Terror Concern: Obama “Temporarily” Halted Immigration from Iraq in 2011

Posted by Tina

The Federalist calls our attention to an order the President made in 2011 that temporarily halted refugee immigration from the Iraqi nation for six months, “even for many who had heroically helped U.S. forces as interpreters and intelligence assets” Quotes from the Federalist article:

Although the Obama administration currently refuses to temporarily pause its Syrian refugee resettlement program in the United States, the State Department in 2011 stopped processing Iraq refugee requests for six months after the Federal Bureau of Investigation uncovered evidence that several dozen terrorists from Iraq had infiltrated the United States via the refugee program.

What was it that Obama said about Trumps suggestion to temporarily halt Muslim refugee immigration? Oh yeah, “Slamming the door in the face of refugees would betray our deepest values. That’s not who we are. And it’s not what we’re going to do.”

Hypocrites and phonies! LIARS!

Do you not see the flaw in your equation?

She doesn’t. She can’t. It’s been explained plenty of times that while there is precedent for restricting immigration based on country, there is no basis for restricting immigration based on religion.

But the number of things that have been explained over and over, to no avail, is seemingly endless. These are people who are still saying “Why won’t Obama call it Islamic terrorism?” And even though I explain it to them every time, they still ask again five seconds later. Their minds are unable to process information they don’t want to hear. It’s sad.

7 out of 10 Americans now have an unfavorable opinion of Trump.

Clinton’s unfavorable rating, at 55%, is also historically high.

There is also to be considered the difference between our government prudently and expeditiously taking care of business and … some big fat blowhard on a soap box inflaming religious prejudice in his quest for power we must all hope he never gets.

For the usual gang of progressive nitwits who weld themselves to a single statement : Trump will not be able to restrict immigration based on religion, but he will be able to do it based on country.

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump continued Friday to define his proposal to ban Muslims from entering the country, saying he wants to study the issue of radical Islam and that he was “flexible” in his response.

“We have to do something and you’re not going to do something about until you know what the problem is. I’ve spoken to (former New York City mayor) Rudy Giuliani we’re going to put together a group. We’re going to look at the problem, we’re going to study the problem, it’s a temporary ban,” Trump said Friday on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends.” “I feel very strongly that we have to find out what the problem is. When you look at San Bernardino, when you look at Paris, when you look at all of these horrible, horrible acts of hatred, this is pure hatred. We have to find out and get to the bottom of the problem before we can solve it.”

Trump called in December “for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on” he said in a statement. But he revised his language Wednesday to Fox News Radio’s Brian Kilmeade, saying that his proposed ban was “just a suggestion” and “hasn’t been called for yet.”

But he argued Friday that he wasn’t changing his tone at all. [Time editorializing.]

“Look, anything I say right now — I’m not the president, everything is a suggestion. No matter what you say, it is a suggestion,” Trump said Friday on NBC’s “Today,” adding later, “No, I’m not softening my stance at all but I’m always flexible on issues.”

In the wake of the deadly shootings in Orlando, Fla., presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump again promised Monday to temporarily stop immigration and refugee resettlement from “areas of the world where there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, Europe or our allies” if elected.

Note how the headline contradicts what the article states and Trump’s actual remarks which focused on banning immigration from certain geo-political areas. Those progressive turds posing as journalists and editors at the Detroit Free Press really are a piece of work —

What Donald Trump actually said …

Inside every progressive trying to pose as a clever intellectual is a low-information, raving lunatic screaming to get out

You didn’t post this because you think it vindicates him, did you? Don’t you think it reads kinda pathetic?

The ELE is a first rate blusterer, but when it come to policy, actual workable concepts, the poor man can’t find his own ass with either hand.
