsies. Now we have a mess that will not go away.

You watched for days live streaming. Big deal! Who held the cameras?

    Re: Lew Rockwell

    Wikipedia:

During the Six-Day War between Israel and several Arab nations, the United States of America maintained a neutral country status.[10] Several days before the war began, the USS Liberty was ordered to proceed to the eastern Mediterranean area to perform a signals intelligence collection mission in international waters near the north coast of Sinai, Egypt.[11] After the war erupted, due to concerns about her safety as she approached her patrol area, several messages were sent to Liberty to increase her allowable closest point of approach (CPA) to Egypt’s and Israel’s coasts from 12.5 and 6.5 nmi (14.4 and 7.5 mi; 23.2 and 12.0 km), respectively, to 20 and 15 nmi (23 and 17 mi; 37 and 28 km), and then later to 100 nmi (120 mi; 190 km) for both countries.[12] Unfortunately, due to ineffective message handling and routing, the CPA change messages were not received until after the attack.[12]

According to Israeli sources, at the start of the war on 5 June, General Yitzhak Rabin (then IDF Chief of Staff) informed Commander Ernest Carl Castle, the American Naval Attaché in Tel Aviv, that Israel would defend its coast with every means at its disposal, including sinking unidentified ships. Also, he asked the U.S. to keep its ships away from Israel’s shore or at least inform Israel of their exact position.[13][14]

American sources said that no inquiry about ships in the area was made until after the Liberty attack ended. In a message sent from U.S. Secretary of State Dean Rusk to U.S. Ambassador Walworth Barbour, in Tel Aviv, Israel, Rusk asked for “urgent confirmation” of Israel’s statement. Barbour responded: “No request for info on U.S. ships operating off Sinai was made until after Liberty incident.” Further, Barbour stated: “Had Israelis made such an inquiry it would have been forwarded immediately to the chief of naval operations and other high naval commands and repeated to dept [Department of State].”[15]

With the outbreak of war, Captain William L. McGonagle of Liberty immediately asked Vice Admiral William I. Martin at the United States Sixth Fleet headquarters to send a destroyer to accompany Liberty and serve as its armed escort and as an auxiliary communications center. The following day, 6 June, Admiral Martin replied: “Liberty is a clearly marked United States ship in international waters, not a participant in the conflict and not a reasonable subject for attack by any nation. Request denied.”[16] He promised, however, that in the unlikely event of an inadvertent attack, jet fighters from the Sixth Fleet would be overhead in ten minutes.

Meanwhile, on 6 June, at the United Nations, in response to United Arab Republic complaints that the United States was supporting Israel in the conflict, U.S. Ambassador Arthur Goldberg said to the Security Council that aircraft of the Sixth Fleet were several hundred miles from the conflict,[12] indicating that elements of the Sixth Fleet itself were far from the conflict. When the statement was made this was the case, since Liberty, now assigned to the Sixth Fleet, was in the central Mediterranean Sea, passing between Libya and Crete;[17] but she would ultimately steam to about 13 nmi (15 mi; 24 km) north of the Sinai Peninsula.[18]

On the night of 7 June Washington time, early morning on 8 June, 01:10Z or 3:10 am local time, the Pentagon issued an order to Sixth Fleet headquarters to tell Liberty to come no closer than 100 nmi (120 mi; 190 km) to Israel, Syria, or the Sinai coast (Oren, p. 263).[19]:5, 58 (Exhibit N)

According to the Naval Court of Inquiry[20]:23 ff, 111 ff and National Security Agency official history,[21] the order to withdraw was not sent on the radio frequency that Liberty monitored for her orders until 15:25 Zulu, several hours after the attack, due to a long series of administrative and message routing problems. The Navy said a large volume of unrelated high-precedence traffic, including intelligence intercepts related to the conflict, were being handled at the time; and that this combined with a shortage of qualified Radiomen contributed to delayed sending of the withdrawal message.[20]:111 ff …

Israel did the right thing after investigations found it had been an unfortunate error:

Israel apologized for the attack, saying that the USS Liberty had been attacked in error after being mistaken for an Egyptian ship.[6] Both the Israeli and U.S. governments conducted inquiries and issued reports that concluded the attack was a mistake due to Israeli confusion about the ship’s identity,[2] though others, including survivors of the attack, have rejected these conclusions and maintain that the attack was deliberate.[7]

In May 1968, the Israeli government paid US$3,323,500 (US$22.6 million 2016) in compensation to the families of the 34 men killed in the attack. In March 1969, Israel paid a further $3,566,457 to the men who had been wounded. On 18 December 1980, it agreed to pay $6 million as settlement for the final U.S. bill of $17,132,709 for material damage to Liberty herself plus 13 years’ interest.[8]

Good allies and neighbors can work together to solve problems.
