It’s days like today that make you wonder if we’re in more trouble than anyone could imagine? The stock market is driving people nuts! It’s beyond frustrating!
The #@$%^& recession drags on and on, and today the federal reserve warns it may be years before we’re back to normal…what!? This news is bad enough, but its exacerbated by the still skidding real estate market and the gloomy, no make that dire… economic troubles across Europe and parts of Asia.
The European Common Market warned just yesterday that it is dangerously close to losing control of an orderly bailout process to save it’s bankrupt countries like Italy, Spain, Greece and Ireland.
Earlier today the U.S. market was down over 400 points or about 3.8% and this comes after it lost 285 points only yesterday. Days and weeks prior, our stock market has been in a sort of see-saw frenzy that has caused investors to cash out and run for the sidelines, abandoning blue chip stocks like they were toxic.
The strange behavior of the stock market reflects the growing insecurity among us that comes from our own faltering economy that is solidly linked to the shaky economies of other nations around the globe.
On the political front it looks like a majority of Americans have lost all confidence in the Obama Administration to fix it. The last time (Sept. 9th) Obama took to the podium to offer up his $447 billion dollar spending plan to create jobs the market plunged 309 points!
I’m so glad I live in California where frugal democrats have got everything under control. Our new budget passed in August is absolutely honest and realistic. I’m thrilled it is not a BIG FAT FRAUD. We should be grateful that it was not approved on time ONLY to keep their big fat legislative salaries from being stopped, so don’t even go there (I’m covering my ears now, nah, nah, nah).
We love our democrats because they are doing a wonderful job running this state. It’s either that or, it’s the zombie drugs they secretly slip into our water.
Update: Market is down 441 points. This raises some questions, is this the beginning of the big crash so many of us have feared – Will California’s growing deficit and high unemployment matter to voters in the 2012 election – Will space aliens invade or will they just take one look at this stupid mess, shrug their shoulders, and go home? Stay tuned.
Jack, you should come over to my blog. I’m a RACIST! They’re comparing me to the “UCLA girl”!
I think I’ve finally hit The Big Time. 19 comments! so what if seven of them are mine!
But, really, it would be nice to get your take on all this. It’s getting pretty ridiculous over there. Go look:

Put on your hip waders if you’re coming in.
Hey Juanita, I gave it a shot. Hope it went through.
Dude, what passed for “normal” these last 40 years is probably gone forever.
thanks Jack,
great comment. I too hope the Hmong will get it figured out. I don’t like separatists, especially separatists who expect special favors from your government. Especially separatists who have a history of selling out the government.
Hey, my family are tough old hillbillies too who are willing to kill to get their way – how is my family different from Hmong? When he came to this country, my grandfather spoke Cornish. Ever heard anybody speak Cornish? It’s NOT English. A grandmother of mine spoke Gaelic, or “Welsh” as she called it – related directly to Cornish but somehow different enough to start a fist fight.
My grandparents shed their native languages when they left their native country, because intelligent people find it more practical to speak the language of their host country. They don’t expect their host country to translate the bathroom signs into seven languages, much less ballots or other government literature.
When a man I know tried to run a statewide petition, the state told him he had to translate the petition into seven languages, including Japanese! But no Cornish?! He had to pay for all the translations out of his own pocket. That isn’t Democracy, it’s extortion.
That’s what I’m seeing in the Diversity Plan. Did you happen to look it over? Read some of the stuff Schwab wrote into that plan – “mandatory diversity training for staff, council, board and commission members.” Whoa, Nelly – BRAINWASHING!
And of course, as soon as we try to discuss this stuff rationally, people, and I’m not absolutely certain all or even any of the people who commented on my blog are actually Hmong – but they just go nuts! Because they don’t want a rational discussion to take place? That’s what I’m seeing. Thanks for your excellent comment and thanks for coming around when I needed a perspective check.
Juanita I absolutely agree with you. I think America is in trouble and headed for worse trouble because of our sub-cultures.
thanks Jack. It’s a time for honesty.
