We Owe Even More? C’mon…

SACRAMENTO — In a gloomy preview of his May budget release, Gov. Jerry Brown said Saturday that California’s deficit has mushroomed to $16 billion, nearly $7 billion higher than he last estimated.

The Democratic governor blamed a slow economic recovery, as well as federal judges and administrators who blocked cuts to health care for the poor. Brown had previously pegged the deficit at $9.2 billion.

“This means that we will have to go much further, and make cuts far greater, than I asked for at the beginning of the year,” Brown said in a video released on YouTube. “But we can’t fill a hole of this magnitude with cuts alone without doing severe damage to our schools.”

Well that’s what you get when you run the job creators out of the state. I understand unemployment ended this weekend for 93,000 Californians.

It may be that home schooling will become the new norm in California…those who are fortunate enough to still have jobs will have to work it out with neighbors and friends.
The little old schoolhouse reduced to a kitchen table. As long as the lights remain on at least the kids won’t have to study by candlelight and they can get lesson plans online.

Home gardens are being planted and chicken coops are going up all over the place. I think most Californians were on to this long before Brown was.

Time to start thinking like pilgrims, Pilgrims!

Why is it that even with some of the highest taxes in the country this state always has some of the worst budget problems?

If high taxation is the answer this should be the most economically healthy states in the country.

And Brown’s answer is of course tax increases. He is demanding the voters pass them. Just think what it will be like when the Demoncrats get a two-thirds majority in the CA legislature. They will be able to pass any tax increase they want and will have no need for ballot initiatives.

And next year the Bush tax cuts and the temporary payroll tax cuts go away. And according to polls Brown’s tax increases would pass if the election were tomorrow.

So it looks like next year we will be paying higher taxes.

And of course the Demoncrats on our city council are going to pile on. If they have their way you will be paying more in phone taxes (even if they lower the rate most people will be paying the rate on more services so they will pay more in taxes).

You will also have to pay a special Chico sales tax of an extra 1% and there also will be a new tax on alcohol sales if these thieves get their way.

Oh, and they want to outlaw plastic grocery bags and make you pay a 25 cent per bag tax for a paper bag.

At what point do the people rise up and say enough to these thieves and tyrants???????

How soon they forget the people of Calif. said, “Enough” when Prop. 13 was passed.

“If they have their way you will be paying more in phone taxes…”

Not if more people learn they are already paying for “free” cell phones for millions.

“At what point do the people rise up and say enough to these thieves and tyrants???????”

    This November!!!

And free IPads for all the city council politicians.
