Smuggling Ring Caught Moving ME Men at Southern Border

Posted by Tina

Stephen Dinan of the Washington Times reports:

A smuggling network has managed to sneak illegal immigrants from Middle Eastern terrorism hotbeds straight to the doorstep of the U.S., including helping one Afghan who authorities say was part of an attack plot in North America.

Immigration officials have identified at least a dozen Middle Eastern men smuggled into the Western Hemisphere by a Brazilian-based network that connected them with Mexicans who guided them to the U.S. border, according to internal government documents reviewed by The Washington Times.

Those smuggled included Palestinians, Pakistanis and the Afghan man who Homeland Security officials said had family ties to the Taliban and was “involved in a plot to conduct an attack in the U.S. and/or Canada.” He is in custody, but The Times is withholding his name at the request of law enforcement to protect investigations.

Republican Duncan Hunter (CA) shared this information with the Times. The Afghan man was not immediately identified because his name did not appear in the database Border Patrol first used. He did show up in the FBI database. I thought these agencies were all supposed to be sharing information…so what’s up with that?

“It’s disturbing, in so many ways,” said Joe Kasper, Mr. Hunter’s chief of staff. “The interdiction of this group … validates once again that the southern border is wide open to more than people looking to enter the U.S. illegally strictly for purposes of looking for work, as the administration wants us to believe. What’s worse, federal databases weren’t even synced and Border Patrol had no idea who they were arresting and the group was not considered a problem because none of them were considered a priority under the president’s enforcement protocol. That’s a major problem on its own, and it calls for DHS to figure out the problem — and fast.”

Mr. Trumps delivery when he speaks about border issues and the threat from radical Muslims may be too stark for the make nice crowd but when it comes to the FACT that strong measures are called for, he is RIGHT ON THE MONEY! I find his no holds barred delivery incredibly refreshing in this man who would be president. Mr. Smooth Talker has been feckless, apologetic and ineffective in defending the nation and leading the charge to defeat this cancerous enemy.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the chief agency charged with sniffing out smuggling networks, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which oversees the Border Patrol and initially failed to find the terrorist connections, declined to comment. Homeland Security, which oversees both agencies, didn’t provide an answer either.

Plots have been foiled in the last few years since the terrorist expansion but, when it’s obvious that procedures have broken down and our leader shows no sign of determination, the foils are of little comfort. The Presidents first priority should be defense of the nation. America can, and must, do better.

    “He is in custody, ….”

And your problem with this is? Why you thrill to have the WT yank your collective chain is beyond me.

  2. Chris says:

Why don’t we just nuke Mexico? That will solve the border problem entirely.

If you have a problem with this proposal, Tina, it’s because my stark delivery is too no holds barred for your PC sensibilities, and you aren’t committed to the defense of the nation.

Or, it’s because you understand that such a proposal is crazy. Hopefully that gives you a sense of what rational people feel about Trump’s proposal to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it.

  3. Chris says:

Somewhat related–WTF is Ann Coulter doing, other than saying ignorant things for attention (as always?)

Ann Coulter Calls Asian-American People “Mandarins”–and Insists She’s Correct

    • Libby says:

Mr. Marshall could have written his piece the day that woman went to press.

    • Tina says:

“Coulter used the term…’Mandarin Chinese” for Trump supporters with signs for Trump written in Mandarin.

      Yes, positively criminal, Chris.

Mandarin 1. (in the Chinese Empire) a member of any of the nine ranks of public officials, each distinguished by a particular kind of button worn on the cap.
      2. (initial capital letter) the standard Chinese language.
      3. (initial capital letter) a northern Chinese dialect, especially as spoken in and around Beijing.

So, do we give a hoot about what silly PC brown shirt thought police students or media types think, or are we interested in information about people of a particular heritage who are also carrying signs that show they support Trump?

I’m inclined to be more interested in the fact that these Chinese people support Trump and have chosen to say so in Mandarin

      Where’s the respect?

      • Chris says:

        Not criminal, Tina, just clueless.

Note that none of the definitions of Mandarin you cited matches Coulter’s usage of the word. Which would be fine, if she were willing to admit she was wrong. Instead she screeched, “Don’t police my language!”

Why is it interesting that some individual Chinese people support Trump?

    A few comments on leadership.

The WWII generation had a saying—“There are no bad units, only bad officers.”

    1. When you’re the CO, and your unit FUBAR’s the mission, you need to own it. Even if your people step up and tell you “Geeze boss, I’m sorry. I screwed up”, you need to reply “It’s not your fault. It’s mine” Learn from the mistakes, but own them.

    2. The biggest threat to unit performance is what you tolerate, because that will become the norm.

  5. Tina says:

    Excellent, RHT447!

The sixties radicals run the Democrat Party, now. Extreme radicals and agitators themselves, they not only tolerate this stuff, they fund and promote it. They’ve been plowing this ground for fifty years and now they try to blame Trump? Pass the buck. So typical. People of the collective can always pass the buck.

If words caused people to intimidate, assault, and agitate others the left would be hiding in caves. They’ve called us racists, bigots, homophobic, and every brand of stupid you can name with very little physical push back. As individuals we on the right value free speech and the right to assemble peacefully.

Just cause we’re tolerant and patient doesn’t mean we’ll suffer this indefinitely. Nobody should.

    • Libby says:

I’ll tell you what’s typical. That, even now, you can’t admit who it is that’s set you up.

      Sixties radicals?! Jesus H !

You know who’s suckered you into acting against your own interests for 50 years … but that partisan gene will not apparently, permit you to face it.

  6. Libby says:

“The biggest threat to unit performance is what you tolerate, because that will become the norm.”

This also applies to American citizens who, theoretically, lead their democracy. You really gonna tolerate that megalomaniacal gasbag?

  7. Tina says:

Why not? We’ve had to tolerate that skinny bloviating narcissist pretender for eight years.

    • Chris says:

What does “skinny” have to do with anything? Is this a dogwhistle thing?

    • Libby says:

      Pretender?

Oh, geez, that birther idiocy, still?

And you know what else? If this is really why you want to put Trump in office: vengeance, on your fellow citizens, on the world (not to mention on yourselves), well, somebody who wanted to do that I would have to characterize as a very poor citizen, and a sad human being.

  8. Tina says:

    skinny – accurate description

bloviating – nothing he says is real; everything is scripted spin

narcissist – Another I, me, my, man…always tooting his accomplishment horn even when he should be hanging his head in disgrace (Or at least admitting mistakes as was demanded of Bush)

pretender – a guy in the presidential suit who doesn’t get the job done (Libby your fantasies are predictablly ridiculous)

    • Chris says:

So…again, you’re describing Trump, except he is isn’t skinny, which doesn’t matter. The only other difference is that what he says isn’t scripted; it’s off the cuff, and often incoherent. And this is preferable to you?

Grow up. Learn the difference between serious people you disagree with and unserious people. You have Obama Derangement Syndrome and Clinton Derangement Syndrome; that’s the only explanation for your support of Trump.

  9. Tina says:

    So no…I was describing Obama.

“Grow up. Learn the difference between serious people you disagree with and unserious people.”

Your so-called serious people are seriously, deeply flawed AND their policies and ideal are seriously flawed.

Trump doesn’t play the PC game. Too bad. That doesn’t mean he isn’t seriously concerned with the state of our nation…a condition brought to us by your “serious” people. It doesn’t mean he isn’t serious about getting America back on her feet, putting people back to work and creating a robust economy for the sake of the entire world!

    Buzz off!

    • Chris says:

“Trump doesn’t play the PC game.”

This is merely a politically correct way to say he lacks the manners, ethics and decency God gave a two year old.

And no, Trump doesn’t care about a single thing but his own ego and power. How is that not clear to you?
