This is a global pandemic, the W.H.O. says.
The spread of the coronavirus across more than 100 countries now qualifies as a global pandemic, World Health Organization officials said on Wednesday, confirming what many epidemiologists have been saying for weeks.
Until now, the W.H.O. had avoided using the term to describe the epidemic leapfrogging across the world, for fear of giving the impression that it was unstoppable and countries would give up on trying to contain it. The organization had said earlier in the outbreak that it no longer officially declared when an epidemic reaches pandemic proportions, preferring instead to declare global public health emergencies.
“Pandemic is not a word to use lightly or carelessly,” Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, chief of the W.H.O., said at a news conference in Geneva.
Been self quarantined since Friday night when I got a scratchy throat, a migraine-like headache and began running a temp that went as high as 100.8. Today is the first day the headache is gone and the temp is almost gone.
On Monday I reported to my doctor what was going on and she said to let her know if I begin having trouble breathing. Otherwise stay home until the temp is gone.
Don’t know if it was the flu or the coronavirus and really don’t care. Since, I’m in the over 70 club I’m looking forward to being able to go out again, hopefully tomorrow. Thankful I had my frig and pantry stocked.
By the way, what’s with all these crazy people buying up a years worth of TP? Someone needs to tell them it’s the other end and to buy Kleenex instead.

I have taken issue with Peggy’s arguments and, on occasion, honesty. In your world, that means I can’t genuinely express concern for her health, and hope that she feels better? You have to project bad motives on even that? You are telling on yourself more and more with every comment. This is sad.
