Representative Nancy Pelosi has described The Families First Coronavirus Response Act as “Testing, testing, testing” but it’s not. The bill includes significant increased spending on unrelated entitlement programs and … ta daaaa … reformations to abortion laws and abortion practices.
This is a classic Democrat ploy. If House Republicans vote against the bill because of the unrelated items included in it Democrats can bash them for not being serious or caring about the health of Americans and meeting the challenge of the Wuhan virus pandemic. If House Republicans buckle and vote for the bill Democrats get legislative goodies that otherwise could not pass.
So, it is business as usual with the Democrats. They use the cover of one issue to jam in a bunch of unrelated pet issues. Is it any wonder why Trump won on a platform that included ‘draining the swamp’?
One might argue, “But this goes on all the time with both parties.” Yes, but typically such tags are about pork or deal making. In other words the “I’ll vote for this bill if it includes funding for a bridge in my state” or “If you include my pet legislation in this bill I’ll go along with it” sort of deal making. What the Democrats are doing here with the The Families First Coronavirus Response Act and have done countless times in the past amounts to political extortion.
Saturday morning
Saw this one on Twitter today. An excellent comment on what passes for Demwit “leadership.”
Wow! California is really taking the Wuhan virus serious. New testing methods are being done without leaving your house! No hospital or office visit necessary! All you have to do is mail a sample of your stool to:
Gov. Gavin Newsom

Thanks for the information, J S. As a member of the vulnerable class, I appreciate the opportunity to be tested my mail. I plan to have a nice burrito dinner at a Chico restaurant favored by CSUC students, then fill a bucket with my sample and send it by certified mail to the Governor.
