Before anyone shuts down wet markets an alternative must be established. Replace them with what? Western style supermarkets? Supermarkets are not immune to spreading deadly diseases. WHO’s advice to shut wet markets down is absurd and what alternatives do they suggest? They are also found in North America, Europe and Oceania. Wet markets are all over East Asia, South America, Central America and Mexico. Does WHO expect people who depend on them for foodstuffs to starve to death? Wet markets will not be shut down (except in some areas) because too many people depend on them.
Enforcing sanitation and other regulations is the key, not shutting down wet markets.
Excellent video Jack. Good find.
Thanks Pie. : )
