8:30 PM UPDATE: Vocativ.com:

ISIS is celebrating the apparent terrorist attack in Nice, France, on Thursday as retaliation for the death of Abu Omar al-Shishani—the terror group’s so-called “minister of war”—who was killed earlier this year by coalition forces while fighting in Iraq.

More than 70 people were killed and dozens more were injured when a truck barreled through a large crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day, a French holiday commemorating the storming of the famous Parisian fortress in 1789, an important milestone in the French Revolution. The driver of the truck reportedly was killed by French authorities.

“Oh France, you and the all Europe will never be secure until we will live secure on every inch in the land of the Caliphate,” wrote one ISIS supporter whose Twitter account has since been suspended. “This is the beginning of the attack to take the holy revenge for the killing of Abu Omar Shishani, may Allah accept him,” a jihadi posted on the ISIS al-Minbar forum shortly after the attack

This news is just breaking out of Nice France:

A spokesman for France’s Interior Ministry says there are likely to be “several dozen dead” after the attack.

Pierre-Henry Brandet told BFM TV: “It’s going to be a very high toll.”

The president of the Nice regional council also gave a similar number.

Updates will follow…

    Islamic jihadists are celebrating.

  2. Pie Guevara says:

The US should officially declare war on ISIS and all Islamic terror, as well as NATO nations and Russia. Will it happen?

  3. Pie Guevara says:

Could there be a new Allied Forces?

  4. Pie Guevara says:

When we still had a presence in Iraq, between us and the Kurds, we had the boot heel on necks of Al Qaeda in Iraq. They had been defeated. Then Obama abandoned Iraq and ISIS emerged out of the ashes of Al Qaeda fueled by ISIS emerging in Syria.

We are seeing the results world wide. There has been no “containment” under Obama.

  5. Pie Guevara says:

Turkey has a massive army and has never done anything to seriously fight ISIS. In fact, until the Istanbul attacks, the Turkish border was a sieve for migration from Syria to Europe which included ISIS infiltration. That border with Syria is still a significant conduit for terrorism into Europe.

Would Turkey join an alliance against ISIS with real support? Ground troops?

Will Article 5 be actually be backed up in any significant way by countries in the NATO alliance?

    • Tina says:

Turkey wants into the EU. The EU is crashing under the weight of debt and the influx of refugees. It’s hard to say what will happen. If Hillary pulls this off with her big monied power people the whole world will go to he77 in fast order. She will try to be tough but the result will look like Benghazi. God help us.

Trump will listen to the generals and advisors. He is a good negotiator and won’t put up with disloyalty or shenanigans from allies. He will demand their help but he also has said the local people must do the fighting. I agree in principle. At least we will have someone who cares about results and doesn’t feel the need to socially engineer outcomes.

This last ditch effort by Obama to save face is pathetic. He’s running around telling us that we’re doing all we can but it’s difficult…no shot sheerluck!

Wonder if NOW the people of France will clamor for an attack on areas that are ISIS strongholds or training areas . . . .

And how long will it take ’till Black LIES Matter march to protest white trucks?

    • Libby says:

We are already attacking ISIS strongholds. This will not deter, it will in fact provoke any number of ISIS adherents. Suck it up.

And … what exactly do you mean by “white trucks”? … that plow through crowds of black people ???

You all is crackin’ up … no question.

      • Harold says:

Still just putting words of misdirection into others post’s are you.

Like the USA, France may be bombing areas in Syria, but little evidence of any real damage to ISIS or casualties to their leaders can be identified.

So you have a point France is just provoking them, what is needed to be done is putting enough boots on the ground type of intelligence to pin point those targets of leadership, to destroy them! But our feckless leader, who cant even say Muslim jihadist terrorist doesn’t want to start a war with them, even though they have called for war and death on every infidel not of their faiths beliefs.

Well you just hunker down in your sanctuary city of unknown killers and continue to play life’s real time lottery of life or death with every un-vetted migrant stranger you meet.

      • J. Soden says:

I expected something like this response from Leftie Lib.
We haven’t attacked anyone. We’ve sent a few drones out and took out some of the bad guys. What we HAVEN’T done is make a concerted effort in taking out ISIS’ command, training and control areas because our limp-wristed muslim sympathizer prez doesn’t want to “offend” muslims. He’s rather draw invisible red lines . . . .

Leveling Racca in Syria would be a good start.

        • Tina says:

He also doesn’t want to kill innocent people…

Too bad MR P., plenty of innocent people have died or been displaced because you have refused to seriously wage war on this political warring enemy. The enemy has grown stronger, has spread it’s tentacles across the globe, has taken over regions of four nations declaring a calliphate, and sees itself as the stronger horse under your weak leadership…huge recruiting tool!

          EPIC, EPIC FAIL!

      • Tina says:

Think outside that race box, you won’t think we’re “cracking up. I know it’s an impossible task for you but it’s the only road to enlightenment on this issue.

The left is seriously restrained by that box.
