I was thinking about the debate coming up on Monday and asking the usual questions. Pretty soon a song was repeating in my head…Monday Monday…so good to me
Monday mornin´, it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday mornin´, Monday mornin´ couldn´t guarantee
That Monday evenin´ you would still be here with me
Monday, Monday, can´t trust that day
Monday, Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way
Oh Monday mornin´ you gave me no warnin´ of what was to be
Oh Monday, Monday, how could you leave and not take me…
Hmmm…hope it becomes Hillary’s theme song….
Will Hillary, giggle, cough, faint, dance (needing a potty break) or lecture in that nurse ratchet voice? Or will she maintain a serene, calm (wooden) veneer through the full 90 minutes and manage to seem healthy?
Will Trump stay focused and calm or will he fall off the rails? Will Hillary bait him? Hillary thinks she’ll be able to bait Trump and and easily knock him out of the race.
I bet the odds makers are having a field day with this one.
Will the debate moderator, Lester Holt, do a good job? No matter what he does someone is bound to be unhappy…I just hope he manages to remain neutral.
With the NFL in decline, and growing anticipation about the performances of the candidates, there’s a real good chance that a lot of people will be tuned in to watch. It should be quite a night.
By the way, the 1966 album that featured that hit song by the Mama’s and the Papa’s was titled, “If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears.”
Fitting theme for the last eight years!!

Would really be interesting to know what Obumble’s pseudonym was. Emperor, perhaps? Or King? Or Supreme Ruler? Or God?
It would be interesting. Lord of the Universe, perhaps?
Does his involvement explain the five people given immunity…including Cheryl Mills?

Be sure to read the comments -they’re hilarious!
It will be theater designed for ratings.
They both will try to bait. trump will attack when he does not know the answeres. He is being schooled in debate technique. really it will be a bunch of controlled by media crap.
I still say we should have pushed for all 4 candidates. Who cares about skewed polls. Imagine Gary Johnson and Jill Stein in there to stir it up. Stop a bit of the controlled narrative of attack and dodge.
I am shocked you are not a Johnson voter. He is the Koch candidate who’s platform is the Old tea party Platform. He has been mild for a reason. Watch him in Stein vs Johnson Presidential debate 2012 on RT moderated by Thom hartman. I think he is more aligned to your thinking. maybe I am wrong but hey take a look.
Howie Carr on the odds makers:
Politics has always been theater. Ratings will soar because of the candidates. The design is built in. (All the worlds a stage)
The difference in political theater is that our choice as a nation can make real differences in our personal lives. A Hillary presidency will not create conditions that will lead to good jobs. In fact she will further blunt economic opportunities for all but the very wealthy and her record on the international stage is already abysmal. Trumps ideas are exactly what we need to create a vibrant economy, good jobs, and the chance to better ourselves. (And a chance to recover quickly from the inevitable recession on the way)
“Stop a bit of the controlled narrative of attack and dodge.”
It’s just part of the theater. It’s our job to see through the fakery and to notice the authentic and workable. People reveal their intentions and true selves in any situation. We must become keen observers to see it. This is the game of life…might as well relax and play.
There is controlled narrative and there is studied, planned preparedness. There is manipulation and there is straight forward honesty. There is manipulative game playing and there is the ability to flatten manipulative game playing.
The media is attempting to “prep” us today. Telling us poor Hillary might have to work harder than Trump. She’s shorter, she is more likely to need breaks, she will have to spend the whole debate correcting Trumps “lies”…what a joke! Just because so many in the media fail to report Hillary’s repeated instances of lying doesn’t mean she isn’t a KNOWN liar of epic proportions. It also doesn’t mean the media is ignorant about the truth in a matter.
Voters sit on an interesting precipice…this is both wildly funny and deadly serious!
“I am shocked you are not a Johnson voter.”
Shocked? You shouldn’t be. His idea that we may have to, “…look into colonizing other planets before the sun swallows the earth” is more off the wall than anything Trump or Hillary have proposed.
He also misses the point on immigration, just as the race obsessed left does.
The climate issue is a fraud. Johnson seems to get it. Jill Stein is as nutty as Al Gore.
Johnson and I agree on many economic issues. I do have a Libertarian bent but most candidates of the party run to the extreme and lean too far toward anarchy and/or isolationism for me.
The “health” benefits of marijuana, for instance, are dwarfed by the damage this drug has done, and will do, to young developing minds and lungs. The denial is idiotic. The generation that made this drug mainstream in America over the last fifty + years is the same generation that made cigarettes a dirty word for “health” reasons. (It was simply a political agitation tool)
If these candidates want a piece of the stage they’re going to have to find a way to appeal to more of the voters. it’s as simple as that.
