Congress Rushes to Pass New Gun Control Laws

by Jack

Legislators on both sides of the isles are practically tripping over themselves in a stampede to pass more worthless ”feel good” gun laws in the wake of the Muslim terror attack in Orlando, Fl.

But, step aside from the herd and think for a moment.  Tell me, how is it that in France, with all their restrictive gun laws, do terrorists routinely obtain and use the AK47 assault rifles against the disarmed population?

How could this be?  The AK47 is an illegal weapon – nobody in France can own one.  Did you hear that?  Nobody can own one… period.  Forget background checks, you can’t own this weapon.  Yet, it is the weapon of choice by terrorists.  And it is showing up quite frequently.  The French have disarmed their population and they still have gun violence!  But, lets say we could keep guns out of the country, what about improvised explosive devices made from common household products?

So, the old saying, “When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.” has never been more true than it is now in Europe.  However, guns are not the only way to kill (pressure cooker bomb).   But, this obsessive gun control laws are where we are headed, because liberals think the 2nd Amendment ought to be repealed and replaced with their gun laws.

Look at what this nutty law professor says about the 2nd Amendment:

“I teach the Constitution for a living. I revere the document when it is used to further social justice and make our country a more inclusive one. I admire the Founders for establishing a representative democracy that has survived for over two centuries.

But sometimes we just have to acknowledge that the Founders and the Constitution are wrong. This is one of those times. We need to say loud and clear: The Second Amendment must be repealed.”   June 13, 2016 (Cohen is an attorney and assistant law professor at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law).   This guy isn’t the only, we have many so called experts calling for your guns and they are indoctrinating your children!

Ironically, the President has virtually declared war on everything related to guns, gun owners, the NRA, etc., but he has yet to declare war on those doing the actual killing.  He won’t even say the two words ”Muslim terrorist” in the same sentence, yet Islamic terrorists have killed Americans be the thousands from 9/11 on and cost us billions of dollars.

We need a real plan of action – Obama has none.   Obama has failed us for almost 8 years and now we are about to elect another dufus just like him, Hillary the liar Clinton.

We’re in deep trouble folks…deep, deep, trouble.

  1. Chris says:

Donald Trump today tweeted that he is meeting with the NRA to talk about making it illegal for people on the no fly list to buy guns.

Are you including him in your condemnation of those advocating for further gun laws?

“Ironically, the President has virtually declared war on everything related to guns, gun owners, the NRA, etc., but he has yet to declare war on those doing the actual killing.”

Mental. This is mental. We are at actual war with Muslim terrorists. You think a “virtual war” is more of a war than a real war. There is no reasoning with you.

“He won’t even say the two words ”Muslim terrorist” in the same sentence,”

And you know damn well why. You know damn well that Bush stopped using the same phrase for the same reasons. And I know damn well that you will never address that, nor will you rebut the national security experts who same calling them “Muslim terrorists” legitimizes them while refusing that term insults them; you will just keep repeating this ignorant sound bite over and over again, and your ignorant target audience will cheer and send you a virtual high five.

    It’s so tacky.

    • Pie Guevara says:

Bush was wrong, so is Obama, and so are some so-called national security “experts.” Calling Muslim Terrorists “Muslim Terrorists” neither legitimizes them nor does refusing to use that term insult them. Using it or not using it does not make a goddamn bit of difference as the attacks in Europe and no Orlando attest to. Idiot.

Hmmm, Trump may have a good idea here. If a person is considered to dangerous to fly or is on the terror watch list, it is reasonable to assume they are too dangerous to be allowed to purchase firearms.

“… you will just keep repeating this ignorant sound bite over and over again, and your ignorant target audience will cheer and send you a virtual high five. ”

F*** you. You are such a tacky jerk, Piss.

      • Chris says:

“Using it or not using it does not make a goddamn bit of difference as the attacks in Europe and no Orlando attest to. Idiot.”

So then if using it or not using it does not make a goddamn bit of difference, why are you not also calling Jack and Tina “idiots” for insisting that it is crucial we use the term?

Is it because you’re a giant hypocrite?

  2. Libby says:

“… but he has yet to declare war on those doing the actual killing.”

Those doing the actual killing are a 29-year-old security guard, and citizen of this country, who is already dead. Who are we supposed to declare war on?

That was rhetoric, but you ought to get the point. You beat your chest, tear your hair, and make wild florishes on the keyboard, but what are we supposed to do that isn’t already being done?

Here’s something to ponder. Why do you get so much more worked up over this than over our very own white boys shooting up theaters and elementary schools and college campuses? What’s that about?

    • Post Scripts says:

Libby is it possible for you to mock my intentions any worse? I think not. You try to reduce this constant threat of homicidal rage by Muslims on Americans to the simplest of equations, paraphrasing….”Oh, (tee hee) it was just one guy and he’s dead, who are we supposed to declare war on?”

How utterly ridiculous and foolish for you to pose it that way. Why should I even bother to reply to such silliness?

You know its not about one guy. And you know Obama is always going after the wrong people, namely US gun owners. He seems far more concerned about them or cops, than he is about actual threats from Islamic terrorists. I’ve yet to hear him be as tough on Muslim terrorists, two words he wont say. Oh, wait, you didn’t say Muslim terrorists either did you? No, but you did say he was a 29 security guard! You did say he was a citizen of this country! Oh very nice details Libby, good to know, but you conveniently left out the part where he was a radical Muslim from immigrant Muslim parents. That he had been self-radicalized on the internet by following the teachings of the Imam Anwar Al Alaki, also a Muslim – also a US citizen, and now also dead! And you forgot to mention how he called 911 and said he was pledging his allegiance to ISIS!

Funny how could insert so much detail about the shooter in Florida up to a point and then omit all the uncomfortable, but pertinent details? It just shows your true colors Libby. We got your number. I more than clear, you have no interest whatsoever of lifting a finger to protect your country from Muslim extremism and terrorism.

You would rather kibitz and mock those who do see the danger and who desperately want to do something to save this country. What a shame and what an awful statement about yourself. But, its a free country, for now, so why not enjoy it while you can. If the Muslim extremists had their way you would already be dead.

      • Libby says:

Jack, You just wasted five paragraphs. We cant go forward with this until you answer my question. What are we supposed to do that isn’t already being done?

I’m very happy with our efforts to date. We ARE persecuting the fundamentalists with our special forces and our drones. We ARE NOT engaged in a proxy war with Russia over Syria. We are, in fact, very busy. You just won’t see it.

And, for the hundred and twelve millionth time, nobody is going to take … the guns you already have. But this AR, high capacity shit. I think we may be gonna put a stop to that. Anybody who needs that kind of fire power to get his deer is no hunter. You clowns can get yourselves some VR goggles, and get your rocks off virtually.

      • Chris says:

Jack: “He seems far more concerned about them or cops, than he is about actual threats from Islamic terrorists. I’ve yet to hear him be as tough on Muslim terrorists, two words he wont say.”

Yes, the numbers of gun owners and police officers Obama has had killed via drone strike are truly astounding.

But go ahead and keep up this obsession with words.

    • Tina says:

“Those doing the actual killing are a 29-year-old security guard, and citizen of this country, who is already dead. Who are we supposed to declare war on?”

How many months now have we been hearing about loan wolf jihadists being the next front in the war?

So this “citizen,” whose name came up twice as a person of interest, was taken off the watch list. A citizen who wouldn’t have been taken off the list if this administration hadn’t shred intelligence information had been more diligent about connecting the dots. That information would have connected him to Imam Anwar Al Alaki, the same radical voice that recruited the San Bernardino terrorist. This guy was a citizen of Muslim heritage, within the target age group, who worked in security and, I would hope, had to pass security clearance. Where was the ball dropped on this guy…and why? And if this government knows it’s facing radicalized lone wolf attackers why aren’t the Mosques being quietly surveilled…connect the dots, connect the dots…remember? One of these guys is going to end up with a chemical bomb or worse. Do you trust this administration gives a fig? I don’t. They will do as they have always done…blame someone or something else…the right wing, gun owners, the sun was in their eyes, the dog ate their homework….

100+ people in Orlando would be better off today IF this administration had endeavored in this war to get this loan wolf before he attacked the gay bar in Orlando. Some of those (brown) people would be alive today if the president didn’t constantly signal that reporting suspicious activity or noticing radical speech from a Muslim neighbor or colleague will target you as a racist, Islamophobe.

The president wages war stupidly; the evidence is splattered, scattered and shattered all over the world.

  3. Libby says:

Oh, and churches. I forgot churches.

  4. dewster says:

So please be clear your position is people on the terrorist list should be able to buy AK? AR’s?

Now I heard they are trying to make it so they have to go to court for someone on the list to be banned since the lists need to be addressed.

So given we make sure The person on the list is vetted as an actual threat you are saying they should be able to buy assault weapons?

Crazy RW White men have committed most mass murder here in the US.

And about Orlando…… I am not buying this crap from FBI

Omar worked for Q4s one of the most controversial International security companies. Coworkers reported him to FBI. He may have been Bipolar. His wife knew he wanted to do attack.

Yet the FBI had no profile on him that alarmed them? YEA RIGHT BS

    • Tina says:

“Crazy RW White men have committed most mass murder here in the US.”

White, probably, since America has been mostly white for most of its existence…thats like saying mostly brown people have committed mass murders in Mexico.

Crazy, yes. (But see American Thinker below)

      Right-wing, wrong.

The American Thinker sheds some light on the matter. We used to remove the crazy people from the community, caring for them where they couldn’t harm people or themselves. Also, most murders that occur in the US occur in bastions of left-wing leadership and are gun free zones:

It’s not easy to obtain legal control over mentally-disturbed individuals or to force them to accept treatment. Liberals like to claim that this is a legacy of Ronald Reagan, who “defunded the mental health establishment.” This is an attack that mixes ignorance with ideology. In truth, the deinstitutionalization of the mentally ill was formalized in 1966 by Judge David L. Bazelon, who in a Solomonic daze discovered that the mentally ill retain all their rights despite their condition and cannot be coerced even to protect the public, which means that for all practical purposes the insane have more rights than healthy, sane individuals.

In two court cases, Bazelon (The name sounds familiar because his granddaughter Emily is a journalist specializing in legal and judicial topics for Slate, HuffPo and similar publications.) ruled that the insane could not be incarcerated against their will (Lake v. Cameron) or forced to accept any particular type of treatment (Rouse v. Cameron). This is why so many of the derelict insane are rambling homeless around urban areas rather than being under some form of care. Deprived of the alternative of incarceration, many communities allow the insane to continue acting out until blood flows. Jared Loughner, notorious in Tucson for his demented stunts, James Holmes, whose psychiatrist actually reported him to police, and Cho Seung-hui, who frightened nearly everyone he encountered at Virginia Tech, might have been safely locked away if not for Judge Bazelon’s humanitarian impulses. (Bazelon was still boasting about his achievement in his memoir Questioning Authority, published in 1988, long after the horror of his decisions had become apparent.)

The same may well be true of Aaron Alexis. According to Charles Krauthammer, a trained psychiatrist, Alexis displayed every sign of schizophrenia. Following a confrontation at the Birmingham airport, Alexis called police to report that the people involved — a vacationing black family — had followed him to Hartford, Connecticut and were beaming microwaves at him from the adjoining suite. Shortly thereafter he was booted from Virginia naval housing following claims of laughter tormenting him from his linen closet.

The Bazelon touch is clearly visible here. Despite what was by all indications quite a loud confrontation, the Birmingham TSA did nothing. The Hartford police, presented with the classic symptoms of a psychotic breakdown, simply allowed Alexis to stumble off pursued by microwaves. It never occurred to Navy personnel in Virginia to notify Navy personnel in Washington that their new hire was as crazy as a rat in a can. The authorities were offered three chances to step in. As at Pinal College in Tucson, the University of Colorado, and Virginia Tech, they failed each time. But we got to get them AR-15s off the streets.

We could go on with this as long as we liked. It’s often pointed out that without the top four American cities for homicide — Washington, Chicago (newly crowned murder capital of the USA), Detroit, and New Orleans, the U.S. would have one of the lowest murder rates in the industrialized world. All these cities suffer from the liberal curse (while not a “liberal” city in the classic sense, New Orleans has been a Democratic stronghold since the late Devonian period, which is practically the same thing). As I demonstrated in my book Death by Liberalism, liberal “judicial reform” triggered the “Great Crime Explosion” of 1964-1994, with a death toll in the hundreds of thousands. The current plague of insane gunmen is simply a back eddy of that colossal act of hubris.

Clearly, liberalism is far more deeply implicated in the problem of gun crime, including mass shootings, than anyone is willing to admit. There’s no point in sitting around grumbling about this — it’s all of piece with the liberal culture of denial inculcated since preschool.

Now if you want to go world wide to look for causes of mass murder, you might consider Atheism/Communism:

Concerning atheism and mass murder, Christian apologist Gregory Koukl wrote that “the assertion is that religion has caused most of the killing and bloodshed in the world. There are people who make accusations and assertions that are empirically false. This is one of them.”[1] Koukl details the number of people killed in various events involving theism and compares them to the much higher tens of millions of people killed under atheistic communist regimes, in which militant atheism served as the official doctrine of the state.[1] See also: Atheism and communism

Communist regimes killed 60 million in the 20th century through genocide, according to Le Monde, more than 100 million people[2] according to The Black Book of Communism (Courtois, Stéphane, et al., 1997).[3] and according to Cleon Skousen[4] in his best-selling book The Naked Communist.[5]

It is estimated that in the past 100 years, governments under the banner of atheistic communism have caused the death of somewhere between 40,472,000 to 259,432,000 human lives.[6] Dr. R. J. Rummel, professor emeritus of political science at the University of Hawaii, is the scholar who first coined the term democide (death by government). Dr. R. J. Rummel’s mid estimate regarding the loss of life due to communism is that communism caused the death of approximately 110,286,000 people between 1917 and 1987.[7]

      More here.

Now don’t you feel a bit silly.

  5. dewster says:

BTW someone watches too much fox news

    • Pie Guevara says:

BTW, some snotty, juvenile, smart ass jackass who frequents Post Script keeps making stupid, derisive remarks about Fox News and people who watch it.

There is a reason Fox News is the most watched news channel on cable. There is a reason its rating soar while everone else is in the dumper, Dupester.

      • Chris says:

Yes, the same reason Two and a Half Men was the most watched sitcom and there is going to be a fifth Transformers movie. The reason is not “quality.”

      • Dewster says:

There is a reason fox won a lawsuit saying they could lie cause it’s infotainment. There is a reason Laws were changed to allow a station owned by a foreign propaganda magazine mogul with with Saudi price as a 10% shareholder is allowed on US TV.

Being the most watched makes it true? LOL Even Bilbo has been busted for his stupid lies about his career!

Bill Clinton holds some responsibility for news being a propaganda machine.

By Law it is OK to Lie in the news it is no longer mandated to be for the public service. Clinton – telecommunications act
        READ IT!

Clinton is a Republican who also did NAFTA, signed into law the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which repealed some of the provisions of the Glass-Steagall Act.

Know your facts. Know your history.

Fox news is a well known propaganda source. CNN is the Clinton News Network. MSNBC is now the Comcast Network.

It is a fool who believes the MSM.

The real world is out there. Try it. All documented and easy to find.

Sorry pie but anyone can debunk Fox.

  6. Tina says:

I only have a minute so I won’t address what has been discussed so far at this time. But I have to address this because it tells us all we need to know about today’s so called intellectual Constitutional professors and what they have been teaching our citizens in college, quote:

“I teach the Constitution for a living. I revere the document when it is used to further social justice and make our country a more inclusive one. I admire the Founders for establishing a representative democracy that has survived for over two centuries. (emphasis mine)

He doesn’t revere the document when it is used to protect individual rights, especially the one right we were given to protect us from tyrants or for self defense?

The left has no grounding in the notion of individual liberty…only special groups have rights and then only if they are in the right group…that’s social justice. Some pigs are more equal than others…fool

One or two armed and trained people in that club could have taken out the terrorist before he did so damn much damage…a man whose name should have been on a terror watch list, except that this administration ordered the information shredded, would have been stopped! A Marine did manage to help a few people escape…but he was unarmed. What a pity.

    • Libby says:

We don’t think this through. Armed, inebriated twenty-somethings?

      Bad idea.

Besides, there was armed security at the club. It’s my understanding that he confronted but did not shoot Omar, drove Omar back into the club, and initiated the two hour hostage stand-off.

Armed everybody will solve everything, my butt.

      • Post Scripts says:

Think you got the story wrong Libby, but its early and your version may be right, but I’ve read other versions that were completely different. Arming everybody is NOT what has been suggested. However, if there had been a couple of people carrying guns who were trained how to use them, its quite possible the carnage would have been much less. A point you’ll never admit. It might also have been much less if the people reacted with a hail of glasses, bottles, chairs, tables and rushed the shooter. Laying on the floor pretending to be dead wound up being exactly the wrong thing to do. Right after the Paris shootings experts all over warned people, do something, don’t just try to hide under a table or play dead – do something! So your butt is safe this time Libby, we’re not looking to arm everybody.

        • Libby says:

And we’re never going to get the straight story now, which is annoying. You coppers cover each other’s butts to a degree damaging to the state.

You are also having an unrealistic assessment of human nature. Once he had stopped shooting, I expect his hostages were very, very anxious that he not start again. As long as he didn’t, the stand off would hold.

P.S.: His hostages were supposed to rip the toilets off the floor and toss them?

    • Dewster says:

Tina have you even realized it is probable the Armed Police actually probably took out a few people. Do you watch? They all had a shoot out this was not a surgical extraction. I suggest the Orlando police could have done better but will refrain as this is Florida they will never tell us the facts.

So now we want some people we do not know to start shooting too? THINK

Last thing I want is some RW gun nutjob to add to the confusion. Unless you have an Ar-15 to start you are no help. Then we have 2 people with AR-15’s in a shooting spree in a club and more people live?

      THINK

  7. Chris says:

Tina: “…a man whose name should have been on a terror watch list, except that this administration ordered the information shredded, would have been stopped!”

Why do you keep telling this lie?

As I explained to you, people on the terror watch list can legally buy guns.

Do you believe we need a new gun law to stop people on the terror watch list from buying guns?

    • Chris says:

Also, where is your proof that Obama “ordered the information shredded?”

    • Tina says:

I think it’s insane that people on the terror watch list wouldn’t be flagged and cross referenced with other gathered information to at least alert the authorities that someone might be plotting an attack…don’t YOU!

      • Chris says:

That did not answer my question.

      • Dewster says:

OMG all you do is Blame Obama … This is becoming scary if you believe this crap. Hate Obama gets votes, but why is that? The problem needs to be addressed. RACE

They race bait for votes and people actually believe this crap? No you know better and that is why you sidestep.

If you care about America than you will cut it out.

  8. Harold says:

“Nearly a year ago to the day, on June 15 of last year, the deranged Dylan Roof entered Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston South Carolina, opened fire and killed 9 people, all of them black Americans. Not fifty. Nine.

Shortly after that tragic massacre, photos began surfacing on the internet of Roof with a Confederate flag. Once those pictures began circulating, the left in America lost its collective mind. People began defacing statutes and other historic monuments, in the face of relentless pressure some such monuments -pieces that speak to the actual history of our nation- were taken down.

The government of the state of South Carolina likewise succumbed to pressure, removed the Confederate flag and ceased flying it over the capital building as did multiple cities across the south. Confederate flags were pulled off store shelves and internet e-tail sites and if you were unlucky enough to be spotted with a sticker of that red flag on the bumper of your car, you were likely to be verbally assaulted, called all sorts of ugly names, and quite possibly worse.

Now in the wake of a 50-person slaughtering at the hands of a jihad-bent Islamic maniac, will the left in America begin calling for mosques to be torn down? If the government does not begin the process of their removal will they begin defacing them, spray-painting the sides, tearing them down or doing as much damage to them via their own devices as possible? Will there be protests in which noted politically left groups and individuals burn the black ISIS flag or the flag of Afghanistan (the national origin of the shooter’s parents.) Will there be any protests at all?

Or, instead of the protests and outrage that Mr. Roof’s atrocity solicited, will there be calls for understanding, will these same people who were so incensed at the shooting of nine perfectly innocent people excuse away this senseless loss of life and call for us not to judge all by the actions of one?”

However, it is more convenient for the anti gun people to place blame on a tool verse the fool. Those fools will attempt to achieve their terrorist ways on our soil, using whatever means available, remember there where no guns involved in 9-11, but air planes still fly, case cutters are still sold, but that serves no purpose for Liberal gun haters , they hate guns and they feel we all should, well responsible gun owners think they are entitled to our freedom of ownership, be it for personal defense or sport, no matter the type, style or color, guns by themselves are not the problem.
but that matters not to liberals, it do as they say, freedom of choice is not relevant to their thinking, just more Governmental control.

And Yes , just one qualified gun owner inside the club could have prevented so many of the deaths this jihadist Isis follower caused.

    • Chris says:

Harold, that’s a ridiculous comparison. The Confederacy existed for the primary purpose of advancing slavery and keeping white supremacy. The states were very clear on that in their declarations of secession. There are almost no “Confederates” today. Islam is one of the world’s three largest religions, still followed by over a billion people. You can’t compare mosques to Confederate flags; it doesn’t make any sense.

      • Libby says:

I’m tellin’ ya, these people are seriously cracking up.

Harold, no more posting about mosque burning … unless you want to give your local field agent a little something to do, for a change.

        • Harold says:

To Chris, no its a fair assessment of Obamas and Liberal policy. One sided irony, but a fair comparison never the less .

As to Libby, To close to home for you. it was stated
‘Will the Left’, which are your people, nanny Government control types, react as knee jerk about Mosques as they did with the Confederate flags.

I doubt it, there was no reason for the flag to be blamed or to be removed from buildings any more than the need to react to a Mosque in a negative manner.

And while we’re at it, you need to stop the hateful message about burning things down, because it is you who said burn them, yes YOU!.. my post only made a reference to the difference in current political practice of how the Liberal Left uses tragedies.

However I do believe your “burn” comment does reflect your hidden desire to impeach another’ posts with misdirection and falsehoods. You might be careful, it could be construed as your coded message by those field agents, a sick message that you are putting out, Like Jack mentions in another post, it only takes one crazy to pick up on a comment.

Sadly, the Left never seems to let a tragedy go to waste politically. Attack anything the left does not like, those are your methods .

My post is all about symbolism and making a tragedy work for the lefts hatred of anything they disagree with.
You know it, you practice it, and readers see through it.

The Confederate flag had no more a physical involvement in the 9 murdered at the church than a Mosque has to do with the 49 in Orlando, unless you Liberals spin it that way.

You can be a such a negative person,

All 3 of you lib’s that post here of late just chant the same mantra, “if we respect them they will respect us as well”
Well stop using your head for more than just a Hat rack. The junior league as Obama called them have declared war on the western culture, he does not seem to grasp it, and I doubt you will either.

    • Dewster says:

      OMG

The confederate Flag had many varieties 3 or 4 I think. The chosen flag was a sign of treason in the name of slavery.

Why does no one here just say it. RACE is a problem.

Comparing a mosque to the real reason people hang on to the treason flag is INSANITY

Just say it….. stop trying to justify

Those flags were celebrating Treason in the name of slavery. PERIOD

  9. Chris says:

20 replies and still Jack and Tina have not answered my question in comment 1.

    I’ll try again:

Donald Trump tweeted that he is meeting with the NRA to talk about making it illegal for people on the no fly list to buy guns.

Are you including him in your condemnation of those advocating for further gun laws?

    • Tina says:

Donald Trump tweeted he is meeting to talk.

Arguably all that we have a this point is a bunch of talk.

      What is the big deal?

      • Chris says:

I am 100% certain it would be a “big deal” to you if any liberal politician had tweeted the exact same thing.

Do you believe we need a new gun law to stop people on the no fly list from buying guns, Tina? I asked you this previously, but you responded by changing the subject.

  10. Tina says:

Chris, the now retired intelligence guy who gathered the research and was told to shred it is the source of the information. You can choose not to believe him if you want. I think it’s consistent with the Obama policy to purge all references to Islam, Muslims, jihad and terrorism from the lexicon. Those words were removed from training manuals for all security and law enforcement in the US as well. We posted about that aspect of his policy early in his first term.

    • Chris says:

Tina: “I think it’s consistent with the Obama policy to purge all references to Islam, Muslims, jihad and terrorism from the lexicon.”

Why do you tell such ridiculous lies?

Obama has never purged the word “terrorism” from the lexicon. You know it. I know it. Your readers know it. So why did you say this?

The other words are rarely used in connection with terrorism because they are part of the language of the enemy. ISIS uses these words to recruit and legitimize their murder and terror. It was decided under the Bush administration to move away from these words. Obama has taken that a step further, but that in no way lends credence to the claim that he had documents shredded which would point to threats from specific individuals.

I’m not talking about what is said to the public. I am talking about the terms that are not allowed in the lexicon when the FBI talks with Homeland Security or the CIA or your local sheriff. I’m talking about training manuals for new recruits or transfers, people who work in the security divisions.

    Breitbart:

Robert Spencer, the author of 13 books including two New York Times bestsellers, The Truth About Muhammad and The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades), sat down with Breitbart Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon and discussed his new book, The Arab Winter Comes to America. Spencer insists that this “whitewashing” of materials has made continuing acts of terrorism more and more feasible in America.

Spencer at one time gave training seminars to counterterrorists and roomfuls of special agents on the tenets of basic Islam. He would take them through the Koran and the life of Mohammed “so that they would understand the motives and goals of those who want to destroy us.” Spencer reasoned, “It’s hard to defeat an enemy if you don’t know who they are.”

His instruction all came to an end in October 2011 when fifty-seven Muslin organizations wrote to John Brennan, who was then the Homeland Security Advisor and is now the head of the CIA, demanding that they fire Spencer and other trainers who “spoke about Islam in connection with terrorism” and that they cleanse all counter-terrorism training material of any mention of Islam and jihad. (emphasis mine)

Spencer explained that Brennan immediately complied and wrote back on White House stationary to underline how important the Obama administration considered this issue to be. The former trainer to the U.S. Army’s Asymmetric Warfare Group asserted that the Obama administration gave in to the pressure of Islamic advocacy groups because they did not want to be considered “Islamaphobic.”

Moreover, Spencer recounted that John Brennan “has made numerous statements of being very sympathetic to Islam and jihad.” The author further pointed out that what is most troubling is that the intel from Russian officials about the Tsarnaev Boston Marathon bombers came to us at the time the administration was scrubbing Islam and jihad from all training documents.

Spencer posits that it is very possible recruits were not being trained properly and that the bombing may have been avoided. He further asserted that the Obama administration was hell bent on making sure that there was no “high profile jihadist” on the horizon and may have ignored the intelligence reports.

    Counter Jihad Report:

Tonight’s episode of For The Record investigates a series of policies established by the Obama Administration during 2011-2012 that effectively neutered FBI counter-terrorism training and blinded our nation’s intelligence agencies to the threat from Islamic terrorism.

In what some experts have termed a hostile “political warfare campaign” driven by an alliance between the administration, Islamic organizations and cooperating media figures, analysts and subject matter experts were blacklisted, and books and training materials were purged from official counter-terrorism training programs government-wide.

This “purge” has contributed to clues being missed by the FBI in major terrorism cases, including last year’s bombing of the Boston Marathon recounted this past September in an episode of For The Record: (see video)

One of the first indicators of these efforts was the cancellation of an anti-terrorism conference scheduled for August 10-12, 2011 hosted by the CIA’s Threat Management Unit.

As reported by veteran Pentagon reporter Bill Gertz at the Washington Times, the conference was cancelled at the demand of Islamic groups who objected to presentations that were to be conducted by former Joint Chiefs of Staff intelligence analyst and international law expert Stephen Coughlin (who is featured in tonight’s episode) and Steve Emerson of The Investigative Project on Terrorism. An email sent to conference registrants explained that the Department of Homeland Security would be formulating new guidelines for vetting speakers and screening presentation content.

The cancellation of the CIA terrorism conference was followed in September 2011 by a series of articles by far-Left blogger Spencer Ackerman at WIRED Magazine that claimed counter-terrorism trainers and materials used by the FBI were promoting “Islamophobia.” One of Ackerman’s targets was books in the library at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, that he deemed offensive. It should be noted that as a general rule banning books in government-funded libraries is considered rank censorship.

While a number of claims made by Ackerman in his series of articles were later found to be manifestly false, inside U.S. government agencies individuals targeted by Ackerman’s articles were prohibited from speaking publicly in defense of themselves and their work and “The Purge” continued apace.

    Black October

Then in October 2011, a remarkable series of events dramatically shifted U.S. government policies largely fueled by Ackerman’s reporting.

The first event was the circulation by Homeland Security’s Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties to government agencies of a list of “Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Training Do’s and Don’ts.” Among those targeted in the DHS training ban were what the document called “self-professed ‘Muslim reformers,’” who the agency warned “may further an interest group agenda instead of delivering generally accepted, unbiased information.”

Among other “don’ts” declared by DHS was this warning:

Don’t use training that relies on fear or conspiracies to motivate law enforcement. Don’t use training premised on theories with little or no evidence to support them. Examples (from the report “Manufacturing the Muslim Menace”) of unsubstantiated theories include…Mainstream Muslim organizations are fronts for Islamic political organizations who true desire is to establish Sharia law in America.

Remarkably, some of the very organizations that the Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties had partnered with had been identified by the Justice Department as fronts for international terrorist organizations in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing trial in 2007 and 2008, including the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). At the time these guidelines were published, the president of ISNA, Imam Mohamed Majid, was serving on the DHS Countering Violent Extremism Working Group.

Not only had the Justice Department named these organizations as unindicted co-conspirators during the trial, but federal prosecutors had outline in court documents that these organizations were integral parts of an international conspiracy to funnel money to the terrorist group HAMAS. In one Justice Department filing, prosecutors noted that “numerous exhibits were entered into evidence establishing both ISNA’s and NAIT’s intimate relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood, the Palestine Committee, and the defendants in this case.”

    In another filing they observed:

ISNA and NAIT, in fact, shared more with HLF than just a parent organization. They were intimately connected with the HLF and its assigned task of providing financing support to HAMAS. Shortly after HAMAS was founded in 1987, as an outgrowth of the Muslim Brotherhood, Govt. Exh. 21-61, the International Muslim Brotherhood ordered the Muslim Brotherhood chapters throughout the world to create Palestine Committees, whose job it was to support HAMAS with “media, money and men.” Govt. Exh. 3-15. The U.S. Muslim Brotherhood created the U.S. Palestine Committee, which documents reflect was initially comprised of three organizations: the OLF (HLF), the IAP [Islamic Association for Palestine], and the UASR [United Association for Studies and Research]. CAIR was later added to these organizations. Govt. Exh. 3-78 (listing IAP, HLF, UASR and CAIR as part of the Palestine Committee, and stating that there is “[n]o doubt America is the ideal location to train the necessary resources to support the Movement worldwide…”). The mandate of these organizations, per the International Muslim Brotherhood, was to support HAMAS, and the HLF’s particular role was to raise money to support HAMAS’ organization inside the Palestinian terrories. (p. 13, emphasis added)

During the Holy Land trial, FBI Agent Lara Burns testified in court that CAIR was a front for HAMAS. One trial exhibit submitted by federal prosecutors – and stipulated to by the defense in the case – explained that these organizations were dedicated to a “civilizational-jihadist process” to destroy America from within and replace the Constitution with sharia (Islamic law):

The Ikhwah [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions. (p. 21)

Federal prosecutors specifically cited this internal Muslim Brotherhood planning document as the strategic goal of these U.S.-based Islamic groups – the very same group advising the Obama Administration. The federal judge in the Holy Foundation case agreed with the case presented by the federal prosecutors had made regarding these organizations, stating in one ruling that “the Government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations with CAIR, ISNA and NAIT with HLF…and with HAMAS.” (p. 14-15)

One of the architects of the new DHS guidelines was Mohamed Elibiary, who served on the DHS Countering Violent Extremism Working Group, was appointed in October 2010 by Secretary Janet Napolitano to the Homeland Security Advisory Council and is now a senior fellow for the agency, who has publicly admitted to his role in developing the DHS guidelines. Unsurprisingly, he was a regular source for WIRED’s Spencer Ackerman.

    FrontPage Magazine:

It has been a long time coming, but the Obama Administration has now officially banned the truth. Deputy U.S. Attorney General James Cole declared Wednesday at a conference in Washington that he had “recently directed all components of the Department of Justice to re-evaluate their training efforts in a range of areas, from community outreach to national security.” This “reevaluation” will remove all references to Islam in connection with any examination of Islamic jihad terror activity. The Obama Administration has now placed off-limits any investigation of the beliefs, motives and goals of jihad terrorists.

Dwight C. Holton, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon, emphasized that training materials for the FBI would be purged of everything politically incorrect: “I want to be perfectly clear about this: training materials that portray Islam as a religion of violence or with a tendency towards violence are wrong, they are offensive, and they are contrary to everything that this president, this attorney general and Department of Justice stands for. They will not be tolerated.”

Holton said that he had spoken with Attorney General Eric Holder about FBI training materials that Holton claimed were “egregiously false,” and that Holder “is firmly committed to making sure that this is over….we’re going to fix it.” Holton said that this “fix” was particularly urgent because the rejected training materials “pose a significant threat to national security, because they play into the false narrative propagated by terrorists that the United States is at war with Islam.”

Cole suggested that these training materials had done damage domestically as well: “One of the many, tragic legacies of 9/11 has been an increase in prejudice, discrimination and hatred directed against persons of the Muslim and Sikh faiths and those who are, or who are mistakenly perceived to be, of Arab or South Asian descent. Some have wrongly sought to blame the horror of 9/11 on Arab-American, Muslim American, Sikh-American and South Asian American communities. It has led to attacks against places of worship and other hate crimes, to job discrimination, and to the tragic harassment of children in our schools.”

After sketching out this horror tale, Cole declared: “We must never allow our sorrow and anger at the senseless attack of 9/11 to blind us to the great gift of our diversity.” And this, he said, must involve a rejection of the stereotyping of Muslims: “All of us must reject any suggestion that every Muslim is a terrorist or that every terrorist is a Muslim. As we have seen time and again – from the Oklahoma City bombing to the recent attacks in Oslo, Norway – no religion or ethnicity has a monopoly on terror.” It was George Bush, he said, who after 9/11 “made clear to the nation that these terrorist acts were committed by individuals who distort the peaceful religion of Islam,” and now all government analysis of jihad terror would reflect that perspective.

Of course, the controversial training materials did not really claim that all Muslims are terrorists or that all terrorists are Muslims, and it is noteworthy that Cole had to resort to dismissive caricatures to make his point. For in taking this course, the Obama Administration is bowing to pressure from the Hamas-linked Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and other Islamic advocacy groups. In a Los Angeles Times op-ed that appeared on the same day as the conference in Washington, Salam al-Marayati of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) roundly criticized existing training materials about jihad terror and demanded that the FBI and the Justice Department “issue a clear and unequivocal apology to the Muslim American community; establish a thorough and transparent vetting process in selecting its trainers and materials; invite experts who have no animosity toward any religion to conduct training about any religious community to law enforcement.”

Al-Marayati complained that training materials reflected “bigoted and inflammatory views on Muslims, including claims that ‘devout’ Muslims are more prone toward violence, that Islam aims to ‘transform a country’s culture into 7th century Arabian ways,’ that Islamic charitable giving is a ‘funding mechanism for combat’ and that the prophet Muhammad was a ‘violent cult leader.’”

In this al-Marayati was simply repeating talking points from an “expose” of FBI training materials by hard-Left journalist Spencer Ackerman in Wired, who has been conducting a campaign for some time to get the bureau to purge its terrorism training seminars of any hint of the truth about the global jihad and Islamic supremacism. Yet like virtually all Leftist and Islamic supremacist critics of anti-jihad and anti-terror material, Ackerman and al-Marayati take for granted that such assertions are false, without bothering to explain how or why. Apparently they believe that their falsity is so self-evident as to require no demonstration; unfortunately, however, there is considerable evidence that they are true, and that in banning such materials, the Obama Administration has essentially banned the truth.

    Believe whatever you want Chris.

Yes, and the claim that the word “terrorism” has been removed from training manuals is a lie. There’s no way I’m going to read that whole wall of text, as I’m sure absolutely none of it supports this lie.

  12. Libby says:

So, I tracked down the work of the nefarious Mr. Ackerman. He is a pistol, and been sacked for it more than once. However, if you choose to look, the leaked training materials are available in the article. This is my favorite bit:

“Several of these briefings were the work of a single author: an FBI intelligence analyst named William Gawthrop. In 2006, before he joined the Bureau, he gave an interview to the website WorldNetDaily, and discussed some of the themes that made it into his briefings, years later. The Prophet “Muhammad’s mindset is a source for terrorism,” Gawthrop told the website, which would later distinguish itself as a leader of the “birther” movement, a conspiracy theory that denies President Obama’s American citizenship.

“At the time, Gawthrop’s major suggestion for waging the war on terrorism was to attack what he called “soft spots” in Islamic faith that might “induce a deteriorating cascade effect upon the target.” That is, to discredit Islam itself and cause Muslims to abandon their religion. “Critical vulnerabilities of the Koran, for example, are that it was uttered by a mortal,” he said. Alas, he lamented, he faced the bureaucratic obstacle of official Washington’s “political taboo of linking Islamic violence to the religion of Islam,” according to the website.”

“Back then, however, Gawthrop didn’t work for the FBI. He had recently stepped down from a position with the Defense Department’s Counterintelligence Field Activity. That agency came under withering criticism during the Bush administration for keeping a database about threats to military bases that included reports on peaceful antiwar protesters and dovish Church groups. It is unclear how Gawthrop came to work for the FBI.”

“Through an intermediary, Gawthrop told Danger Room that he was unavailable for comment before our deadline.”

    *****

The article is also fun in that it leaves one with the distinct impression that the upper realms of FBI bureaucracy had no idea this was going on and squelched it immediately upon exposure.

Successful counter-terrorism is a battle for hearts and minds you will not win by vilifying the prophet. So we’re not going to do it.

  13. Dewster says:

YOU CAN”T DECLARE WAR AGAINST an IDEOLOGY

Turn off the TV it is not doing you any favors

You know there was never any such thing as Al Queida right? All CIA created and that is the truth.

Why do you think John McCain is posing with terrorists in that picture?

  14. Dewster says:

    Tina THINK

The people who are dealing with the intel have a bit more qualifications to write and deal with the training manuals.
