Of course this is probably just a temporary setback. Once you give power to politicians and panic peddlers they rarely give up. But if you want a lesson in why governments should remain small and unobtrusive take a look at Copenhagen where the climate “talks” are taking place. It’s the biggest hot air fest of the season and may well be responsible for the greatest output of carbon dioxide for the entire year, although health care debates in the US would run a close second. Big nations and little nations are butting heads over what should or should not be done to stop a “problem” that is being seriously questioned and may be a complete hoax…and they are deadly serious! Pomposity is on parade…cue the “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies’.

What’s better than a meeting of BIG blowhard representatives of governments? You’ll find the perfect models…yes I said “models”…in various organizations, institutions and labs all across America and other nations. “Answers”, you see, lie with people…many people…people who grapple every day with discovery, research, and development and who find it interesting and equitable to solve problems and work with others doing the same. People witth cash to invest in those projects. America…a free America…has been such a model for decades. Why are we rushing headlong toward a model of failure?

“Government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem.” – Ronald Reagan

The only game politicians play is the mandating of deadlines, that may or may not be possible to meet, and the transfer of money from the pockets of some people to the pockets of others (including their own). Governments are about power and control; ultimately their meddling becomes a killer of innovation and production.
