Barack Obama promised to fundamentally transform America when he ran for office in 2008. Everything he’s done reflects that intention. Greater federal control is a theme that runs through everything he’s done. Disregard for basic American process has also marked everything he’s done and that includes disregard of Congress once it was no longer under super majority Democrat control. It includes greater federal control over healthcare, banks, college loans, housing, the energy sector and local law enforcement.
Media hyped false accusations brought against local law enforcement and police officers in the the Trayvon Martin case and Ferguson follow this pattern of federal intervention and federal control. In both cases accusations about police officers turned out to be false. the entire reason for intervention was made up, and yet the (false) accusation lingers as a “truth” about American law enforcement. The purpose of these “interventions” is becoming quite evident, but first, let’s include the lone wolf terrorist, who’s local act requires local response.
The curious way this administration has operated in fighting terror is evident in the attacks in San Bernardino and Orlando. We learned in the days that followed these attacks that vetting of immigrants was sloppy in San Bernardino. We learned that “walls,” that have been reconstructed between security departments prevented full investigation. We watched as the administration avoided being honest about the attackers. In fact, we’ve seen this administration continuously make bigotry and Islamophobia the larger story when Islamic terrorists strike. Shaming America is an underlying theme. This is all done in “presidential” language, of course. Our president always speaks like a professor instructing his class. Fundamental transformation requires smooth talking deceptive words so as not to rattle the sensibilities of the populace.
The lone wolf attacker was brought into sharp focus with these attacks. They also brought increased federal control of local law enforcement into focus. Oh, you missed that part of the conversation? Not surprising. This administration, with the help of the media, does just about everything deceitfully, often in plain sight. they blow kisses as they stab us in the back.
In March of 2015 Barack Obama introduced his plan to take federal control of local law enforcement. The following includes information from a report, The President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing, as well as quotes from the President regarding the report:
“We have a great opportunity… to really transform how we think about community law enforcement relations. … We need to seize that opportunity… this is something that I’m going to stay very focused on in the months to come…I expect our friends in the media to really focus on what’s in this report and pay attention to it…I think communities [with police forces] across the board are going to need to consider… recommendations around prohibiting racial profiling [and] that’s a step that we’ve already taken at the federal level…We need more information to find out how to take to scale best practices when it comes to training so that police officers are able to work in a way that reduces the possibilities of bias…Our approach to our drug laws, for example, and criminalization of nonviolent offenses rather than taking more of a public health approach — that may be something that has an impact in eroding trust between law enforcement and communities…Law enforcement agencies should acknowledge the role of policing in past and present injustice and discrimination and how it is a hurdle to the promotion of community trust…The Federal Government, as well as state and local agencies, should encourage and incentivize higher education for law enforcement officers…Law enforcement agencies should engage community members in the training process…. [government] should ensure that basic recruit and in-service officer training include curriculum on the disease of addiction… Law enforcement agencies should implement training for officers that covers policies for interactions with the LGBTQ population, including issues such as determining gender identity for arrest placement, the Muslim, Arab, and South Asian communities, and immigrant or non-English speaking groups, as well as reinforcing policies for the prevention of sexual misconduct and harassment.
On July 27th United Nations Rapporteur Maina Kai, of the U.N. Human Rights Council, endorsed a little-known and yet highly controversial practice by our Justice Department to effect a federal takeover of local police and corrections departments:
The Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice has provided oversight and recommendations for improvement of police services in a number of cities with consent decrees. This is one of the most effective ways to reduce discrimination in law enforcement and it needs to be beefed up and increased to cover as many of the 18,000-plus local law enforcement jurisdictions.
According to a website called, Lifezette, this has already been implemented in “Newark, New Jersey; Miami, Florida; Los Angeles, California; Ferguson, Missouri; Chicago, Illinois; and other municipalities.” Lifezette explains the insidious way it works:
the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice files a lawsuit in federal court against a city, county, or state, alleging constitutional and civil rights violations by the police or at a corrections facility. It is done under 42 U.S.C. § 14141, a section of the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, granting the attorney general the power to prosecute law enforcement misconduct. The municipality then simply agrees to the judicial finding — without contest — and the result is a wide-reaching federal court order that imposes onerous regulations on local police.
The federal court orders are designed to undo Rudy Giuliani-style policing tactics that were effective at reducing crime in big cities in the 1990s and 2000s. (see chart)
America has been a beacon of freedom and civility for others around the globe. This administration has been about dimming that light. The fundamental transformation of America takes the form of upending local and individual control replaced by federal control and a loss of freedom and rights. A global radical elitist view is at the heart of this view. When the federal government can openly make false accusations against American citizens, police officers, local and state governments as a means of imposing manipulative and controlling practices our Constitutional rights and freedoms are being undermined. The fact that it’s all being done in a very “presidential” style should alarm us all. Instead we act like zombies and cheerleaders.
Hillary Clinton shares this globalist view of power being vested, not in the people as our Declaration of Independence and Constitution affirm resolutely, but in a few wealthy elitists. Watch closely. As we head toward November Donald Trump will be attacked often over carefully crafted incidents, hyped by the media. The Kahn story turned out to be a con. It fits the bigotry model of attack. It fits the make Americans ashamed model of attack. It fits in the fundamental transformation of America model that the Clintons and Obama fear will be washed away if they lose the election in November.
If you want this nation to be a nation of laws rather than men, if you want terrorists ought as enemy combatants rather than misunderstood criminals, if you want to retain freedom and rights for all Americans instead of the elites and their special interest groups you must vote for Trump in November. He is the only candidate that can win who will fight terrorism and crime with vigor and restore power to the people
This kind of garbage has been going on for years. Only the fact that there are OTHER than the alphabet networks controlled by those with a Left agenda where folks can get news is the only reason why there is still freedom in the US today.
It’s past time that the States grew some stones and stood up for their residents. The Foolish Fed bureaucrats need to learn the meaning of the word “No!” or even Hell No!
And that includes staying No! to the PC BS judges who have mistakenly ruled that requiring voter ID is somehow discriminatory. If that were the case, then banks, DMVs, hospitals, the post office, the VA, doctors, dentists, insurance companies and even the US passport office are practicing discrimination by asking for photo ID.
Well said Jay! ID is required to qualify for government benefits…at least it is if you were born here!
Several things bother me greatly about this.
1. The UN should have nothing to do with dictating how local police departments operate. America is a free nation supported by the rule of law. The UN is dominated by nations with horrible civil rights records and yet they are being granted power to dictate to us through progressive leaders who have no respect for the limits our Constitution places on their authority!
2. Our law enforcement officer’s shouldn’t be spending time in classes designed to help them apply the law according to groups.
3. The entire point of homeland security was cooperation and transparency between agencies of federal, state and local governments. It was not designed to give the president, or his justice department, power over local departments or to create barriers to transparency and cooperation.
4. Cops need to concentrate on crime. It’s not up to them to solve problems of dysfunction in the family and community or solve the terror problem by ignoring the obvious.
The thing that follows power being granted to the UN is taxation by the UN. door!
This body keeps pushing for a global tax mechanism. The latest is an email tax. Once that door is opened Kaity bar the door.
“If that were the case, then banks, DMVs, hospitals, the post office, the VA, doctors, dentists, insurance companies and even the US passport office ….”
What you quite willfully refuse to recognize is that there are many, many people in this country so poor that they make no use of any of these things … have no state issued ID … are nonetheless entitled to vote, and prevented by these laws enacted only after … and immediately after (very telling that) … the Roberts Court gutted the Voting Rights Act.
Sucks. Transparently sucks.
” are nonetheless entitled to vote, and prevented by these laws ”
That’s actually a lie, Libby. Our government sees to it that the poor have phones. A phone call to the local city hall offices would afford them the means to acquire the necessary ID.
These laws also include accommodations for such. Just as our governments bend over backwards for welfare and food stamps which technically require ID:
No state issues ID by phone. I am again moved to wonder what planet it is that you live on.
In California, on this planet, you have to have a copy of your birth certificate and $35. If you don’t have your birth certificate, you have to pay for that too.
Tina, you really don’t understand about poor at all, do you?
On a different note …
