There are events that remain so bright in our memories that the passage of time can never completely soften them.

We at Post Scripts take a moment to remember and honor those who lost friends and relatives on that day. We remember and honor the many men and women that chose to give of themselves and risk their lives in service. And from that day to the present, we thank the many men and women that serve to keep us safe and free.

A few days ago I read about a family that was recently given a scrap of paper…a note…that their father and husband who worked on the 84th or 85th floor in one of the towers had thrown out the window to alert someone that there were people trapped inside on that floor. This was a last, perhaps desperate, attempt at being rescued and saved and because the paper was spattered with a small drop of blood the note had been traced, at long last, to the family. Wounds suddenly reopened as the family members realized things had not happened as they assumed. They had thought that he had probably died suddenly when the plane hit because of his location in the building. Now, all these years later, thoughts of what must have been a more agonizing death for their loved one has been visited upon this family.

God bless this family and the many people who, because they lost friends and relatives, remember just a little more deeply and a little more personally than most of us ever will.

GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Sac. Metro Fire Dept. holds an annual 9/11 Memorial Tower Climb.

343 firefighters pay to climb 110 stories wearing the name of a NY firefighter who died when the towers came down.

To climb 110 stories each firefighter must go up and come down the building’s stairs four times. The final climb ends on the roof where the name tap is removed and placed on a model of the twin tower while a bell is rung.

All proceeds from the registration fee goes to the children of the lost firefighters.

My son did it last year and was so touched by the experience he’s doing it again today.

Here is an article from 2009. Hopefully, there will be news coverage tonight showing all of the flags for each of the 343 lost firefighter.

“God bless the United States” sounds nice and He will bless us if the people meet His standards, otherwise what’s the point of blessing us? I worry about that. Today I’m feelin kinda like we’re living on the fringe of being another Sodom and Gamorah, then again 3/4ths of the world is a lot worse than us. Anybody have any good news to share? lol

I am listening to the radio, The talk of course is 9-11, and an interview with the fellow who found the cross that was formed by the heat and explosion. The feelings of the men who found it was expressed in a way that made me feel the hand of God too.

I thank God every day Gore was not president on 9/11.

I wonder if we would not be better off with Mr. Carbon Credits than Mr. Marxist.

  6. Post Scripts says:

The worst part is we’re still suffering and we will continue as long as the events from 9/11 can keep Homeland Security going, keep us in wars, keep us spending on foolish things labeled “security”, yet do not provide security, but do provide a nice living for a few people in that business.

  7. Peggy says:

Im remembering how we all pulled together putting aside our political differences and became united in our grief and love of our country.

Im also asking myself how we have now become a divided nation with a leader who had promised to unit us, but instead has forced us into positions of defending our beliefs and constitutional rights.

“United we stand, divided we fall!”

  8. Post Scripts says:

Peggy, it would be nice to pull together for once, but those Obama people are so far removed from what it means to be an American, I can’t see it happening.

Can you imagine someonet saying corporations should not be allowed to make a profit? Yet person after person at the DNC convention said that.

    How shameful and anti-American.

  9. Peggy says:

True Jack. We are a polarized nation because of Obama. Hes failed as a leader, but on the road to succeeding in destroying our country unless hes stopped in November.
