Liberal Lunacy #1: Alaska Transgender Track Star Upsets Female Track

It’s not just about bathrooms, folks…nope, it’s about Title IX:

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

Now that the government has decided transgenders must be allowed to use whatever bathroom they choose, under Title IX they can participate in whatever sport they choose. In Alaska girls involved in track are crying foul. Insider, FOX News has the details in a story titled, “‘It’s Not Fair’: Transgender Student’s Success in Girls Track Causes Backlash”:

An Alaska transgender student’s success against female runners – including capturing all-state honors – is causing a backlash among parents and her rivals.

Haines High School senior Nattaphon Wangyot, who was born male and identifies as female, took fifth place in the Alaska high school girls 100-meter finals and third place in the 200-meter race on May 27.

“I’m glad that this person is comfortable with who they are and they’re able to be happy in who they are, but I don’t think it’s competitively completely 100-percent fair,” Hutchison High School senior Saskia Harrison told a local news station.

“I don’t know what’s politically correct to say, but in my opinion, your gender is what you’re born with,” Peyton Young, a junior from Eagle River High School who won the 3,200-meter race, told the Alaska Dispatch News. “It’s the DNA. Genetically a guy has more muscle mass than a girl, and if he’s racing against a girl, he may have an advantage.”

Stephanie Leigh Golmon Williams, a mother, said Wangyot’s participation was “not fair and it is not right for our female athletes.”

“We have a responsibility to protect our girls that have worked really hard, that are working towards college scholarships,” she said.

Young people are tolerant in the extreme. These girls don’t want to be put in the uncomfortable position of being labeled a bigot or trans-phobic but they don’t want to be forced to compete males.

The inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is being compromised and blunted for individuals by special interest demands for accommodation and it’s all being done under a superficial, misleading plea for “equality.” The longer grievance politics goes on the more individual freedom and opportunity is marginalized.

America was built on the notion that any person could take their talents and energy and with determination become anything they wanted to be and achieve anything they wanted to achieve. This ideal was understood as a context. Of course we can’t all be the champion, the most successful businessman, the highest paid sports or movie star, but, through our efforts we can succeed, and thrive, and achieve. This is the America that I love. It is the America I want to re-establish and preserve. It is the America that became the envy of the world.

We will never see the America where dreams can come true again as long as our people continue to stand behind the socialist, divisive, special interest agenda. Human beings aren’t defined by the color of their sin, the religious group they belong to, the gender they are or the one they believe they are, or the number of redistribution policies they can force on their fellow Americans. Human beings are defined by the way they lead their lives as individuals.

America, once again, it’s a Time for Choosing. Listen up! Make an individual choice for true liberty and the restoration of opportunity for all:

This is the issue of this election: Whether we believe in our capacity for self-government or whether we abandon the American revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capitol can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.

    Although we all put our pants on the same way – one leg at a time – Mother Nature made us different for a reason. And no matter how many edicts from the white house or the Dept of Jerks is gonna change that.
    Just wait ’till the Olympics when Russia has “trans-gender” men competing against the women . . . .

      They already have. Doping by female athletes is every bit as bad as the boys (well, maybe not that bad, yet). Lordy, compare photos of the Williams sisters from early on and now. Your jaw will drop.

      As to the Alaska situation … fifth and third? The Alaskans need to get a grip, take a pill, and not allow themselves to be exploited by rabid right wing media.

    Alakans are being exploited by a rabid right wing??? Hardly

    I assume that by “transgender” that the person abusing women’s sports has had his male genitals removed. Alaskans should not allow themselves to be exploited by transgender freaks. The true women are being screwed by an extreme eunuch trying to pass himself off as a female.

    I side with the girl athletes’ complaint about fairness. Only true females should be allowed in female sports.

      I do have to admit that maybe the O-man’s directive in this instance was a bad idea. I mean, anybody could have predicted the hysteria. The man is just too damned reasonable for this society of ours.

      What an amazingly uninformative article, even by Breitbart’s standards.

      Is the person in question a “cross-dresser” or are they transgender? The two are not the same, but the article seems to conflate the two. Cross-dressing men do not identify as women, and civil rights regulations protecting transgenders would not apply to them.

      And did this person even try to enter a women’s restroom at any point? The article doesn’t say! All it says is this:

      A Texas BBQ restaurant has made their transgender bathroom policy abundantly clear — “No Men Allowed in Women’s Bathroom.” A cross-dressing cowboy truck driver has been stirring-up trouble in the Texas BBQ joint. The trucker likes to come in dressed in a skirt or hot pants and a blouse and six-inch stilettos.

      How was he “stirring trouble?” Was he trying to enter a women’s restroom? Was he harassing anyone? Or were people just uncomfortable with what he wore?

      The article continues:

      He said he placed the sign on the women’s restroom after female employees and other females who frequent the restaurant asked him to.

      “Everybody got together and said, we can’t have this guy going into the ladies’ restroom,” Sanford said. “I don’t care if he has on a dress or not.”

      Still no indication whether or not the person was actually trying to use the ladies’ room, or whether this was a pre-emptive action.

      The author then reveals stunning ignorance and anti-trans bias, writing:

      Sanford said the sign has nothing to do with President Obama’s new policy mandating that transgender students, or those who are identifying with a particular gender on a given day, use the restroom or shower facilities that they are more comfortable with. The sign has been on the door before “gender fluidity” became a big issue.

      But trans people are not people who “are identifying with a particular gender on a given day,” and claiming they are is a stunning display of ignorance.

      So, yeah. Even by Breitbart’s extremely low standards: terrible.

    Tell me Libby, how does this advance the rights of women in sports?

    How does it not undermine them?

    How is allowing male athletes to compete with women “reasonable?”
