Obama Says Trump Election Signals Dangerous Populist Trend

There are times when you just have to shake your head in wonderment at the blind perceptions of those who represent the hard left. President Obama is no exception. He’s in Europe on a “farewell” (self aggrandizement) tour. While in Greece he warned about the dangerous rise of the will of the common people against globalist thinkers:

“When you see a Donald Trump and a Bernie Sanders, very unconventional candidates, have considerable success, then obviously there is something there that’s being tapped into: a suspicion of globalization, a desire to rein in its excesses.”

“I do believe, separate and apart from any particular election or movement, that we are going to have to guard against a rise in a crude sort of nationalism or ethnic identity or tribalism that is built around an ‘us’ and a ‘them,'” he said.

“I will never apologize for saying that the future of humanity and the future of the world is going to be defined by what we have in common as opposed to those things that separate us,” he said.

“In the United States, we know what happens when we start dividing ourselves along lines of race or religion or ethnicity. It’s dangerous,”

This from a man that has spent the past eight years pitting people against each other and creating divisions by race, class, religion and ethnicity. This from a man that has blown up the Middle East and stood by as non-Muslims and gays have been tortured and killed mercilessly. This from a man that has labeled vast segments of our society rendering them as the “them” he claims is so distasteful (Basket of Deplorables). This from the man that waged war on police officers. This from a man that insulted allies and embraced enemies. This from a man that turned our military into a social experiment. This from a man that vowed to lead all of the people but then mocked and derided his opponents. This from a man that rejected the checks and balances political process to rule by fiat.

Obama represents everything this nation was founded to prevent, the rise of an oppressive ruling class. He believes in globalism, which is the very definition of centralized control over all lives. In reality this thinking is the narcissistic notion that he (elites) can alter human nature through the sheer magnetism of his personality and presence. Like many on the hard left he does not recognize or respect people as free human beings but as ignorant sheep in need of herding by a superior few.

The people in America did not rise to create a crude sort of nationalism or tribalism; the people in America rose up to restore the founding notions of liberty for ALL people. The people rose up to restore the rule of law and reign in oppressive policies. The people rose up to put an end to stagnation, division, and discord.

We who voted for Trump, or against Hillary Clinton, are free sovereign individuals. We are not segregationists. We are not hateful bigots. We recognize and respect differences in people and believe every individual has the ability to guide his own life. We believe respect for the rule of law makes it possible to live in peace, side by side, without giving up control and without exercising control over others. Live and let live. As we believe in the sovereignty of the self we also believe in the sovereignty of states and of nations. Each has the ability to interact and cooperate with others. Good fences make good neighbors.

The rejection of globalism is not dangerous; it is a cry for freedom.

The river of crap just keeps flowing from Obama.

Here goes Obumble on his final Apology Tour photo-op. Gonna try to convince other world leaders that the guy he’s been trashing for the last few months is gonna be OK?? I think those leaders will form their own opinions about TheDonald without Obumble’s “help.”
Already protests in Greece for Obumble’s visit there. This tour was ill-advised, but our narcissistic prez thinks other leaders actually want to hear what he has to say. Those same leaders learned long ago not to trust anything coming from our proven serial liar-in-chief.
Would’ve been better for Obumble if this was a golf tour. . . .

Why are STILL obsessing about that man? (As if I didn’t know.)

Onward, Tina! Here is as succinct a statement of what we’re in for as I’ve read anywhere. As it was, so shall it be, so shall it be:

“Donald Trump’s transition team remains stuck in transition. Here’s the latest example of the trouble the president-elect is having, via the New York Times:

“President-elect Donald J. Trump’s transition operation plunged into disarray on Tuesday with the abrupt departure of Mike Rogers, who had handled national security matters, the second shake-up in less than a week on a team that has not yet begun to execute the daunting task of taking over the government. …

“In another sign of disarray, a transition official said on Tuesday that Mr. Trump had removed a second senior defense and foreign policy official from his transition team, Matthew Freedman, who runs a Washington consulting firm that advises foreign governments and companies seeking to do business with the United States government.

“Those departures came only days after Chris Christie was unexpectedly and unceremoniously demoted from atop the transition team and replaced by Vice President–elect Mike Pence. Rogers’ name had originally been floated for a high-level position within the Trump administration, but that ship appears to have sailed directly into a Jared Kushner–shaped iceberg. NBC News reports that Rogers was forced out as part of what one of its unnamed sources described as a “Stalinesque purge” of Christie allies from the transition team. If that’s true, Rogers’ and Freedman’s departures likely won’t be the last.

“The transition-team turmoil would be concerning if the president-elect had past government experience to fall back on. Trump, of course, does not. More troubling still is the evidence that suggests he never spent much time prepping for what will be his first government job. Trump reportedly ignored his D.C.-area policy shop during the campaign to such a degree — up to and including failing to actually pay them for their service — that many of the experts who were ostensibly helping to plot out what a Trump administration would look like in practice quit en masse this summer. Concerns about Trump’s unpreparedness only grew louder this week when the Wall Street Journal reported that, during his meeting with President Obama after the election, Trump was surprised to learn just how big of a job being president actually will be.”

Four years of Stalinesque purges … as one “betrayer” after another is dispatched … whoopdee-doodle! This is what happens when you abdicate your duty as a citizen, which is not to put a paranoid, just like yourselves, in the White House!

  4. Pie Guevara says:

Barack Obama wasn’t on any ballot anywhere. But as he himself pointed out in repeated vain pleas to support his heir apparent Hillary Clinton, the political legacy of the man’s entire 2,922-day presidency was on the line.

    It lost.

Because Obama built so much of his record on unilateral executive fiat and partisan congressional votes, much of it seems likely to be swept away by Republican majorities still controlling both houses of Congress working with an adopted Republican president, Donald Trump.

The fact is Obama’s two terms will end with his Democrat Party in smoking ruins in Washington and across the country.

Hillary Clinton wasn’t the only big election loser

  5. Tina says:

    Dumb, dumb and dumb!

What the Times describes as “disarray” is simply a process, but it’s not surprising that you’ve been beguiled.

Trump promised to weed out lobbyists from the transition team. He’s simply keeping that promise. There is vetting to be done and trump is getting on with it.

Remember when Obama created an official seal?

Yes, he can. But, really: Oh, no, he didn’t!

Barack Obama’s presidential campaign raised eyebrows and elicited snickers Friday when it unveiled the Obamamania version of the presidential seal.

At a meeting with Democratic governors in Chicago, Obama sat behind a rostrum with a seal that looked not-so-coincidentally like the official seal of the President of the United States.

Featuring an eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch, the seal contained a Latin phrase for a touch of gravitas that roughly translates to “Yes, We Can.” (see photo)

Nothing funnier than an arrogant amateur.

And who’s obsessing? Obama is still the president and today he was in the news. That’s what we do here, remember?

    • No Longer Deplorable J Soden says:

The phrase on the seal just changed to “No, You Can’t!” on November 8th.

    • Harold says:

This contrived “unicorn filled with fairy dust” spin coming from the disjointed left about “Donald Trump’s transition team remains stuck in transition” is just one more example of selective feeding at the troughs of misdirection.

Lippy needs to think back to the many months AFTER Clinton, had been sworn into office and how long it took Bill Clinton to fill all the positions in his administration (Not counting these assumed by interns) humm and where was Billy Bush then?

Trump has the media upset because he knows what he is building as a transition team, cabinet and Administration staff and the liberal media knows nothing, which is about what they did on the outcome of the election.

So they contrive some BS opinions about nothing, just to satisfy their editors.

I guess their leftist safety pins must have come loose and they lost their pacifiers, so all they can do is cry meaninglessly.

  6. Pie Guevara says:

Re Obsessing: Lippy meets the deep-end of psychosis.

This would be funny if it were not so sad.

  7. Libby says:

Well, if you want to call a son-in-law’s vendetta “process”, you can do so and see if it flies. We’re all panting to see what cabinet posts the Jared and the rest of the kids are nominated for. This is gonna be so much fun!

Trump Announces Senior White House Leadership:

(New York, NY) – President-elect Donald J. Trump today announced that Trump for President CEO Stephen K. Bannon will serve as Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor to the President, and Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will serve as White House Chief of Staff.

Bannon and Priebus will continue the effective leadership team they formed during the campaign, working as equal partners to transform the federal government, making it much more efficient, effective and productive. Bannon and Priebus will also work together with Vice President-elect Mike Pence to help lead the transition process in the run-up to Inauguration Day.

“I am thrilled to have my very successful team continue with me in leading our country,” said President-elect Trump. “Steve and Reince are highly qualified leaders who worked well together on our campaign and led us to a historic victory. Now I will have them both with me in the White House as we work to make America great again.”

  9. Libby says:

” …but as ignorant sheep in need of herding by a superior few.”

Such wildly divergent perceptions we got going here … I can think of no better phase to describe Trump followers … or word … “herd”. He exhorts you to withdraw from global affairs, to put the nation’s welfare over the planet’s. “Make America Great Again.” What is that but nationalism? He inflames the prejudices of one group against another. What is that but tribalism?
