Brazilian Group Pledges Allegiance to ISIS

Posted by Tina

The Olympics in Brazil is three weeks away. The Zica virus has already discouraged a few atheletes from attending the games. Now the Daily Mail reports that a group there has pledged their allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. France has already received threats of harm to it’s athletes at the games:

The plans were revealed by General Christophe Gomart, head of the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DRM), at a parliamentary commission in May investigating the attacks in Paris in January and November last year which left 147 people dead.

In the report on the planned Rio attack, Gomart told the commission that he had been informed of the plot – planned by a Brazilian national – ‘by our partners’.

No other details on the claims were made available by the French authorities.

This is a first for South America. Build that wall!

Not real thrilled about attending any event in a country that can’t construct a bike path without it falling into the sea or has boating events competing in sewage.

Countries attending Rio Olympics should bring their own medical teams, medical supplies, security and plenty of mosquito repellent. Recommend typhoid and cholera shots for individuals attending. This is NOT a safe zone!

    Yahoo News – Reuters:

Brazil arrested 10 people on Thursday suspected of belonging to a poorly organized group supporting Islamic State (IS) and discussing acts of terrorism during next month’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Justice Minister Alexandre Moraes said.

    Yahoo-Reuters:

Brazilian federal police are monitoring 100 people for possible links to terrorism groups, mostly in Brazil’s tri-border region with Paraguay and Argentina, a presidential palace source said on Thursday.

The source said the 10 arrests made on Thursday for preparing acts of terror during next month’s Olympics involved cooperation with U.S. and other foreign intelligence agencies.

The Russians are out, according to Fox news on KPAY, due to alleged wide spread doping. In the end they may the fortunate ones. The Olympics Committee says it still needs millions of dollars to get ready for games that start in 2 weeks.
