Derick Kravetz of the AP reports today: “US new-home sales fell in December to make 2011 worst sales year on record”
The worst year on record! Is it any wonder…there is little opportunity, few jobs and very little optimism about the future. And the debate about job creation just keeps getty sillier!
The Washington Examiner reports:
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced his second bio-fuels loan guarantee in a week, revealing that the Agriculture Department (USDA) is slated to loan an Oregon biorefinery $232.5 million for a project expected to create 65 jobs and support 38 others.
Woo hoo…98 whole jobs for $232.5 million taxpayer dollars! No wonder they want to raise taxes on millionaires! They need it for their many exotic “alternatives” to real private sector job creation.
And speaking of job creation, if jobs are the hot selling point for government sponsored alternatives, how to explain killing Keystone or the nutty remarks of Democrat Representative Jan Schakowsky as reported in The Hill today:
“Twenty thousand jobs is really not that many jobs, and investing in green technologies will produce that and more,” she said on Chicago’s WLS Radio Don Wade and Roma Show on Wednesday morning. “But I’ll tell you what, you know it seems to me that the Republicans would rather have an issue than a pipeline.”
Republicans want the pipeline NOW not next November! Who is it that wants it as a political issue? Why Obama and Democrats do which is why they need more time.
Can America afford four more years of this hope and change monkey business?
