In July of 2012 U.S. Census Bureau statistics showed a startling loss of America’s businesses. The number of firms with up to 99 employees dropped significantly by 223,800 businesses and 3.1 million workers.
Today the US ranks 12th among developed countries in entrepreneurial start-ups:
We are behind in starting new firms per capita, and this is our single most serious economic problem. Yet it seems like a secret. You never see it mentioned in the media, nor hear from a politician that, for the first time in 35 years, American business deaths now outnumber business births.
The U.S. Census Bureau reports that the total number of new business startups and business closures per year — the birth and death rates of American companies — have crossed for the first time since the measurement began. I am referring to employer businesses, those with one or more employees, the real engines of economic growth. Four hundred thousand new businesses are being born annually nationwide, while 470,000 per year are dying. …
… There are only 6 million businesses in the United States with one or more employees. Of those, 3.8 million have four or fewer employees — mom and pop shops owned by people who aren’t building a business as much as they are building a life. And God bless them all. That is what America is for. We need every single one of them.
Next, there are about a million companies with five to nine employees, 600,000 businesses with 10 to 19 employees, and 500,000 companies with 20 to 99 employees. There are 90,000 businesses with 100 to 499 employees. And there are just 18,000 with 500 employees or more, and that figure includes about a thousand companies with 10,000 employees or more. Altogether, that is America, Inc.
My company was in the 600,000 category of 10-19 employees. It has now dwindled to the mom and pop category with no signs of improvement on the horizon. So, in addition to the thousands of businesses that have closed in the last seven years (couldn’t find a total number) there are more companies like mine with far fewer employees and big concerns about the future.
No matter what President Obama says with an assuring smile, this is not an improving economy, you can’t even call it a good economy. We need a robust and growing economy. We need growth of 3-4%. Our President keeps assuring us that his policies are working. Hillary tries to tell us that taxing the rich will get the economy turned around. She can’t explain how other than the oft touted “roads and bridges plan, that won’t do a thing for factory workers, coal miners, energy producers, or the secretaries and office managers that are required with new and growing businesses.
America needs new leadership. Hillary is not our man.
By the way, Trump has an idea for roads and bridges that won’t cost the taxpayer a dime unless he volunteers it. This is a man who thinks outside the box. Just the sort we need to shake up Washington DC.
Nothing is for Free ever
We want taxpayer built roads. What we do not want is privatized privately owned roads where the company is traded on wall street for investor profit. Quarterly increases necessary for the market means endless toll raises for the profit of a few.
You really have no clue on the corporate coup do you?

Did Trump lay out his plan? NO… Trump has nothing in his hat but ways for the elite to further profit off tax dollars. We are a country that prints it’s own currency. A sham. The only thing that gives these pieces of paper value is tax collections.
We print pieces of paper to pay for endless profit wars. The deficit is the difference between taxes collected and paper printed. SO we must cut taxes for those who profit off this scam and raise them on those who are middle class. Class Warfare. Get a flipping clue.
One thing Ron Paul was correct about was the Fed scam put in by the worlds Central banking Monopoly who fund both sides of every war. They kill any president who tries to address this problem. Ya think the DNC railed and threatened Bernie for any other reason? No. You do not fight the Banks or you will die.
Hillary is no Better. She is bought and paid for by the banks as are all establishment politicians Dem or Rep. Majority of Bankers never go to jail here.

No one has suggested that.
We have federally built and maintained roads and bridges, state built and managed roads and bridges, county and city. The way they are normally funded is with fuel taxes (too high in CA) and bridge/road tolls or municipal bonds. There isn’t any reason that bond can’t be floated as far as I know for wealthy taxpayers and people who think they can afford it to buy federal and municipal bonds to get this done voluntarily. Did you know our tax system was originally set up to be voluntary?
Trump will be laying out his plan on Monday according to news reports.
You sure are against profits Dewey. Please name me an enterprise or job that doesn’t depend on profits.
Please tell me how, if the customers or citizens are pleased with the final product, profit is a bad thing. You don’t work for free do you? Do you expect others to work for free? I know lefties have a propensity for thinking people who work in the field of medicine should work for free…how can good medical care be delivered without profits? Explain please.

Banks facilitate transfers of money. Hitler rebuilt after WWI on funds loaned to his nation from the US and England. Instead of building single use factories he built factories that could easily be retrofitted as war making factories. Once he began his strategy to invade and purge, he funded the war by pillaging both from the Jews and from the people of the countries he took over and oppressed.

Dewey I don’t ignore anything. I post and wrote about things in the news. Trade has been in the news but nothing of significance has happened. Also I only have so much time to devote to this blog. I suggest you start your own blog devoted to trade deals and how they affect jobs.

Hillary has proven through the corporatism and deals with foreign governments that she is in it for herself. Add to that her proven record of failure, deceit, negligence, corruption and lying and it is obvious that although there are similar negatives she is someone who should never again hold office. That leaves Trump as the only person for now who can actually win.
Dewey if you don’t know that I already speak against any form of “world order” as well as power vested in the UN, no matter who proposes it, you aren’t paying attention.
My constant message is power vested in the people with control as close to home as possible. I favor and revere our founding documents and the rule of law that supports and protects individual rights.
If you are going to continue to hang out here, please do me a favor and READ what I write and try to remember who you’re addressing. Your constant, irrelevant, nagging is silly.
