Holy Guacamole! A rare thing happened today. CNN, a network that gave President Trump “93% negative coverage” in the first months of his presidency, acknowledged that President Trump has been a “keeper of promises”:
A politician who actually does what he told voters he would do seems almost unfathomable in Washington, a town of broken promises. For Donald Trump, being a president who delivers is especially crucial, since it’s one of the golden keys to his so far unbreakable bond with supporters.
It was just the latest instance of the President obstinately honoring the bumper-sticker vows he made to his ultra-loyal supporters — even those that horrify the political and foreign policy establishment, media critics and allied leaders.
They even provided a list of accomplishments, albeit a somewhat thin list:
Has moved to renegotiate NAFTA
Pulled out of the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal
Pulled out of the Paris climate accord
Has targeted the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal
Implemented a travel ban targeting countries that are hotbeds of Islamic terrorism
Pushed for harder immigration policies
Strong economy and stock market
They left out…placed Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court, Keystone pipeline, returned public lands to Utah, downsized government departments to make them more efficient, made a concerted effort to arrest (and deport) dangerous gang members and criminals, eliminated onerous regulations, opened Alaska to drilling, reclaimed our sovereign rights regarding immigration and refugees, incentivized business people, both foreign and domestic, to invest in America, negotiated with leaders in the ME to have them take the lead against terrorists, and hasn’t been afraid to call out false or misleading stories in the media or shied away from exposing what he thinks is corruption in government. Whew! That’s all in the first year, a year that included several challenging hurricanes and fires.
Trump acts like a leader, not a politician. He’s able to see things big picture. He learns from the mistakes of those who’ve gone before him. He empowers those around him and expects results…quick results. One of the complaints we in flyover country have is that politicians talk and never get anything accomplished. When they do it often does more harm (Obamacare) than good. Trumps approach is in the spirit of the GENERAL welfare. He knows we’re capable of handling the rest at the state, local, and familial level. It’s how our founders envisioned this republic would work. (Of course we’ve done a lot of damage that needs to be undone to put more power in the hands of the people while at the same time supporting those who truly need assistance.
Trump represents a welcome change to the status quo and we are lovin’ it! He said he’d MAGA and he’s keeping his agreement!
Who know what CNN will do from here on. This might be the occassional bone tossed to give them credence, but I welcome it nonetheless.
Source Ryan Saavedra of the Daily Wire…follow the link above.
CNN may be having a change of heart about Trump after Wray’s congressional hearing yesterday. Let’s hope.

Viewers left the NFL, too – and it’ll be hard regaining their trust, if at all.
FNN has a LONG way to go to re-establish itself as a legitimate news outlet and gather more viewers than just the relatives of the folks who are still employed there. . .
More FNN screwups:

The Daily Caller reported today that CNN got it wrong (tried to create fake news) seven times this year (so far). That’s a terrible record for an established news organization but it makes me wonder, how many other stories have they faked through the years that didn’t get caught?
This fake news stuff has been going on for decades.
Our nation is not well served when journalists choose a side. In fact, they create a pathway to totalitarian control and miserable downfall.
CNN joined MSNBC and take a nap tonight. Neither of them televised Trump’s speech. Only Fox News did along with the live streams on the internet.
People watching those two channels have no idea the president gave a speech and a really good informative one too. But, then that was probably their intent all along. They can now edit and pick out only the parts that make him look bad while denying people the opportunity to see the original uncut version to form their own opinion.
Enjoy if you missed it.

And National Review Online does it again!

NRO said it much better than I could!
J Brown’s reference to Biblical teaching is a silly desperate move. See my latest post for one reason he’s doing this at this particular time. He like many other politicians are being shown up for their lack of real leadership. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch.
Even better, the president has kept his promise that he would allow us to say “Merry Christmas” again, whereas under Obama we were forced to say “Happy Muslim Kwanzaa.”
https://www.npr.org/2017/11/30/567525913/fact-check-trump-s-pledge-to-restore-merry-christmas-to-the-white-house
Score one for you Chris, however, the point is incidental in the overall picture.
I owned a plant shop in the seventies when the pressure to say Happy Holidays rather than Merry Christmas began. I was stunned to discover that even in my children’s elementary school songs like Jingle Bells were outlawed because they were traditional Christmas songs. There was a time when either greeting could be said confidently. Resistance to the more traditional greeting became more and more intense as the decades moved along.
Dennis Prager, writing in National Review, shared a similar experience in 2015:
Now, I don’t know where the information NPR’s fact checkers found came from but I do know that a picture is worth a thousand words. Admittedly some of these are right winger and left winger creations but others are authentic Obama White House Christmas cards and greetings.
The question is, why would anyone be offended by a positive greeting for a national holiday?
Merry Christmas to you, Chris.
Merry Christmas to you, Tina.
In that spirit, and in the spirit of your generous and fair-minded reply, I apologize for leaping to a “gotcha” on a post that actually contains some points I agree with. Trump has kept many of his promises, despite my disagreement with his policies.
You are right that the Obamas sometimes said “Happy Holidays,” but they said “Merry Christmas” just as frequently.
My school always had Christmas songs when I was a child, which biases my perspective–I know some communities are more reluctant to do so. I have no problem with individuals choosing to say either “Happy Holidays” or “Merry Christmas.” If someone wished me a “Happy Hanukkah” I wouldn’t be offended, and I don’t think most people are offended by things like this. I agree some communities have become overly sensitive and have ruined it for others. Still, Christmas remains one of the most heavily advertised and promoted holidays in our country, so the idea that there is a “War on Christmas” doesn’t stand up to scrutiny for me.
Chris I never thought the Obama’s were part of the war on Christmas.
I do think there is an godless element in our society that would like to greatly diminish or destroy the Christian faith and the fact that our nation was founded on Judeo/Christian values. I also think those who can’t stand the thought of offending someone have helped that radical element by agreement and compliance with the idea that it’s not okay to wish others merry Christmas.
The Bay Area schools my kids attended totally avoided traditional Christmas music.
See, I live in the Valley, which is far more conservative. I’ve never considered that that might have its advantages…
There are so many legitimate stories out there, you’d think that the media presstitutes would cover them instead of either making them up or lying about them.
Like this one posted Sunday afternoon . . . . .

Fusion GPS – paid for by the Clinton Campaign and the DNC . . . . . .
J this corruption bucket is so deep they may never get to the bottom of it. The more that comes out the stinkier it gets. It should be clear by now that the Hillary campaign and the DNC…including Obama…are all conspirators in the last election and the drive to undermine Trump after the unexpected election result.
Heads should roll…the Democrats are a disgraced party.
Scheduling problem? Right. So, why not cancel the other appointment? What could be more important than keeping an appointment with a congressional committee that has constitutional oversight authority.
FBI’s McCabe ‘has an Ohr problem,’ will not testify on Tuesday, source says:
“Fox News was told by those familiar with the matter that the intelligence committee is suspicious of the purported scheduling error. One source said they believe the schedule issue arose after Fox News’ report Monday night on Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr.
Ohr was recently demoted from one of his two senior posts. Fox News reported that Ohr’s wife, Nellie Ohr, worked through last fall for Fusion GPS, which was behind the anti-Trump dossier.
The precise nature of Mrs. Ohr’s duties – including whether she worked on the dossier – remains unclear but a review of her published works available online reveals Mrs. Ohr has written extensively on Russia-related subjects.
“McCabe has an Ohr problem,” one congressional source said.
The supposition is that Justice Department officials realized McCabe would face questions about Ohr and he is not prepared to respond.
The committee is prepared to subpoena all Justice Department documents and records related to the scheduling debacle, the source said. The committee is also prepared to subpoena McCabe to compel his testimony later this week.
Some Capitol Hill sources have expressed reservations that McCabe could retire before various congressional investigators get to him.”

Two more layers of the Mueller/FBI onion removed.
“Aaron Zebley:
Aaron Zebley, another former partner at WilmerHale and a former chief of staff to Mueller when he served as FBI director, represented Justin Cooper, a key figure in the Hillary Clinton email controversy.
Cooper is the longtime Bill Clinton aide responsible for helping set up the now-infamous private email server. Cooper later admitted to “two instances where he destroyed [Hillary] Clinton’s old mobile devices by breaking them in half or hitting them with a hammer.”
Jeannie Rhee:
Jeannie Rhee, another former partner at WilmerHale, represented ex-Obama National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes, the Clinton Foundation in a 2015 racketeering case, and Hillary Clinton herself in a lawsuit seeking access to her private emails.”
