Who Is Behind The Occupy Wall Street Movement?

The Occupy Wall Street movement began as a suggestion on the Adbusters blog.

    Adbusters

The Adbusters Media Foundation (AMF) is a not-for-profit, anti-consumerist organization founded in 1989 by author/activist Kalle Lasn and wilderness cinematographer Bill Schmalz in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Foundation describes itself as “a global network of artists, activists, writers, pranksters, students, educators and entrepreneurs who want to advance the new social activist movement of the information age.”

A major contributor to Adbusters is the Tides Foundation.

The Tides Foundation was set up as a public charity that receives money from donors and then funnels it to the recipients of their choice. Because many of these recipient groups are quite radical, the donors often prefer not to have their names publicly linked with the donees. By letting the Tides Foundation, in effect, “launder” the money for them and pass it along to the intended beneficiaries, donors can avoid leaving a “paper trail.” Such contributions are called “donor-advised,” or donor-directed, funds.

Through this legal loophole, nonprofit entities can also create for-profit organizations and then funnel money to them through Tides — thereby circumventing the laws that bar nonprofits from directly funding their own for-profit enterprises.

    George Soros

George Soros has donated over seven million dollars to the Tides Foundation. Soros, a New York hedge fund manager, is one of the most powerful men on earth and has amassed a personal fortune estimated in 2009 at about $13 billion.

Soros funds multiple radical left wing organizations such as Media Matters. His donations are largely made through his network of Soros foundation grant making entities.

MoveOn.org and Campaign For America’s Future

Progressive groups like Campaign for America’s Future and MoveOn.org are throwing their considerable weight behind the Occupy Wall Street protests, and even organizing similar events in Washington, D.C.

Moveon.org is one of the seven of George Soros’ “Shadow Party” groups that forms the Shadow Party administrative core.

Campaign For America’s Future was co-founded by left wing radical Robert Borosage who also happens to be a contributing editor at the radical left’s premier publication, The Nation magazine (thenation.com).

  2. Rex Crosley says:

You are an idiot who cries about stupid stuff and spreads disinformation. This protest is for all of us. We are all in this together. We are the 99%

  3. Tina says:

This protest is for democrats, backed by democrat Marxists, and not representative of 99% in any way.

With a few exceptions, “stupid stuff” is being spewed by these uninformed and poorly educated young citizens.

I don’t blame them for being angry at the state of the economy and our country. If they want a different result they had better start educating themselves from all perspectives. What they don’t know has more value than what they think they know.

  4. Harriet says:

I read a letter to the editor in the ER today. The writer believes that Sierra Nevada is partially responsible for the bad behavior of college students drinking too much. I was at first stunned, then realized that the writer is typical of many liberals that believe someone else is to blame for bad behavior so they must pay,

I see Sierra Nevada as a great example of what can be achieved in this country with hard work and dedication,
Ken Grossman began with a friend brewing home beer, Quite an achievement I would say. Grossman has also led by example with regard to the environment.

I wonder if the write of the ER editorial is the same mind set as the protestors.

  5. Pie Guervara says:

Re Rex Crosley’s: “You are an idiot who cries about stupid stuff and spreads disinformation…We are the 99%”

Ah yes. The powerful and compelling old “your are an idiot” argument coupled to the equally ancient “we are the vast majority/we have already won” claim.

    *Yawn*

  6. Rex Crosley says:

If they want a better result they should start lighting banks on fire, throwing bricks and stabbing pigs.

  7. Post Scripts says:

Yeah Rex, lets burn it all down, lets torch the banks, throw bricks and stab the pigs…great idea. Where did you come up with that one, that is so brilliant and so original?

  8. Pie Guevara says:

By the way, I have spread no disinformation. My post on “Who Is Behind The Occupy Wall Street Movement?” is SHARING INFORMATION from:

Two radical left wing publications —

    The Nation Magazine
    Rolling Stone Magazine

Three radical left wing organizations —

    Adbusters Media Foundation
    Campaign For America’s Future
    MoveOn.org

and a David Horowitz associated website —

    http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/

Evidently the brick throwing arsonist pig sticker “thinks” differently.

  9. juanita says:

Oh god Pie, I owe you such an apology.

  10. Elizabeth Brite says:

Thank you for your research. Saved me time. To what good will it do George Soros if the banks collapse I wonder?

  11. Post Scripts says:

Probably none. Soros will go down with the rest of us.
