Sunday Thoughts

I have often wondered why it is that Conservatives are called the “right” and Liberals are called the “left.” By chance I stumbled upon this verse in the Bible: “The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left ..” Ecclesiastes 10:2 (New International Version) Can’t get any simpler than that…!

Bonus wisdom:

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

And then there is a few thoughts from gun wisdom:

If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid.. but that’s ridiculous. If you have a gun, you have no reason to be paranoid.”

“Don’t shoot fast, unless you also shoot good.”

“You can say ‘stop’ or ‘alto’ or use any other word you think will work, but I’ve found that a large bore muzzle pointed at someone’s head is pretty much the universal language.”

“You have the rest of your life to solve your problems.. How long you live depends on how well you do it.”

Yes, and this is why left-handed folk are sinister and not to be trusted.

    Bonus wisdom:

You cannot worship both God and Mammon (capital)
translation: You cannot be a Christian AND a Republican.

  4. Tina says:

Worship is a specific word with a specific meaning.

Judgement concerning the worship habits of others requires profound intimate knowledge of their minds and hearts. Only God has that power.

    Dangerous ground Q.

  5. Harriet says:

You cannot worship both God and Mammon (capital)

Quentin, so are you saying that Democrats worship God and Mammon, and be Christian?

If you worship capitol that is putting wealth equal to God and that is wrong, Most Christians would not do that, so yes they can be both Republican and Christian.

Liberal democrats? I can’t speak for them

  6. Quentin Colgan says:

No ma’am, I am saying one cannot simultaneously be a Republican and a Christian.
I said NOTHING about the Democrats. Please pay attention.
